Himanta flags off ‘Bodoland Speaks' initiative
Guwahati: Assam CM on Sunday inaugurated 'Bodoland Speaks: From Vision to Action', a significant initiative of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) under the Bodoland Happiness Mission. The CM also launched several key publications and resources, including the 'BTR Communication Bridge'— a practical resource featuring 1001 words and sentences in 18 languages spoken across the region. Other launches included 'Transforming Bodoland - a journey of change in BTR', 'Looking Within: My Reflections' authored by chief executive member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro, and the annual report of the Bodoland Happiness Mission (2024–25). Sarma conferred the Bodoland Lifetime Achievers Award upon 18 personalities who have made contributions to the enrichment of folk cultures in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). He highlighted the importance of the Bodoland Happiness Mission, stating that it is an excellent effort to strengthen the peace and stability that the people of BTR have achieved over the last five years.

He said that the Bodoland Happiness Mission launched in the BTR has been hugely successful in forging happiness in the BTR areas. Giving a contrasting situation that existed in the Bodoland areas since 1968 which witnessed violence, turmoil etc, the Chief Minister said that the demand of self-determination of the Bodo people and the associated fear psychosis generated among the people belonging to other communities living in the areas made Bodoland one of the most disturbed areas. People spent their time in fear. As a result, people indulged in agitation to protect themselves. The Chief Minister called upon the people of BTR to extend all cooperation to make BTR one of the fast-paced development regions of the state. Stating that 21st century is not about conflict, it is the century where AI, quantum physics, robotics, machine learning rule the roost. He, therefore, called urged upon the people of BTR to embrace positive changes and contribute to the progress and prosperity of the state as well as the region. He on the occasion said that as per the demand of the ABSU State government will make it compulsory for all the government notifications to be translated in the Bodo language in all the 13 Bodo inhabited districts of the state.
