Iraq Stock Exchange trades over 7 billion dinars this week
According to the market indicators, the total number of shares traded this week surpassed 3 billion, with a financial value exceeding 7 billion Dinars. These transactions were executed through 4,493 buy and sell contracts on the shares of companies listed on the exchange.
The ISX60 trading index closed at 988.37 points for the first session of the week and finished the week at 990.05 points, marking an increase of 0.17% from its opening close. Similarly, the ISX15 trading index opened the week at 1120.15 points and closed at 1138.27 points by the end of the week, achieving a 1.59% increase from its opening close.

Iraq exports over 600 million barrels of oil in 2025's first half
Baghdad ( – The State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO) revealed on Thursday that Iraq's oil exports during the first half of 2025 surpassed 600 million barrels. According to the figures, Iraq's total oil exports in the first half of the year were 606.58 million barrels, representing 101.09 million barrels per month. SOMO reported that revenue generated from oil exports in March, April, May, and June totaled $27.5 billion. Due to ongoing production cuts in line with OPEC+ agreements and additional voluntary reductions, Iraq's average crude oil and derivative exports fell by 110,000 barrels per day in the first quarter of 2025. Iraq's average crude oil and petroleum derivative exports during 2024 increased to 3.64 million barrels per day compared to 3.55 million barrels per day in 2023. Over 70 percent of Iraq's oil exports in the first quarter of 2025 were sent to Asian buyers, who continued to be the largest consumers of Iraqi oil. The top three countries on the list were China (1.34 million barrels per day), India (940,000 barrels per day), and South Korea (380,000 barrels per day).

Iraq aims to produce 12,000 megawatts from renewable energy
Baghdad ( – Deputy Oil Minister Ali Maarej said on Thursday that the ministry continues to increase solar energy projects to reach a production capacity of 12,000 megawatts by 2030. Maarej's remarks took place during a conference held by the Iraqi Oil Ministry, in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), to address the Iraq Energy Transition Assessment Report, prepared by the agency in cooperation with Iraqi institutions, the state-run news agency (INA) reported. The report is intended to be a helpful resource for identifying national renewable energy priorities and promoting energy efficiency. Iraq's electricity shortage, one of the main issues facing the current government, may be strategically resolved with solar energy. Accordingly, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani and the Ministry of Electricity unveiled earlier a collaborative strategy to generate 12,000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2030. According to Abdul-Ghani, one of the main solutions to increase Iraq's electricity output is the use of solar energy, which is a top priority for the government. The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Oil are collaborating on a plan to boost solar energy production to over 5,000 megawatts in the first phase, which would culminate in the production of 12,000 megawatts of clean energy. Upon the completion of the government's plan, the electricity Iraq will generate is expected to meet the local demand.
