A one-year-old cat with an unusual passion is still searching for her forever home from a shelter in Austin, Texas.
Lamby, affectionately dubbed the "Lambinator," has taken up residence at Austin Pets Alive!'s (APA!) Cesar Chavez location, where her passion for stuffed lambs has been melting hearts.
The black-and-white tuxedo cat has won over shelter staff, and Instagram followers alike, with her infectious energy, playful spirit, and unusual obsession: collecting plush lamb toys.
In a viral photo shared by APA! on Instagram, Lamby was lounging regally amid her ever-growing flock of sheep-themed toys.
"Lambinator came to APA! from a local rescue partner in August of 2023 with a history of a tail pull injury (lower motor neuron injury) which has caused her to have an abnormal gait in her hindlimbs and she is also incontinent due to this," APA! told Newsweek.
But Lamby isn't just a pretty face with a quirky hobby. "She has a happy and enthusiastic energy that is contagious," the shelter said. "She is a one-cat welcome committee to all visitors, meeting newcomers at the door and eager to introduce herself to everyone who comes by."

The young cat loves to run, climb, and splash around in water, she is just as comfortable scaling heights as she is curling up in a warm lap—or even perched on your shoulder. She adores both kids and adults, is even friendly with big dogs, and other cats. "She purrs up a storm each time she's picked up," the shelter said.
Lamby does need some specialist care. She came to the shelter with a tail pull injury that left her incontinent. But with a simple daily bladder expression, which is said to be easily done with no vet experience required, along with her signature washable diapers, she handles her routine like a pro, and shelter staff say it doesn't slow her down one bit.
"It is kind of heartbreaking to think that she could be passed over because she needs some special care. Lamby has so much love to give, a sunny disposition and a happy temperament, and she simply needs wonderful people to share it with," the shelter said.
Still waiting for her perfect person, APA! explained: "Her ideal home is someone who is patient and willing to learn how to express her. Also, a home where she can transition easily. Lambinator does well with kids and would likely do well with other furry friends. She would excel in any home with people able to open their hearts to a cat who needs just a little extra care."
After the APA! team shared Lamby's story on Instagram last week, it quickly amassed thousands of comments as people rushed to send their love to the cat. "Awhh if I lived closer I would bring her home immediately," said Floreyrey.
While Instagram user Msrebeccasweat commented: "My cat is obsessed with Lammies too! Hope Lamby finds a home soon!"

The Saddest Restaurant Closures to Know in Los Angeles, July 2025

is an editor of the Southern California/Southwest region, who covers the evolving landscape of LA's food scene. Los Angeles's restaurants continue to face difficult headwinds, starting in 2020 with the onset of a global pandemic and exacerbating with the Hollywood labor strikes in 2023, which led to an industry-wide slowdown that's continued into 2025. From the lingering impacts of the Hollywood strikes to increased costs (labor, rent, ingredients, etc.), many variables continue to batter restaurant owners who operate on razor-thin margins. Los Angeles restaurants also continue to struggle with the impact of the 2025 fires, including slow business and devastating property loss, as well as the ongoing effects of ICE enforcement. Here are notable restaurant closures for July. For more closure news, read our past closure coverage. MXO— Wes Avila's Monterrey-inspired West Hollywood steakhouse, MXO, suddenly shuttered this summer after less than a year open. A representative for the restaurant initially stated that the closure was temporary, but later confirmed the restaurant's permanent closure. The closure leaves Avila, who has been an influential force in Los Angeles's dining scene for years, with Ka'Teen as his only restaurant in the city. Melody— Virgil Village wine bar Melody closed on July 12 after eight years in the neighborhood. Owner Eric Tucker announced the closure of Melody in an Instagram post on July 2, thanking the staff and customers for the years of support. While Melody is technically closed, Tucker is operating 'Bar Band-Aid' out of the bungalow until he finds someone to take over the space. My 2 Cents— Los Angeles soul food staple My 2 Cents is closing on July 31. Founded in 2013 by Alisa Reynolds and her pastry chef sister, Theresa Fountain, the restaurant developed a following for its gluten-free barbecue fried chicken, catfish, brown sugar caramel cake, and more. After My 2 Cents' closure, it will transition to a catering option, and sell merchandise. Mother Tongue— Michael Mina's Mother Tongue, set on the rooftop of fitness club Heimat, suddenly shuttered in June with no announcement. The restaurant's Instagram has also been removed. Mother Tongue first debuted in 2022 with a menu of globally-inspired dishes that catered to a high-end wellness lifestyle. Shibumi— David Schlossler's Japanese kaiseki restaurant Shibumi closed on July 19, less than a month after retaining its Michelin star. 'Shibumi was a revelation in 2015 Los Angeles,' Schlossler wrote in the closure announcement on Instagram, before teasing that there's 'more to come soon.' Cabra— The Hoxton's rooftop restaurant Cabra is closing on July 31, and throwing a party to say goodbye. The restaurant from Stephanie Izard opened in 2022, serving a Peruvian-inflected menu of dishes like ceviche and skirt steak saltado. A new operator for the Hoxton's rooftop restaurant has not been announced yet. Chin Chin— Chin Chin, a decades-old Chinese restaurant along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, closed on July 27, 2025 after more than 40 years. Chin Chin's other locations in Brentwood, Studio City, and Las Vegas remain open. First opened in 1983, the restaurant became a celebrity hangout over the years, and a favorite for its signature Chinese chicken salad. According to the closure announcement, Chin Chin is searching for a new location for the restaurant. Chad Michael Murray on Possible 'One Tree Hill' Reboot

