BG holds off tough Clearfield squad

Yahoo08-02-2025
ALTOONA (WTAJ) — Defending champion Bishop Guilfoyle seems prized to chase a consecutive 1A championship, picking up its 18th win in a tight 58-55 win over Clearfield on Friday.
The Bison led early in the fourth, as freshman Eve Helsel scored 26-points in the loss. But playing just six-girls deep, the Clearfield's depth caught up to them late. Buckets by Maurie Querry and Anberlyn Petrecca got the Lady Marauders back on top where they'd herd off the Bison.
Bishop Guilfoyle moves to 18-2 on the season, while the Bison slip to 13-5.
Off the court, Friday's game was a Sideline Cancer matchup, BG fans raised $10,500.
