Hearts have signed Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota from Italian side Sambenedettese.
The 23-year-old has moved to Tynecastle on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval.
He joins Derek McInnes' squad from Italy's third tier after scoring 10 goals to help Sambenedettese to the Serie D title last season.
The Hearts head coach says he is pleased to add Kerjota to his side ahead of the new season.
McInnes said: 'I'm pleased that we've been able to bring Sabah in to give us more options on the wings.
'He's had a really productive few seasons in Italy and although Scottish football will be a new experience for him, we've seen attributes that we feel can make him a success here.
'Sabah will need to do a bit of fitness work to bring him up to speed, but I'm looking forward to seeing him on the pitch once he's ready.'

Mikel Arteta explains why Arsenal were so determined to finally complete Viktor Gyokeres deal

Viktor Gyokeres has sealed his move to Arsenal as the Gunners completed a deal £63.7million to finally land Mikel Arteta a goalscorer and continue a busy summer of business Mikel Arteta has lauded the signing of Viktor Gyokeres after Arsenal confirmed the £63.7million transfer. The Sweden international has signed a long term deal with the Gunners after participating in one of the transfer sagas of the summer. ‌ Gyokeres, 27, went on strike in order to try force Sporting CP into accepting a lower transfer fee that he claimed they had agreed today. This led to the Portuguese club's president Frederico Verandas releasing a stunning statement saying he would not be blackmailed. ‌ Ultimately, Gyokeres' agent Hasan Cetinkaya — a key figure in the disagreement — decided to waive his fee so that Arsenal could come to an agreement with Sporting. ‌ But Gyokeres offers the north London side something they have seemingly lacked for much of Arteta's tenure in charge — a goalscorer. The ex-Coventry and Brighton forward bagged 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting and Arsenal will hope he can replicate that kind of form in the Premier League. "We're absolutely delighted to welcome Viktor Gyökeres to the club," Arteta said. "The consistency he has shown in his performances and availability have been outstanding, and his goal contributions speak for themselves. 'Viktor has so many qualities. He is a quick and powerful presence up front, with incredible goalscoring numbers at club and international levels. He brings a clinical edge with a high conversion rate of chances into goals, with his intelligent movement in the box making him a constant threat. 'We're excited about what Viktor brings to our squad and are looking forward to start working with him. We welcome Viktor and his family to Arsenal." Sporting director Andrea Berta offered a similar number of superlatives for their new signing. The Italian outlined three areas that makes Gyokeres an ideal addition to Arsenal's vision and believes the forward will have an impact on and off the pitch. ‌ "We are so pleased with the excellent deal we have completed to bring Viktor Gyökeres to the club," he said. "Viktor is an exceptional talent and has consistently demonstrated he has the qualities and winning mentality required of a top-level centre-forward. His physicality, intelligence and work ethic make him a perfect fit for our vision. 'We are confident Viktor will have a major impact on the pitch and become an important figure in our dressing room. Welcome, Viktor!'

