‘Queen's Night' probe widens: Police warn remaining eHati participants to come forward or face arrest
SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has urged members of the public who took part in the eHati 'Queen's Night' marriage motivation programme to give their statements at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) as soon as possible. He said they have identified around 50 participants, of whom 30 have been interviewed. The remaining individuals have been asked to come forward or face arrest. 'We have already recorded statements from several participants. However, there are still individuals, including public sector employees, who were involved and have yet to step forward. We will not hesitate to arrest them,' Hussein said. The case is being investigated under Section 209 (false claims), Section 14 (minor offences), and Section 294 of the Penal Code, which includes offences committed under the guise of religion. Among those arrested are six individuals — four women and two men — believed to be married couples who participated in the so-called Queen's Night session, a four-day, three-night retreat offered under 'Package B' of the eHati programme. Queen's Night reportedly involved nudity and lewd acts. Police have also seized various items from the event, including ribbons and liquids believed to have been used during ritual-like activities. These materials have been sent to the Ministry of Health for further analysis to determine whether they contain banned substances or drugs. 'This programme has been organised before, but this is the first time we're seeing something like a 'Queen's Night' session. That element is new and is central to our investigation,' said Hussein. The programme was organised by a company known as eHati, which offers corporate motivational and self-development courses. Police clarified that participants are not official members of eHati and that investigations are focusing on both facilitators and participants. Authorities are also working to determine whether the event violated any religious sensitivities or misused religious elements to manipulate attendees. 'Not everyone who attended the programme is Muslim; individuals of other races were present as well,' said Hussein. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari was reported to have asked the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to look into allegations of immoral activities during the organisation of eHati programmes at a convention centre here. JAIS director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 7 of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Selangor) Enactment 1995.

Murdered Cyberjaya student's housemate gave boyfriend keys, access card, says Selangor police chief
KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — One of the suspects detained in the murder of Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara, a 20-year-old physiotherapy student, was her housemate, according to police in Selangor. The housemate is believed to have given her boyfriend — now the main suspect — access to the student hostel unit in Cyberjaya before the killing took place. At a press conference on Tuesday, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that preliminary findings indicated the suspect had stayed at the accommodation before and was allowed to return on the night of the murder while his girlfriend, the housemate, was away in her hometown. 'The main suspect had apparently stayed overnight previously,' he was quoted as saying by The Star. 'On the night of the incident, the suspect was given the access card and keys as he wanted to stay there again, while the girlfriend had gone back to her hometown. 'However, he had ill intentions towards the victim that led him to hit her using an object and eventually murder her.' Hussein said a pathology report showed no evidence of rape, although investigators had not ruled out the possibility of sexual assault. 'We are still investigating further to find any proof of sexual assault,' he said. 'We are also investigating the motive behind the murder.' The suspect allegedly stole several items belonging to the victim after the killing, including her laptop, mobile phone and ATM card. 'We discovered that he had withdrawn RM200 using her ATM card,' Comm Hussein added. Police said four individuals — one man and three women aged 19 and 20 — were arrested within 48 hours of the incident in separate operations in Johor Baru and Gemencheh, Negri Sembilan. The case is expected to be handed over to the deputy public prosecutor soon. Maniishapriet, who was originally from Kuching, Sarawak, was found unconscious with visible injuries at her student hostel unit on the morning of June 24. A friend discovered her body at around 10am and alerted authorities. She had been staying alone in the unit since June 21, as her five housemates had left for the holidays. She was preparing for an upcoming exam, according to police. A post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Selangor police bust syndicate selling meth-laced vape
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the syndicate was busted after raids on a vape retailer in Klang and a factory used to process drug-laced vape liquid in Sungai Buloh. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Selangor police have smashed a syndicate selling drug-laced vape liquid worth more than RM5 million after raids in Klang and Sungai Buloh. Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the raids, during which two Malaysian men and 10 foreigners were arrested, marked the largest bust of drug-laced vape liquid in the state this year, reported Bernama. Hussein said police arrested the first Malaysian at a vape retailer in Klang in a raid on Tuesday, during which 663 cartridges of vape liquid suspected to contain methamphetamine were seized. Police also seized RM1,073 in cash and a car worth RM40,000 The second Malaysian and 10 foreigners were arrested at a factory used to package drug-laced vape liquid in Sungai Buloh during a raid on Wednesday. Police seized 4,600 vape pods and 158 plastic drums containing 865 litres of a liquid suspected to contain amphetamine and 650 litres of a liquid suspected to contain ketamine. 'The total value of the drugs seized in this case amounted to RM4.9 million,' he said. Police also seized RM7,200 in cash, a chain worth RM3,200, three rings worth RM3,500, and a car worth RM45,000. Hussein said the second Malaysian suspect was a business manager who had hired the 10 foreigners to work for him by marketing the vape liquid to vape retailers and transporting it to neighbouring countries by land. The foreigners were found packaging vape liquid at the factory during the raid. He said police were now looking for a foreigner who taught the business manager at the Sungai Buloh factory how to process vape liquid mixed with drugs. The foreigner, who provided the raw materials to produce the vape liquid, is also believed to be the local man's business partner. The suspects are being remanded for five to seven days to assist in the case, which is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking. In April, deputy inspector-general of police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said more state governments should ban the sale of vape as they are increasingly being laced with synthetic drugs. Ayob said students as young as 13 have been caught using vape containing substances mixed with drugs. Fentanyl-laced vape liquids, 100 times stronger and more dangerous than morphine, have also been found, he said.
