Actor allegedly involved in sexual misconduct to be charged on June 17
Selangor Police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the prosecution directive against the suspect was received today from the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor's Office.
'The suspect will be charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for committing physical sexual misconduct against the victim.
'The Royal Malaysia Police is committed to ensuring justice is served. A thorough investigation was conducted to protect the victim's rights and uphold the transparency of the legal process,' he said in a statement today.
On June 4, it was reported that police arrested a well-known actor and singer for allegedly committing sexual misconduct against a teenage girl at a hotel in the state.

(Bernama pic) MUAR : Police have crippled an international drug trafficking syndicate following four simultaneous raids in Johor and the Klang Valley on July 21, during which more than RM2 million worth of drugs were seized. Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Hussein Omar Khan said the raids, which took place between 2pm and 5pm, were based on intelligence gathered since October 2024. They resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals – eight men, one woman, and a foreign man – aged between 29 and 70. 'The first raid, conducted in Parit Pulai, Parit Jawa, Muar, led to the arrest of a local man driving a car,' he said at a press conference at the Muar district police headquarters today. 'An inspection of the vehicle uncovered 51 plastic packets containing drugs believed to be methamphetamine, weighing a total of 51.1kg.' He said two other individuals – a local man and woman – were also arrested during follow-up inspections in the same area. In the second raid, at a house in Tanjung Labuh, Batu Pahat, police arrested a local man believed to be the syndicate leader. The third raid, conducted at Jalan Parit Bakar, Muar, resulted in the arrest of five more suspects. In the fourth raid, conducted at a house in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, police arrested another local man and seized drugs believed to be methamphetamine weighing 10.2kg, along with 105 ecstasy pills weighing 51.3g. In total, authorities confiscated 61.3kg of methamphetamine and 105 ecstasy pills, with an estimated market value of RM2 million. The seized drugs were enough to impact approximately 306,756 individuals. Hussein said further investigations revealed that five of the suspects were key members of a drug trafficking network targeting the Indonesian market. Their roles included acting as land coordinators, boat operators, and couriers tasked with smuggling drugs across the border via waterways. 'They were involved in drug trafficking full-time without holding any permanent jobs, and received monthly payments ranging from RM3,000 to RM15,000,' he said. Six of the suspects tested positive for drugs, including ketamine, methamphetamine, THC, and benzodiazepines. Three individuals were found to have criminal records related to narcotics and firearms. Police also seized assets with an estimated worth of RM725,655 under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, including five cars of various makes, two Yamaha T-Max motorcycles, luxury watches, jewellery, nine branded handbags and wallets, as well as RM2,580 in cash. The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Police smash international drug syndicate spanning KL to Johor, with RM2.7m in drugs and assets seized
MUAR, Aug 1 — Police have crippled an international drug trafficking syndicate operating a nationwide network and smuggling drugs via sea routes after arresting 10 suspects and seizing around RM2.7 million worth of drugs and assets. Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the success of the arrest was the result of simultaneous raids in Muar and Batu Pahat, as well as Cheras in Kuala Lumpur, between 2pm and 5pm on July 21. 'In the raids, ten suspects, aged between 29 and 70, were arrested.' 'The raiding team also seized 61.3 kilogrammes (kg) of methamphetamine and 51.3 grammes (g) of ecstasy pills worth RM2 million,' he told reporters at the Muar district police headquarters here today. In addition to narcotics, police also seized several vehicles, cash, bags and luxury watches worth RM725,655, bringing the total estimated value of the drugs and assets seized and confiscated to RM2.7 million. Also present were Hussein's deputy director Mat Zani @ Mohd Salahuddin Che Ali and Muar police chief Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz. Hussein said the syndicate had been active since last October, using terrace houses as drug storage locations before marketing them to the international market via sea routes using boats. He said the syndicate involves several independent groups that store the drugs in the Klang Valley before distributing them to Johor. Hussein said the syndicate's activity was uncovered after police stopped a luxury car in Parit Pulai in Parit Jawa here and arrested a man where police found 51 green, blue and red plastic packages suspected to contain methamphetamine weighing approximately 51kg. 'Police then conducted follow-up raids in the house and around the Parit Pulai area before a married couple was arrested. Five more suspects, including a foreigner, were arrested in Parit Bakar here. 'Police also arrested a male suspect in Batu Pahat who we believed was the syndicate leader, while the last suspect was arrested at a house in Cheras,' he said, adding that investigators also found 17 plastic packets containing methamphetamine weighing 10kg and 105 ecstasy pills weighing an estimated 51g. Hussein said the syndicate members were receiving wages ranging from RM3,000 to RM15,000 a month, while six of the suspects were positive for ketamine, methamphetamine and marijuana abuse during drug screening. He said three of the suspects had previous police records related to firearms and drug activities. Over the years, Johor has been a favourite destination for illicit drug syndicates that take advantage of the state's many sea routes and porous border.

Nine of those detained, including a woman, were Malaysian citizens, while one was a foreign man. They were between the ages of 29 and 70. Hussein said the syndicate had been active since October last year and had used a terrace house in Muar as a storage facility before smuggling the drugs, meant for the international market, using sea routes to a neighbouring country. "In the first raid, we arrested a local male suspect in Parit Pulai, Parit Jawa, Muar. A search of his car uncovered 51 plastic packages containing 51kg of methamphetamine. "In follow-up operations, at a house in the Parit Pulai area, we arrested a married couple. Another five suspects, including one foreigner, were detained in Parit Bakar, Muar. "One more suspect was arrested in Batu Pahat and was believed to be the leader of the syndicate, while the final suspect was apprehended at a house in Cheras. "A search at the premises uncovered 17 plastic packets containing 10kg of methamphetamine and 105 ecstasy pills weighing about 51gm," he told a press conference held at Muar district police headquarters. He said the suspects admitted to receiving monthly payments of between RM3,000 and RM15,000 for their involvement in the syndicate, adding that three of the suspects had prior criminal records related to firearms and drug offences. Hussein said the seized drugs were potentially enough to fuel the habit of 306,000 individuals. "Police also seized several assets, including vehicles, cash and luxury watches, bringing the total value of the confiscated items to RM2.7 million. "The syndicate comprised several groups that sourced drugs and stored them in the Klang Valley before distributing part of the supply to Johor," he said.
