Christine McGuinness had a 'brief fling' with soap star after hitting it off instantly
Christine McGuinness is said to have enjoyed a "fun fling" with a soap star after the two reportedly hit it off at an awards ceremony. The reality TV personality and the mystery soap star are believed to have shared instant chemistry and partied together following their meeting.
The 37 year old has been open about her dating experiences since her spilt from husband Paddy McGuinness in 2023. Although the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star was initially lined up to appear on E4's Celebs Go Dating, she later withdrew, saying she wasn't yet comfortable with dating in the public eye.
More recently, she admitted she was feeling uneasy about using dating apps due to the fear of not knowing who would turn up if she agreed to meet someone from an app. However, it appears that she is still open to meeting someone naturally, including the mystery soap star, the Mirror reports.
Sources have claimed that Christine and the TV star shared 'a fling' and had a great time together after meeting. The pair reportedly partied together, but things eventually fizzled out between them.
A source said: "Christine was single at the time and they really enjoyed the evening of the awards bash." They went on to tell The Sun: "There was a strong chemistry between them and they shared some messages, but it never went any further after that."
Christine split from former Top Gear host Paddy in 2023, after 11 years of marriage. However, the pair still live together at their home in Cheshire, for the sake of their children - just at opposite ends of the house.
While discussing dating on the BBC podcast Situationships with Sophie and Christine, she shared her anxiety about the idea of using apps like Tinder or Hinge.
The conversation followed a discussion about "catfishing," with Sophie recounting a date with someone who looked "not at all" how she had expected, like the photos on his profile.
Christine asked: "Do you not think to like FaceTime or check that the person is who they say they are?" Sophie, who is currently in a relationship, responded by saying she would "never do it" and hasn't used dating apps for years.
Christine then shared: "I would be petrified of who could turn up and who am I talking to and yeah ... no, it scares me." Sophie replied: "I think they are gonna go out of fashion. I think everyone's getting fed up."
Sharing her thoughts, Christine added: "I think it should come with like ... almost like a TripAdvisor ... like a review thing. Maybe like reviews from people's exes or something." She later sarcastically stated that all reviews on her, would be five stars.
But Christine later said she has struggled with the idea of dating again, confessing: "It's part of the problem. I mean, for me, it's something I've really struggled with is ... the idea of dating and not going well, then how do you get out of it? Cause I wouldn't want to upset somebody."
Following her split from Paddy, Christine who has fallen into "situationships", with the lines between friendship and a romantic bond blurring. However, she did have one date which she says was her first ever, but it took her months of speaking to the person to make her feel comfortable enough to meet them.

Billie Eilish says ‘I grew up poor with just one pair of shoes and a shirt'
Billie Eilish has revealed that she had an upbringing far from the glamour of showbusiness, with the popstar recalling how she grew up 'poor with one pair of shoes and a shirt'. Over the past seven years, Billie Eilish has emerged as one of the most influential artists of her generation, shaking up pop with her diverse sound and unique style. 'Billie has undeniably altered the course of 21st-century music,' Thomas Smith, editor of Billboard UK tells Mirror of the star, who is currently touring. 'She turned the whole industry on its head, bringing something so fresh and new with her.' As many cultural experts have noted, her music – including three No1 albums to date – defies all classification. 'Billie is not any one genre, but she has this beautiful voice that can sound so current, but also like it's from decades ago, or even the future,' says Nina Nannar, arts editor of ITV News. 'She's not like Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter, or anybody else. She's just distinctly herself, and she just seemed to become one of the biggest artists on the planet effortlessly.' Though still only 23, Billie has made history with a series of record-breaking milestones. For starters, she was the youngest female artist in UK chart history to bag a No1 album with her debut, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? in 2019, when she was just 17. The following year, she became the youngest artist to win all four major Grammy categories in a single night, and then her 2020 song No Time T o Die made her the youngest artist to write and perform a theme for the James Bond franchise. 