Newcastle United plot move for £50m Chelsea striker to replace Alexander Isak

Newcastle United are interested in a deal to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as a replacement for Alexander Isak, according to reports. Eddie Howe's side have ramped up plans to sign a new forward after Isak told the club he wanted to leave St James' Park in the summer window. Isak has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool, who are believed to be plotting a massive offer for the Swede. Newcastle are considering a number of players to replace Isak and have now added Jackson to their list of potential options, the Daily Mail report. Jackson, who scored 10 Premier League goals in 30 games last term, has also attracted interest from Manchester United ahead of the new season. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. The 24-year-old Senegal international has been at Stamford Bridge since June 2023, with the Blues paying a £32m fee to sign him from Villarreal. It's believed that Chelsea want around £50m in order to let Jackson leave the west London club, with the player under contract until 2033. Jackson has played a total of 81 games for Chelsea to date across all competitions, producing 30 goals and 12 assists. It was reported in June that Italian side Juventus had made contact with Jackson's representatives and were considering a bid for the player. Arsenal have also been linked to Chelsea striker Jackson this summer – and the same is true for AC Milan – as well as Aston Villa. Chelsea have brought in two new strikers this summer with Liam Delap arriving from Ipswich and Joao Pedro coming in from Brighton. That has called into question their plans for Jackson, who now faces a lot of competition up front and may well have fallen down the pecking order. It should be noted, though, that Jackson is not the only striker Newcastle are looking at as a potential replacement for wantaway star Isak. More Trending Ollie Watkins is thought to be a possible option for Newcastle, although it remains to be seen if Aston Villa would allow him to join a top-flight rival. Newcastle are also weighing up a move for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, who scored 19 Premier League goals in 35 games last season. The Magpies have made an enquiry for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko too. Craig Gordon has revealed that he will not be fit in time for Hearts' Scottish Premiership opener against Aberdeen next week and will likely miss a decent chunk of the early stages of the new campaign. The 42-year old was honoured at Tynecastle with a testimonial match as the Jambos comfortably saw of English Premier League side Sunderland 3-0. Gordon, the man of the moment, started the game but immediately booted the ball out of play and was subbed off for Zander Clark. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad After the match, he revealed the extent of his ongoing injury problem, saying: 'I was desperate to try and play longer in the game, but it became too difficult. The medical team didn't want me to do it. It was too dangerous for them to allow me to play any longer than that, so it became the decision that I would start the game, but I have to come off.' Craig Gordon to miss Hearts vs Aberdeen Scottish Premiership opener and more He continued: 'It's more than a few weeks away, so it's not anything that's that close at the moment, but I need to keep working away. Everything this week was geared towards this game, but now it's finished. 'I'll get back into the rehab this week and keep pushing to see how quickly I can get back. There's no real time limit on it. It's very difficult to say how long I'll be out for, but I'll just get back in the gym and work as hard as I can to make that as short a time as possible. 'I had a disc problem in my neck and it's caused a nerve problem down my arm. I'm not in any pain. The nerve causes a bit of tingling down my arm and it's caused a little bit of weakness in my arm. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Basically, if I can get rid of the weakness and get the strength back, then I'm good to go. Everything else feels really good. I can do everything else in training, but the strength just isn't there at the moment to be able to deal with a full game. 'That's the focus over the next few weeks, to try and build that up. It's not going to be straightforward, but it's something that I'm working on. It's just a rehab. For me, it's about trying to get back as quickly as possible, get myself out on the training pitch and join in with the boys and start trying to push to get back in the team.' Asked if it could require surgery, Gordon said: 'I wouldn't have thought so. I've seen the specialists and it doesn't look like it, but it will take a bit of time.' Special afternoon for Hearts' hero Craig Gordon as home and away fans show appreciation Despite not being able to play the way he wanted to, Gordon was still full of appreciation for the almost 18,000 supporters that showed up at Tynecastle. Both sets of fans let him know just how much they appreciated his contribution to their clubs. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Today has been brilliant,' said Gordon. 'Right from the very beginning, I was here three or four hours kick-off and seeing the lounges, seeing as many people as I could. 'I was out in the plaza for a bit with all the activities going on out there, signing autographs, taking pictures and just trying to see as many of the fans as I could. Thank everybody for coming. It's been a huge turnout. 'One of the best friendly attendances or testimonial attendances I can ever remember at Hearts. That is very just shows what the Hearts fans can do. We get semi-finals, finals, they turn up their numbers, they sell out their allocation and today they've proved that to me once again by turning up huge numbers for this. How special a fan they really are. 'I've had messages from other players that I've played with this morning wishing me all the best and former coaches. All those things, it's been a crazy day. There's been so much. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'We're going home for a rest now but the amount of messages from everybody, fans, former teammates, coaches, it's been totally overwhelming. It's been a fantastic day, one I'll never forget. I mean everybody's just wishing me well and hoping that the day goes well. Asking if I was playing, everybody wanting to know how I was getting on with the injury.'
