Isthmian League chairman honoured with Lifetime Achievement
'I did not know anything until I heard, 'when your father was treasurer of a non-league club', that I thought, 'Oh hang on, that is me!',' he said.
'It is my 50th year in football this year, so it is amazing to receive such a recognition.'
Amidst a career of dedicated service to non-league football, Robinson was quick to highlight what he believed was his biggest achievement during his time involved with the Isthmian League, which forms part of Step 3 & 4 of the National League System, alongside both the Northern Premier League and Southern League.
'It has been incredible to see the change in non-league football over those years,' he continued.
'In 1975, the Isthmian League had two divisions, now it has four divisions comprising of 88 clubs.
'We used to have elections to determine promotions, now it is all automatic, right from Step 6 up to Step 1.
'You win a league; you get a promotion. It does not depend on somebody liking you or not liking you. And I think that is the biggest achievement of all my 50 years.
'I am very proud of that. We have now got a perfect pyramid, and I am very proud that I have been a part of being able to put that in place.'
The National Game Awards is a celebration of the non-league season - highlighting the community, fans, on-field, and off-field successes of the game outside of the English Football League.
The ceremony is held each year by the Non-League Paper, the UK's number one selling football title and the best place for your non-league news, with this year's event held at Plough Lane - home of AFC Wimbledon
And when asked whether he had any plans to step away from an active role within non-league football, Robinson was unequivocal in his response.
'No, no, no, absolutely not!' he said with a smile.
'I tried to see every club this year, and I think I failed by about three clubs, but I went to nearly 60 grounds.
'It is a commitment and sometimes you question it, but actually, I love it.
'You go along, you meet people, you shake hands with them, and you try and make a difference.
'It is all about talking to people and finding out what they want. It is not always achievable, but I will always try my best to help.'

"I'm really enjoying working with him as a player and as a person. He's fantastic. "He's even better than I thought he was and I had a really high opinion of him in the first place." And Brooks' response suggests that working with Martin again would certainly appeal. He said: "If he wants to, I'm open to it! "His style of play and the way he is as a guy, I think he's an extremely good manager and he's going to do great things. "If he wants to take me wherever he ends up, then he can do." Brooks underwent a medical with West Brom over the weekend, but reports now claim that the deal is off. Brooks is in the final year of his contract with Bournemouth and is likely to leave this summer. Martin has already raided the south coast club twice this summer to sign Max Aarons and Joe Rothwell. Now with Brooks available and in need of an alternative to the Hawthorns, he's already admitted he'd need little persuading if Martin was to come calling. Hit Netflix series smashes records with 60,100,000 views in just 3 days

The South Korean thriller is by far the most watched series on the streamer with season one securing 265,2m views after its release in 2021, easily taking the crown for number one show globally. Season two, which came out at the end of last year, followed hot on its heels with a respectable 192.6m views. Now, the third season is rounding off an impressive run by securing its own milestone as the biggest TV launch for Netflix ever after totting up an eye-watering 60.1 million views (368.4m hours) in just three days. This means, just a few days after its release, it has already become the ninth biggest non-English language show, and will no doubt join the other seasons at the top of the chart sooner rather than later. For those not in the know, Squid Game follows Player 456, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) who enters a competition with a prize of 45.6billion won (£24.9million). The life-changing money comes with a deadly catch, however, as each task comes to a lethal conclusion with just one person left alive by the end of the games. After winning in the first season, Gi-hun re-enters the game in second season with the sole purpose of enacting revenge. In the final season we see the culmination of Gi-hun's attempts to take the lethal games down from the inside as he goes face-to-face with the overseer, the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). Somehow, after three seasons and a total of 22 episodes, Squid Game manages to pull even more shocks and unexpected twists out of the bag right up until the last minute on screen, including with new games that take the savagery that the contestants are capable of to the next level. As for why season three is nearly perfect, and not a clear 10/10, the main qualm I have pertains to a group of characters shown in the trailer who are so distracting that they bring me back to real life with a sharp jolt – the VIPs. Their presence is jarring and feels unnecessary, even if the intention is to demonstrate who the game is being held for. Squid Game ends the way that it began – with audiences on the edges of their seat, questioning their morals, transfixed by the brutality of human beings but also hopeful that even in the darkest of times, goodness will prevail. A true TV masterpiece. The highly-anticipated finale, which somehow gorier than ever, has received mixed reviews from critics. 'The third season's worldbuilding efforts remain frustratingly unimaginative for the most part, although the season's final 10 minutes deliver some of its most glorious moments that take place outside the games,' The Verge wrote in a review. 'It brings me no pleasure to report that the third and thankfully last of Squid Game seasons only confirms that we, like Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), should've left that cursed island behind for good after his first victory,' Hollywood Reporter said. Meanwhile The Wrap argued: 'The show proves it's still more than capable of rendering a tragically compelling story that manages to entertain and have you emotionally invested in its characters. Brendan Rodgers turns Robbie Savage consultant as Celtic boss advice before taking Forest Green Rovers job revealed
The ex Premier League star is the new boss of the ambitious National League side Robbie Savage has revealed he sounded out Brendan Rodgers and Martin O'Neill before accepting the job at Forest Green Rovers. The former Wales international has taken charge of the National League side after four years with Macclesfield Town. After serving as a board member with the English minnows, Savage was appointed as manager last year and led the club to the Northern Premier League title last season to take them up to the sixth tier. But the confident Welshman has now stepped up a division to take up the reins at Forest Green, who missed out on promotion back to the EFL last month with a defeat to Southend United in the play-off semi final. And the 50-year-old says he consulted the two Celtic heroes before saying yes to the ambitious Gloucestershire, having enjoyed success as a player under O'Neill at Leicester City, where the Foxes won the League Cup back in 2000. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Fortunately for me I have worked with some unbelievable people. "I spoke to Martin O'Neill yesterday who is more than willing to come down, sit with me and have a coffee. "I've spoke to Brendan Rodgers and Sean Dyche, real football people. As soon as this opportunity came about they said 'it's an unbelievable opportunity for you. "As a manager I have tried to take little snippets from each one but I think I am a good motivator, a good man-manager and I believe I know how to get the best out of a collective and more importantly an individual. "I have been in their shoes numerous times and have suffered disappointments and experienced highs and lows. "If I can take little things from everybody, I think we'll do well." Savage's relationship with Brendan Rodgers is perhaps a result of his backing for the Irishman during his sticky patch in charge of Leicester. Rodgers faced calls for the sack in some quarters following a heavy 4-1 FA Cup defeat to then Championship side Nottingham Forest in February 2022, having won the competition the year before. Leicester had failed to get past the group stages of the Europa League that season but manage to reach the last four of the Conference League after dropping into the third tier competition. But following the loss to Forest, Savage came out in defence of the ex Liverpool boss, branding calls for him to get the boot as 'nonsense'. He told BT Sport: It's absolute nonsense, isn't it? Two fifth placed finishes, an FA Cup victory, rebuilding squads, the recruitment - surely he has credit in the bank for what he has achieved at Leicester. "It's one of the best Premier League appointments in recent years, one of them, for what he's done with that side. "He needs his best players on the pitch on a regular basis to compete. To compete for Champions League, Leicester City - they were in League One not so long ago. He's done amazing." Rodgers' ultimately left the Foxes by mutual consent in April 2023 shortly before their relegation from the Premier League, sealing his return to Celtic two and a half months later.