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Chad Michael Murray, who played Lucas on the 2000s drama One Tree Hill, told Newsweek that a reboot could give today's teens a show to relate to as they navigate the "current trials and tribulations of being a high school kid" in the age of social media. The 43-year-old actor sat down with Newsweek this week discuss Freakier Friday, the highly anticipated sequel of Freaky Friday, his journey with mental health, reflections on his career, and the passion that continues to fuel his love for acting. What To Know Murray laughed when asked about the rumored reboot of One Tree Hill, telling Newsweek: "I don't have an answer for you." Newsweek has reached out to Netflix for comment via email. He did, however, speak to the value that a reboot might add, especially for today's younger generation. "The only thing I can say is that if they do a reboot, I think it would be really cool for the younger generation to have a show that they can identify with that deals with the current trials and tribulations of being a high school kid because, holy crap, like wow," he said. "I'm so grateful that I didn't grow up in the time of social media." Actor Chad Michael Murray speaks at the Newsweek office in Manhattan on July 29, 2025. Actor Chad Michael Murray speaks at the Newsweek office in Manhattan on July 29, 2025. Hellen Elizondo for Newsweek Murray continued by noting the difficulties of coming of age in the digital era. "I mean you screw up once and everybody in the school talks about it for the entire longevity of your career and then you get out and you aren't able to get away from it, so I hope there is a show out there that focuses on kids dealing with the current world," he said. The actor has repeatedly said he makes movies to offer audiences a brief escape from the various stresses of life, telling Newsweek that he wanted to become an actor in the first place to "make people happy." Austin Nichols, who played Julian Baker in the series, recently told People that while he doesn't know all the details about a potential reboot, "they made a deal with Netflix and they're working on the scripts." The show ran for nine seasons between 2003 and 2012. Nichols added: "I know there's been some notes going back and forth, so it's in a really good place. It's in a healthy place." Sophia Bush, who played Brooke Davis in the series, talked about reports of the reboot with ComingSoon, saying in June that "the pre-production stuff is tricky, but development is going very well. We'll see where we wind up." Deadline reported in 2024 that the reboot is in development. During Murray's conversation with Newsweek, he said that at times the One Tree Hill set was "an unhealthy environment for everybody. It was not a great set to be on," noting that while there were "some great people, some great actors," there was minimal leadership. Chad Michael Murray on Freakier Friday "Dare I say, it might be better than the first," said Murray, who reprises his role as Jake in the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 2003 comedy Freaky Friday, which also sees the return of original stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. "It really genuinely is hysterical," he said about the upcoming film, joking that "it will make you live longer," adding that it is "going to lower your cortisol" and put the view on "cloud nine." Freakier Friday premieres on August 8.

Justin Timberlake reveals Lyme disease diagnosis

People in entertainment Music FacebookTweetLink Justin Timberlake is sharing that he has been 'battling some health issues' as he concludes his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, including that he was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease. The 'Mirrors' singer opened up about his diagnosis in an Instagram post Thursday, writing that he wanted to 'shed some light' on what he's been going through behind the scenes. 'Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,' Timberlake wrote. 'When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.' Lyme disease is a bacterial infection, with the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi being the most common cause, Dr. Leana Wen previously told CNN. Wen is an emergency physician and professor of health policy and management at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. Lyme disease is transmitted through the bite of a particular tick, the black-legged tick. There are three stages of Lyme disease, which can include flu-like symptoms, dizziness, chest pain, palpitations, arthritis, facial nerve paralysis, ongoing joint pain, fatigue, depression, palpitations, and other neurological, rheumatological and cardiac involvement. Timberlake went on to say this week that he was 'faced' with a decision to stop touring or to keep going, writing that 'the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling.' 'I'm so glad I kept going,' he wrote. Timberlake has been on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour since April 2024, and performed his final show on Wednesday in Istanbul. In his post on Thursday, Timberlake celebrated his experience while candidly questioning what his Lyme disease diagnosis means for his future on stage. 'There really is no way to put into words the feeling of being on a stage and getting to share the experience of live music with all of you. It's a vibration of frequency that is unmatched,' he wrote. 'I honestly don't know what my future is onstage but I'll always cherish this run!' Timberlake acknowledged that while he's typically a private person and was initially 'reluctant' to speak about his health, he is choosing to open up about it now because he's 'trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they aren't misinterpreted,' and wants to 'help others.' 'Sharing all of this with the hope that we can all find a way to be more connected,' he added. 'I'd like to do my part to help others experiencing this disease too.'