'It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way,' she said at the time. As if that weren't enough, the song later won her an Oscar, as did What Was I Made For? her track from the 2023 Barbie movie. Addressing topics such as depression, anxiety, body image and climate change, Billie is not afraid to speak out in interviews or in her songs. But, as Nina suggests, 'She doesn't set out to be brutally honest, she just says what's in her head. She arrived at the perfect moment, when a new generation who felt let down by world leaders were looking for alternatives, and truth. And fans were like, 'Oh, she's authentic. We believe her.'' Gennaro Castaldo from the BPI, the UK music organisation that stages the Brits, agrees. 'She knows her own mind and conveys a strong sense of independence, which gives her a bit of an anti-establishment, maverick vibe,' he says. 'She also has a certain vulnerability, and these are qualities that have always resonated with young music fans.' Billie was born in Los Angeles to actor-musician parents, who have always played a big role in her career. But she didn't enjoy the affluent showbiz upbringing many might assume. 'People have a really weird interpretation of how I grew up, and I think it's because I'm a girl, I'm from LA and an artist,' she has said. 'Automatically, people think you're from Beverly Hills or some sh*t. Not at all. I grew up with no money at all, I grew up poor. I had one pair of shoes and a shirt.' She was homeschooled with her older brother Finneas, now 27, and decided she wanted to be a performer after a childhood trip to see Matilda on Broadway. As teenagers, she and Finneas began working on songs together in his small bedroom, where her entire first album was recorded. 'They showed you don't need all the big, glossy production and technical stuff these days,' says Nina. 'But if you do make music in your bedroom, you've got to be damn good – and what Billie and Finneas achieved by themselves is absolutely unbelievable.' Their breakthrough came when Billie's first song Ocean Eyes went viral overnight in 2015, and she and Finneas cemented her position as pop's rising star with follow-up singles including Bury A Friend, You Should See Me I n A Crown and When T he Party's Over, which appeared on her first album. Worlds apart from much of the formulaic music dominating the charts, Billie's unusual vocal approach was obvious from the beginning. 'She can make these super-weird, dark songs, and yet also more commercial Oscar-winning songs,' says Thomas, who has interviewed Billie more times than any other British journalist. 'She just has that huge range.' Her biggest hit to date came with the anthemic Bad Guy, which was the highest-selling single globally in 2019. 'The response to Bad Guy? That changed my life,' she said. During the pandemic, Billie and Finneas made her second album, Happier Than Ever, which was released in July 2021 and hit No1 in 28 countries, with songs including Your Power, My Future and Oxytocin. Hot on its heels, she scored another first in June 2022 as she became the youngest person to headline Glastonbury, wowing 100,000 at the Pyramid Stage. 'Her set was absolutely unbelievable,' recalls Nina. 'She seemed so relaxed, and to be so comfortable headlining the biggest music festival on Earth aged just 20 really does take a special kind of person.' As usual, Billie's outfit for her moment of Glasto glory was a talking point, with her signature oversized streetwear and trainers matching the rebellious mood. But while she has been dubbed a 'misfit' and an 'outsider' in the past, her unconventional aesthetic is all part of her appeal. 'I'm lucky enough to be in a generation that's able to break every rule,' she has said. 'When I think about artists who grew up in a time where you could only have one genre and one look, and couldn't change that ever… That must have been torturous.' Always pushing limits, her third album Hit Me Hard A nd Soft also broke new ground, smashing sales records with the biggest opening week of 2024 in the UK. Its second single Birds Of A Feather was the world's most streamed song on Spotify last year too, even beating Sabrina Carpenter's megahit Espresso. Showing a new maturity, the album offered bold statements about her sexuality, which has always been the subject of speculation. 'She's found the confidence to talk about it, but has also made it clear she won't be pigeonholed,' adds Thomas. 'She just wants to be who she is, and to like whoever she likes – whether that's men, women or both.'

