A multi-vehicles collision happened on the border of Brampton and Vaughan that sent five people to hospital and a suspected driver to custody.

Two people are in hospital, including a man in life-threatening condition, following a multi-vehicle collision in Brampton on Saturday afternoon that involved a suspected impaired driver.
Peel police were called for a collision at the intersection of Highway 50 and Coleraine Drive at 4:15 p.m.
Const. Tyler Bell, Peel police's media relations officer, told CP24 that as officers were responding, York Regional Police notified them of an alleged impaired driver operating a white commercial van that exited Highway 27 onto Major Mackenzie Drive and headed west.
When officers arrived, Bell said they found the white commercial van had collided with several vehicles at the intersection.

Bell said a young adult male who was in the sedan was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He added that another occupant is also in hospital in serious condition.
Three others were also taken to the hospital, and Bell said they've all been released.
Bell said the driver of the van was taken into custody for impaired operation. He noted that the driver did not suffer significant injuries.
'We can't comment yet on some of the potential charges to come out of this,' he said.
When asked if speed was a factor in the crash, Bell said, 'Almost undoubtedly.'
'Was it excessive speed or moderate speed? We don't quite know yet,' he added. 'Major Collision Bureau's gonna be on scene and mapping out the collision site, and part of their investigation is going to be a download of that vehicle to see exactly how fast it was travelling.'
Bell said the reports received by the York Regional Police indicated that erratic driving was observed.

On Sunday, Correctional Service Canada said the 69-year-old, who was serving an indeterminate sentence for first-degree murder, had escaped from Archambault Institution in Quebec's Laurentians area. How he was caught The third man, listed in the court document as 'Borland,' led police to the body following his arrest in connection with several robberies. Initially, he attempted to pin the entire crime on Germa, but after taking a polygraph, he admitted he had also stabbed the victim. The two men replaced the mattress where the victim had been sleeping the following day, and that night, they buried the body in another location in Chertsey. The escape On Saturday, Germa was found missing during an inmate count at the minimum-security unit of Archambault Institution, where he was serving his sentence. Germa is the second convicted killer to escape from Archambault in the last three weeks. Fellow inmate Richard Plourde escaped on June 22 and was arrested by Quebec provincial police the following day. The facility is located in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, about 40 kilometres northwest of Montreal, and has housed some notable inmates, including Valery Fabrikant and Luka Magnotta. The Ontario connection On Sunday, police in Ontario announced that Germa may be hiding in southwestern Ontario, more specifically in the South Bruce or Hanover areas, and was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. Teen girl from Almonte, Ont. in critical condition after tree falls on her
Ontario Provincial Police say a 16-year-old girl is in critical condition in hospital after a tree fell on her in Almonte Tuesday morning. OPP say it happened at around 8:21 a.m. as the girl was walking across the intersection of Ann and Church streets. The Township of Mississippi Mills is asking residents to avoid the area of area of Elgin, Church, Ann and High streets in Almonte, as roads are closed.
