He was an assistant at that time under his brother, BR Chopra. He used to like me. I'm not saying I was very beautiful; I was reasonable, so he used to like me. I was young and he was an assistant. Unhone bohot sharafat se, tameez se mujhe shaadi offer kari (He, very decently and respectfully, proposed marriage to me). He said, 'Moti Moti (Hindi playful jibe at obesity), I love you', and I said, 'No, I want to focus on work, I want to get somewhere'."advertisementShe recalled the kind of man Chopra was. Mumtaz, who later got married to businessman Mayur Madhvani, shared that Chopra was extremely respectful of his conduct. "Bohut hi acche insaan the. Unke jaisa accha insaan aur director bohut kum hai. Unka beta Aditya bhi ab accha director hai. Par unone bohut izzat se mujhe shaadi offer ki thi, aisa nahi ki line maar rahe hai. Voh bohot shareef insaan the. Fir jab unhone shaadi ki, toh main unki shaadi mein bhi gayi. (He was a very good person. There are very few good people and directors like him. His son Aditya is also a good director now. But, he had very respectfully proposed marriage to me - it wasn't like he was hitting on me. He was a very decent man. Later, when he got married, I even attended his wedding). We were very, very good friends."advertisement

No food, just water for 9 days: Nargis Fakhri explains her fitness secret but doesn't recommend it

After a break from the limelight, actress Nargis Fakhri has returned with the upcoming comedy film Housefull 5, featuring a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sanjay Dutt. While her film choices have been selective, Nargis has consistently been in the public eye for her health and wellness practices. In a recent interview, she revealed the unconventional method she uses to maintain a sharp jawline and glowing skin—fasting on just water for nine days, twice a year. Water-Only Fasting for 18 Days a Year Speaking with Soha Ali Khan on Hauterrfly's YouTube channel, Nargis shared details of her rigorous detox routine. She said she undergoes complete fasting—no food, just water—for nine days at a time, twice a year. While she admitted the results are visibly striking, with improved facial definition and skin clarity, she was clear that the method is extremely difficult and not something she would recommend to others. The revelation visibly shocked Soha during the conversation. Nargis acknowledged that many people search for quick fixes when it comes to fitness , but she insisted there is no shortcut to health. She said her own results come from a balanced approach rather than just extreme measures. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Most Gorgeous Female Athletes Ranked. 'It's always a combination,' she explained, referring to her regular habits like sleeping at least eight hours every night and staying hydrated. She also focuses on eating nutritious foods that are rich in essential vitamins and minerals. The emphasis, she stressed, is on long-term wellness rather than crash diets or quick solutions. Sleep, Hydration, and Meal Timing Other Bollywood celebrities have also embraced holistic approaches to health. Kareena Kapoor Khan, for instance, recently shared her routine of having dinner by 6:30 p.m. and maintaining an early bedtime. Veteran actress Mumtaz spoke in a Radio Nasha interview about cutting off meals entirely by 5–6 p.m. following a recommendation by Akshay Kumar. She also sticks to clean eating, regular workouts, and strict personal care habits. Mindful Living Over Fads Although fasting plays a role in Nargis's regimen, she made it clear that long-term discipline is what keeps her fit at 45. She focuses on quality sleep, hydration, and balanced meals. Her message aligns with what several celebrities now promote—a shift from fad diets to a more sustainable and realistic lifestyle. Nargis Fakhri made her debut in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar and later did roles in Madras Cafe, Main Tera Hero, and Housefull 3.

From tweet to treat: Superfan Ranjith 'overwhelmed' by Neeraj Chopra's heartfelt gesture

Bengaluru: For Ranjith Kumar Ravichandran, a die-hard fan of Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj Chopra, it was nothing short of a dream come true as his travel and stay to witness the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic has been sponsored by none other than the reigning world champion himself. Ranjith, who hails from Coimbatore, had taken to social media to ask for help in attending India's first international javelin competition slated for Saturday evening in Bengaluru. "If anyone can sponsor me ₹2,000, I can go to watch this from Coimbatore," he posted on X on June 25. Neeraj replied a day later, offering him a complete VVIP experience and a five-star hotel stay. 'Hi, Ranjith. You've got a full VVIP experience waiting for you in Bengaluru because your trip to @nc_classic is on me! And thanks to @RadissonHotels, you'll be staying about 90 metres away from me. See you soon!' Chopra posted. Speaking to IANS just before the event, Ranjith said, 'I couldn't believe it was really happening. I was extremely overwhelmed — it felt surreal to even receive a reply from Neeraj Chopra himself. I couldn't believe it at first. No one could have planned for something like this. After all, it's not every day you get to meet a champion.' 'Nobody in my family believed it at first, just like me. I had to explain to them, 'Yes, it's really happening,' and walk them through everything. But in the end, everyone was happy — my friends, my family — they were all genuinely excited,' he added. Adding to the charm surrounding the event, Chopra also had an unplanned encounter with an elderly fan during a walk through the streets of Bengaluru earlier this week. Calling him a "kind-hearted uncle", the interaction was shared via a reel on the Neeraj Chopra Classic's official Instagram handle. 'Sometimes, the best moments aren't planned. A quiet street in Bengaluru. A kind-hearted uncle. And a javelin legend who never forgets where he comes from,' read the caption. As a World Athletics-sanctioned Gold event, the Neeraj Chopra Classic promises to elevate India's status on the global athletics map. It will feature a stellar line-up of elite javelin throwers. The event will see the participation of global javelin stars, including Chopra, Thomas Rohler, Julius Yego, and others. Chopra played a pivotal role in the staging of the event in India.