Girls Aloud icon shares huge career move after emotional reunion tour
A Girls Aloud icon revealed her new career plans after going on a reunion tour in memory of the late Sarah Harding Girls Aloud icon Kimberley Walsh shared her desire to create another music competition that would create a "really amazing girl band". The 43-year-old star recently reunited with bandmates Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle for a mammoth tour in honour of the late Sarah Harding, performing across the nation. Kimberley was over the moon with the fans' reaction to the stars reuniting for the tour and admitted she thinks the UK needs another iconic girl group as there is "space for more". The singer said she's had a few chats with a commissioner about a possible competition programme. "There is actually a guy that I knew from years and years ago that worked on our Pop Stars: The Rivals programme and we were saying that maybe it's time to create another show that would create a really amazing girl band," she said. "I feel like the reaction to us coming back was quite something and none of us really expected it to be quite so huge, which clearly shows people still love girl bands and there's a space for more," Kimberley added to The Sun. The star also said she only wants to be a mentor if a programme were to be created. She went on to say that no new groups 'coming out' and claimed they haven't been seen in the mainstream media anymore. Kimberley took to Twitter the night before Girls Aloud's final concert on March 20 last year, to confirm that she was about to perform at their "penultimate show". Throughout the emotional concert, Sarah's memory was kept very much alive, with her iconic "Take a walk on the wild side of life," from Something New being played across the arenas. As the band wrapped up their performance, a huge screen appeared on stage during The Promise, allowing Sarah to shine once again as she belted out: "So here I am, a walking primrose, wondering when I'm gonna see you again," as fans and the band cheered for the late star. Moments before the four girls walked off stage, a photograph of Sarah appeared behind them alongside the text: "In loving memory of Sarah Nicole Harding. 17.11.81 05.09.2021." The late singer tragically died aged 39 – after confirming her initial diagnosis of breast cancer had advanced to various parts of her body. Despite her diagnosis, Sarah continued to put on a fight and updated fans on her condition. Although she was initially responding well to treatment, she sadly died on September 5, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Gregg Wallace response in full as he's sacked by BBC following 'unwanted touching' probe
Gregg Wallace has issued a response after a report was published into claims of "unwanted touching" Gregg Wallace has spoken out following the release of a report investigating misconduct allegations against him. The former MasterChef host, aged 60, had previously stated he would "not go quietly" after being dismissed from the BBC programme by its production company, Banijay. Today, Monday, July 14, Gregg Wallace responded to the findings of the MasterChef review, stating that he "challenged" the upheld groping allegation against him, but was unsuccessful. The presenter maintained that "none of the serious allegations against me were upheld" despite the review finding him guilty of "unwanted touching" and three instances of being in "a state of undress". He also criticised the BBC for not providing sufficient support to help him change his behaviour, warning of further issues in the future. "In the end, the BBC left me exposed to trial by media and the damage it leaves in its wake. To those who've shown kindness, thank you. It mattered." The dismissed television personality described the past eight months as 'brutal' and expressed deep regret for the distress caused. Over 50 individuals came forward with allegations of misconduct against him, reports the Mirror. Breaking his silence on the report's conclusions, Wallace's statement to the PA News Agency read in full: "For eight months, my family and I have lived under a cloud. Trial by media, fuelled by rumour and clickbait. "None of the serious allegations against me were upheld, I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended. "I'm relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018. Some of my humour and language missed the mark. I never set out to harm or humiliate. I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off. "After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I've only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier. "A late autism diagnosis has helped me understand how I communicate and how I'm perceived. I'm still learning." He went on to say: "Banijay have given me great support, and I thank them. But in the end, the BBC left me exposed to trial by media and the damage it leaves in its wake. To those who've shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. "This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. I was the headline this time. But I won't be the last." "There will be more casualties if the BBC continues down this path, where protecting its legacy matters more than protecting people. For my part, with full legal support, I will consider my next move." The investigation by law firm Lewis Silkin categorised the complaints into seven distinct groups. Out of the 45 complaints that were substantiated, 12 involved inappropriate remarks (jokes and innuendo), 16 pertained to sexually explicit comments, three related to states of undress, two concerned sexualised comments directed at or regarding someone, four were about cultural insensitivity or racism, seven were connected to bullying, and one involved unwanted physical contact. On Sunday, the BBC expressed its approval of the findings from Lewis Silkin and made it clear that Gregg had been notified that "we have no plans to work with him in future". The broadcaster released a statement noting: "The investigation details a substantial number of allegations of inappropriate conduct spanning 19 years. This behaviour falls below the values of the BBC and the expectations we have for anyone who works with or for us. "Although the full extent of these issues were not known at the relevant time, opportunities were missed to address this behaviour – both by the production companies running MasterChef and the BBC. We accept more could and should have been done sooner." The BBC also highlighted that two further allegations concerning "other individuals" associated with MasterChef required immediate attention from the production company. "Lewis Silkin's findings include two further allegations which were upheld, relating to other individuals," it went on. "The BBC takes these findings very seriously and we have asked Banijay UK to take action to address these issues, which is underway. This will be completed as a priority."
