1 dead, 1 injured following crash on Hwy. 7 in Central Frontenac, OPP investigating

The Ontario Provincial police (OPP) is investigating a collision that left one dead and another injured on Highway 7 in Central Frontenac Township Saturday afternoon.
Police say they received a call at around 4 p.m., reporting a serious collision between a car and a coach bus on the highway between McQuaid Road and Silver Lake Provincial Park.
Officers say the person who died was the driver of the car, a 29-year-old from Kitchener, Ont.
The driver of the coach bus, which was carrying over 30 passengers, was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.

Injured bear found on Sea-to-Sky Highway euthanized
The Sea to Sky Highway between Squamish and Whistler is shown in this undated photo. ( Officials say a black bear that was found injured on the side of the Sea-to-Sky Highway had to be euthanized. The B.C. Conservation Officer Service told CTV News it was sent to the scene near Squamish late Saturday morning. It is unclear whether the bear was hit by a car or injured in another way. 'The bear was a traffic safety hazard and was unable to leave the scene due to its injuries,' a spokesperson wrote in an email Sunday. 'The bear was assessed to have critical injuries and was euthanized by COs.' The BCCOS thanked members of the public who reported the suffering animal. Several people on local social media groups expressed distain for drivers reportedly pulling over to look at the bear and take pictures. In a comment the Sea to Sky B.C. SPCA said witnesses should consider calling police to report pulled over cars as 'dangerous obstructions.' The BCCOS previously told CTV News stopping cars to view wildlife and approaching bears is dangerous and could lead to fines, after a video of people doing just that drew ire in Whistler. OPP says search for person who fell into Mississippi River while fishing now recovery operation

Ontario Provincial Police say the individual fell overboard while fishing below the Appleton Dam near Appleton, Ont. shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday. 'The dam was shut down and Lanark OPP conducted a search of the area using a civilian boat as well as an OPP Marine Unit boat,' the OPP said on X. 'Some of the individual's belongings were recovered.' Police said the search resumed Sunday morning with the assistance of an OPP drone. 'Unfortunately, the investigation has now turned to recovery,' police said, adding the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will assist with the investigation.
