Kim Soo Hyun loses millions in assets to home appliance brand after luxury apartment seizure; fails to pay damages
The lawsuit was filed by the company's electronic sector, which brings in over 90% of Holdings' revenue. On April 24, they filed a request to freeze about 100 million KRW (roughly $73,500 USD) worth of Kim's personal assets, including his bank accounts and loans, and the paperwork was approved on May 20, according to K-media outlet New Daily.

Earlier, Kim's legal team moved to the National Forensic Service to challenge Garso Sero's evidence, based on which multiple advertisers sued him last month. The YouTube channel's host, Kim Se Ui, had accused the actor of being in an 'inappropriate relationship' with the late Bloodhounds star and released photographs, audio recordings, and more to back his claims, most of which were labelled as fabricated by Kim's agency, Gold Medalist.

On May 2, the advertiser filed another lawsuit, this time demanding 850 million KRW (around $625,000 USD) in damages. This time, they brought in Homesys (a rental services arm), their Malaysian subsidiary, and other CUCKOO Holdings affiliates to file a joint lawsuit against both the actor and his one-man agency, demanding 2.03 billion KRW (around $1.47 million USD) in damages. The case was referred to the 22nd Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court. Meanwhile, the earlier 850 million KRW claim was assigned to the 7th Civil Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court. So now, Kim's legal team will have to fight the same lawsuits in multiple courts. Meanwhile, one of its subsidiaries reportedly filed a 50 million KRW (about $36,600 USD) provisional seizure against Gold Medalist. This was also approved by the court on May 27.
This was followed by an April 25 lawsuit from a cosmetic company that sued the actor, demanding 510 million KRW (roughly $367,000 USD), though the name of the company has not been disclosed yet. The move came just days after a medical aesthetics company seized one of his posh properties in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, freezing it for 3 billion KRW (around $2.21 million USD).
Meanwhile, Kim's fans across the globe have accused these advertisers of riding the actor's success during his peak era and now abandoning him over a controversy that hasn't reached a conclusion yet, causing secondary harm. They stress that these companies are targeting someone who is already facing false allegations. The fans have launched a campaign to boycott these brands.

Delhi: Over 1,200 rolls of Chinese manjha seized, 3 arrested
Ahead of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, the Delhi Police has seized over 1,200 rolls of banned Chinese manjha in the past week and has arrested three men from different places in Delhi. The raids were part of an operation to curb the sale of the illegal thread, police said on Sunday. Chinese manjha uses nylon threads which are sometimes coated with powdered glass. DCP (Crime) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, said that this is a part of a preventive drive before Independence Day. He said Chinese manjha is dangerous to people, birds, and animals. In the past month, two people have died in three separate incidents related to injuries caused by manjha have been reported. The first seizure was conducted at Kamla Market on June 26; the second operation happened in Uttam Nagar on June 27. The third operation took place in Wazirabad on July 5. In total, 1,226 rolls of Chinese manjha were seized. Police have registered three FIRs against the people involved. In the first case, police arrested Raju Chaurasia, 51, from Uttam Nagar. He was running a godown-cum-shop and had 922 rolls of Chinese manjha. 'He previously operated a shop from the ground floor of his residence. He started selling banned Chinese manjha both offline and online due to high profit margins,' DCP Yadav said. In the second case, police arrested Areeb Khan, 22, from Daryaganj. He had 248 rolls of banned string and was caught near Kamla Market. Earlier, Areeb worked at a clothing store but moved to kite-string selling for more profit, the police said. In the third case, Danish Khan, 28, from Babanpuri, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested. Police caught him in Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, with 56 rolls of manjha. He used to make kites but started selling manjha to earn more money. All three men were booked under the Environment Protection Act and sections of the BNS. Police said that they are trying to find out the larger supply network behind this illegal trade.

AR foils ambush near India-Myanmar border, 1 insurgent dead
Dibrugarh: A suspected NSCN-KYA insurgent was killed and a major cache of arms recovered after Assam Rifles personnel repelled a surprise ambush near the India-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh's Longding district on Sunday. The encounter took place during a routine patrol between Khogla and Lyangche villages, when troops from the Wakka Company Operating Base, under the Khonsa Battalion, came under sudden and heavy fire from insurgents hiding in dense jungle terrain. The paramilitary unit's swift response neutralised the threat, averting what could have been a deadly attack. A subsequent search of the area revealed a makeshift hideout and a significant stockpile of war-like stores. The recovered items included five IEDs weighing 15kg, 34 detonators, three pistols (.22 and .32 calibre), 74 live rounds, one Chinese grenade, two walkie-talkies, Indian and Burmese currency, extortion notes, combat clothing, two SIM cards each from India and Myanmar, and other incriminating materials. "The patrol came under sudden and heavy fire from a pre-set ambush deep in jungle terrain. Our troops launched an immediate and effective counter-assault, forcing the insurgents to flee and abandon their position. The scale of the recovery shows a clear intent to carry out hostile activity," said a senior Assam Rifles official. NSCN-KYA, a faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, has long operated along the porous India-Myanmar border and remains a persistent security concern in the region. Longding, in southeastern Arunachal Pradesh, has seen several such encounters in recent years. Its dense forest cover and remote geography make it a favoured transit corridor for insurgent movement between the two countries.
