Gregg Wallace hits out at 'sensationalised' BBC amid reports he has been fired from MasterChef
It has been reported the presenter has been sacked from MasterChef as 50 more people have come forward to make claims about him, according to BBC News. Wallace denies the claims of misconduct.
There has been a nine-month investigation into his behaviour. MasterChef producers Banijay UK commissioned a report that has been overseen by the law firm Lewis Silkin. The full report will reportedly be out on Thursday.
Wallace, 60, stepped aside from MasterChef after initial complaints to the BBC from 13 people, including Newsnight host Kirsty Wark who accused him of inappropriate sexual comments during filming.
At the time, the former MasterChef judge had sparked furore when he claimed the complaints were made by "a handful of middle-class women of a certain age", a remark he later apologised for.
The TV judge is best known for starring on MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and MasterChef: The Professionals alongside John Torode, where he had been a judge on the cooking series since 2005. Now it's been reported that the former greengrocer will not return to his high-profile job.
"I have taken the decision to speak out ahead of the publication of the Silkins report — a decision I do not take lightly," Wallace wrote on Instagram. "But after 21 years of loyal service to the BBC, I cannot sit in silence while my reputation is further damaged to protect others.
"I have now been cleared by the Silkins report of the most serious and sensational accusations made against me. The most damaging claims (including allegations from public figures which have not been upheld) were found to be baseless after a full and forensic six-month investigation."
He said: "To be clear, the Silkin's Report exonerates me of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year and finds me primarily guilty of inappropriate language between 2005 and 2018. I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks."
After being informed of the decision behind closed doors, Wallace decided to share his feelings publicly.
He added: "I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. I was tried by media and hung out to dry well before the facts were established. The full story of this incredible injustice must be told and it is very much a matter of public interest."
Wallace launched a direct attack on the BBC as he made claims that it was "no longer providing balanced and impartial service journalism". "It is peddling baseless and sensationalised gossip masquerading as properly corroborated stories," he wrote.
The food critic said he was hired to be the "cheeky greengrocer", a "real person, with warmth, character, rough edges and all". Wallace said he has been formally diagnosed with autism. The NHS said people with autism may act in a different way to others and find it "hard to communicate and interact with other people".
A BBC spokesperson told Yahoo UK: "Banijay UK instructed the law firm Lewis Silkin to run an investigation into allegations against Gregg Wallace. We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings are published."
Wallace is not employed by the BBC. He was contracted by production companies that make the shows he stars in and the shows are sold to the BBC.
Banijay UK will publish the report, not the BBC.
Tough food critic Grace Dent was announced as Wallace's replacement while the investigation was ongoing. She has filmed Celebrity MasterChef and she revealed she finds it hard sending stars home.
Only days ago, Wallace had announced he was going to become a personal trainer. He is married to his fourth wife Anna and they share son Sid together. The PT has two older children, Tom and Libby, with his ex-wife Denise.

Christina Aguilera Rewears Vintage Versace Dress 22 Years Later
Christina Aguilera has us seeing double! To celebrate the West End premiere of Burlesque: The Musical at London's Savoy Theatre, the multi-hyphenate, 44, attended a photocall for the show on Monday, July 21, wearing a gothic glam look she had previously worn 22 years ago. The singer dressed for the occasion in a green Versace dress from the Italian fashion house's fall 2003 collection. Aguilera served as the model for the look back then, posing bare-faced for a campaign shot by famed photographer Steven Meisel. In 2003, Donatella Versace, who stepped down as Versace's creative director after nearly 30 years to become its global ambassador in March, opened up about what it meant to have Aguilera be the face of a campaign for the brand. 'I watch the videos of Christina and I always die. She is a great dancer, a great singer, her voice is amazing. I always hoped I could do something with her, but I wanted to be friends first, that is the most important thing for me," Versace said at the time, per Billboard. This time around, Aguilera put a sexy, rocker spin on the famed corset lace number, wearing her long, straight platinum blonde hair gently pushed back as it fell over the dress's sweetheart neckline. Aguilera paired the asymmetrical design with black knee-high boots that matched her dark lipstick and eye makeup. That same year, she also wore Versace to the MTV Europe Awards. The performer's iconic green Versace dress has been a favorite of many, including Beyoncé, who wore it to the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. Rita Ora wore it to a 2020 New Year's party and Iris Law wore it to a London Fashion Week Party in 2022. Bella Hadid also wore it to a 2022 event. It's no surprise that Aguilera was supporting Burlesque: The Musical as she famously starred in the 2010 film version, Burlesque. In it, she plays Ali, an aspiring singer who moves to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams and begins working at a burlesque lounge run by Tess (played by Cher). This time around, Aguilera is executive producing the stage musical, alongside producers Adam Paulden and Jason Haigh-Ellery, Sue Gilad and Larry Rogowsky, Steven Antin and Clint Culpepper. Some of Aguilera's tunes from the movie are also part of the musical. Prince Harry and Prince William's Cousin, 20, Found Dead with Gun Nearby: Report
Rosie Roche was the granddaughter of Princess Diana's uncle Rosie Roche, a cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, has died at 20 years old. Roche, who was the granddaughter of Princess Diana's uncle, died at her family's home in Norton, Wiltshire, on Monday, July 14, with a "firearm nearby," according to a report from The Sun. The outlet reported that her mother and sister found her after she began packing for a vacation with friends, and a firearm was found close by inside the property. A coroner in Wiltshire and Swindon has opened an investigation, which has been adjourned until Oct. 25, according to The Sun. Coroner Grant Davies said that police "have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement," per The Sun. Roche was a student at Durham University, and was working on her degree in English Literature. A spokeswoman told The Sun that the royal family's cousin "will be sorely missed." In an obituary published by the Yorkshire Post on Saturday, July 19, family members remembered her as a "darling" daughter, sister and granddaughter. "Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke. Died on Monday 14th July 2025," the obituary states. "Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, Granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long." "Private family funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date," it added. The news of the 20-year-old's death comes more than one year after Thomas Kingston, a British financier who was the husband of Lady Gabriella and former boyfriend of Pippa Middleton, died at age 45. The Feb. 25, 2024 death of Kingston was described as 'impulsive" and "unexpected' at a pre-inquest review, according to the BBC. Kingston died from a catastrophic head injury, and a gun was found near his body at his parents' home in the Cotswolds, spokesperson for the coroner's office previously told PEOPLE. In December, Lady Gabriella, who is a second cousin to King Charles, broke her silence during an inquest at Gloucestershire Coroner's Court, revealing the circumstances surrounding her husband's death. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more. In her emotional witness statement, Lady Gabriella, 43, expressed her belief that her late husband's "impulsive action" was likely triggered by medication he had been taking in the weeks leading up to his death, according to The Telegraph. Roche's family and a spokesman for Prince William declined to comment to The Sun. PEOPLE has reached out to the coroner for further details.
