Add Phoebe Gates to the short list of people who have defeated NFL legend Tom Brady — although her victory wasn't in a game of football.
The 22-year-old daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates shared on the April 30 episode of Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast that she once ended up at a blackjack table with the seven-time Super Bowl champion during a celebrity fundraiser, where she beat him.
'Well, I'm kind of a loser. So before the party, I had memorized the stats of how you can win blackjack … the best statistical plays to win because it's a game of luck. Right?' recalled Phoebe, alongside Sophia Kianni, her close friend who was at the event and the co-host of their podcast, The Burnouts. 'And somehow I ended up at a table with Tom Brady and I ended up beating him in blackjack, which Sophia will not stop talking about.'
Kianni, 23, chimed in with, 'I talk about it every day,' to which Cooper replied, 'You shouldn't stop talking about that's actually so cool.'
Kianni then referenced an embarrassing, blood-inducing moment when she tumbled down a spiral staircase at the blackjack event, and was subsequently helped up by 25-time Grammy winner Jay-Z.

'I'm gushing blood, losing this game. I have no idea how to play,' Kianni said. 'I look over, and the whole crowd is around Phoebe. The mastermind beating Tom Brady at blackjack. And everyone's like, 'Who is that girl?' '
Phoebe explained, 'I told everyone I was an influencer. I'm like, 'It's called IMG and I model for them. It was tough DNA and IMG, they had a lot of debate over me, but it's you know, it's been a busy career.'
Sometime after besting Brady in blackjack, Phoebe, the co-founder of Phia, a sustainable fashion platform that she and Kianni launched in April, recounted seeing the NFL alum out in public.

'I ran into him once recently and he was like, 'Blackjack.' I'm like, 'Yup,' ' she remembered. 'He doesn't know my name. He just knows I was the girl with like the ink written of the different stats on my hand.'
Phoebe, who is dating Paul McCartney's grandson Arthur Donald, then admitted she's 'nerdy' when asked if she's 'a Beatles person.'
'Oh man, it's so bad. I'm so bad at music. I mean, my family, like, we're so nerdy, so I knew nothing about music — like I knew about tech stuff growing up, not music stuff,' Phoebe confessed.

Browns K Dustin Hopkins looking to rebound in 2025 season

Browns K Dustin Hopkins looking to rebound in 2025 season originally appeared on The Sporting News During the 2022 (L.A. Chargers) and 2023 (Cleveland Browns) seasons, Dustin Hopkins was nearly perfect with a make percentage over 90%. During the 2023 Browns season, Hopkins made 8 of 10 on kicks over 50 yards and became a lethal weapon. Then during the 2024 offseason, he signed a three-year extension worth $15.9 million, and it all went downhill. Last year, Hopkins only made 66.7% of his kicks, which included only four of eight from 50-plus and three missed extra points. Even though last season there were talks about cutting him, he appears to be getting back to form as he kicked a game-winner in practice on Monday. We don't usually hear a ton on kickers out of camp, but seeing him get confidence early should only help his season get off to a better start than last year. Hopkins will be dealing with a short fuse by fans, and a few costly kicks missed at the beginning of the season could easily cost him his job.

Why Jaguars' depth chart reveal was great Travis Hunter fantasy news

The Jacksonville Jaguars currently find themselves in untrodden territory. The team invested quite a bit in moving up to select Travis Hunter at No. 2 in the 2025 NFL draft, and it took the reigning Heisman Trophy winner with the intent to turn him into the NFL's first regular two-way player in more than 60 years. Hunter played most snaps at both receiver and cornerback in college at Colorado, but as of now, it's not exactly clear how the Jaguars intend to use him as a rookie in 2025. However, we may have gotten a bit more clarity as the team released its first depth chart of the season amid training camp. On the depth chart, Hunter is listed as a starting receiver alongside Brian Thomas Jr. and free agent addition Dyami Brown. Meanwhile, he is listed among the second-string cornerbacks, behind starters Tyson Campbell and Jourdan Lewis. That would seemingly indicate that Hunter is going to see the bulk of his snaps on offense, at least to start, and that is certainly a boon for fantasy football managers with Hunter on their team. Hopes are high for the Jaguars' offense in 2025 as the team is now led by Liam Coen, one of the NFL's top offensive coordinators last season. With Coen, a healthy Trevor Lawrence and Thomas, who starred as a rookie last season, this could be a productive unit with Hunter poised to benefit, as well. The only major concern for fantasy managers would be that Hunter's usage on defense could siphon critical snaps away on offense and limit his fantasy production. We'll have to see how Hunter is used when the Jags take the field in preseason for the first time against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, but the team seems to be indicating that fantasy managers can rest easily and most of Hunter's early contributions will be on the offensive side of the ball. Mike Vrabel responds to Terry McLaurin and Micah Parsons buzz

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel would not comment on the team potentially pursuing Washington Commanders All-Pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin or Dallas Cowboys All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons. Parsons recently requested a trade after failing to agree on a contract extension with the Cowboys. McLaurin, who failed to agree on an extension with the Commanders, also voiced his desire to be traded. The Patriots still have major needs at edge rusher and wide receiver. Whether it's McLaurin or Parsons, one would think they'd be interested in the possibility of filling either one of those two positions with one of the best players in the game. Parsons is coming off a 2024 campaign that saw him tally 43 combined tackles, 12 sacks and two forced fumbles. Meanwhile, McLaurin hauled in 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. 'I'm not going to comment on players that are under contract on other teams. Let's focus on the ones that are here that we're working with," said Vrabel. Both players would significantly upgrade either side of the ball for the Patriots. One has to wonder how real the possibility of a trade is at the moment. The Commanders are set to visit Gillette Stadium this week for a joint practice on Wednesday and a preseason game on Friday. It could create a real opportunity for the Patriots to check in on McLaurin. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
