Samir Helio Pazzoto-Filho was arrested on Monday evening and has been charged with one count of second-degree assault, one count of unlawful use of a weapon — specifically, a motor vehicle — and one count of failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons.

It's unclear if Brown knew the victims or what the suspect's motives were. Authorities confirmed that Brown lived next door to the bar. The Montana Department of Justice said that more information would be released when it became available.

Two arrests over student's murder in Cambridge
Two men have been arrested in connection with a student's murder. The 20-year-old, who attended the EF International Language Campuses Cambridge, was assaulted and later pronounced dead on Friday evening. Police were called to Mill Park in Cambridge at 11.27pm on Friday as witnesses described hearing 'screaming'. On Saturday, Cambridgeshire Police said a 21-year-old man from Cambridge had been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 50-year-old man, also from the city, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both men remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station. EF International Language Campuses Cambridge said it understood the attack was 'carried out by a member of the public in an isolated incident'. Floral tributes have been left at the scene for the 20-year-old, who is yet to be named, while EF said it was 'deeply saddened by the loss'. EF International Language Campuses Cambridge told The Telegraph: 'We are deeply saddened to confirm that one of our adult students was fatally injured last night in a public space. 'Emergency services responded immediately, but the student tragically passed away. 'We are working closely with the local police, who are investigating the incident and have confirmed they made arrests. 'The safety and wellbeing of our students is our top priority. We are providing support to all students and staff affected by this tragic event and have organised counselling sessions. 'Our thoughts are with the student's loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and we have offered our full support. 'We will not be commenting further while the investigation is ongoing.' Det Insp Dale Mepstead, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: 'The investigation remains ongoing, and we continue to urge anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us.'

Federal agency opens inquiry into ex-special counsel Jack Smith over Trump investigations
The US office of special counsel, an independent federal agency, confirmed to NBC News on Saturday that it is investigating former Department of Justice prosecutor Jack Smith for possible violations of the Hatch Act. Smith led investigations into Donald Trump's part in January 6 US Capitol riot and alleged mishandling of classified documents. The confirmation of an investigation comes after Arkansas senator Tom Cotton, a Republican, requested last week that Smith, 56, be investigated for 'unprecedented interference in the 2024 election'. The Hatch Act, a federal law passed in 1939, limits certain political activities of federal employees. Trump, along with other prominent Republican lawmakers, have argued that Smith's investigations into Trump amounted to illegal political activity. Smith was appointed as special counsel by then attorney general Merrick Garland in 2022 – three days after Trump announced his bid for a second term – to investigate potential interference with the 2020 election and the handling of classified documents. However, the US office of special counsel, the federal agency investigating Smith, is different from the type of justice department-appointed special counsel position that was held by Smith. As an independent federal agency, it lacks the power to bring criminal charges, but can instead seek disciplinary action for a federal government employee or refer its findings to the justice department for investigation. In a series of social media posts on Wednesday, Cotton said that Smith's legal actions 'were nothing more than a tool for the Biden and Harris campaigns. This isn't just unethical, it is very likely illegal campaign activity from a public office.' Cotton said Smith 'pushed for an out-of-the-ordinary, rushed trial for President Trump, with jury selection to begin just two weeks before the Iowa caucuses. No other case of this magnitude and complexity would come to trial this quickly.'
