Provincial police are investigating a two-vehicle crash on Highway 26 near Culham Trail in Springwater Township. Police say two grey pickup trucks crashed at around 3:21 p.m. Tuesday. One stayed, the other truck driver drove away. Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking the public for any dash-cam footage they may have captured the incident, or witnesses who might have observed dangerous driving around the same time. Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people died in a single-car crash on Highway 26 near Seaside on Friday, Oregon State Police announced. Officers responded to the crash just after 4 p.m. Investigators say that 'a white Genesis GV70, operated by Richard Scott McIntosh (74) of Seaside, was traveling westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 8 when it swerved onto the shoulder, traveled up a dirt embankment, and crashed into a tree.' McIntosh was declared dead at the scene. The passenger, Michele Arnold McIntosh, 72, was taken to a local hospital, but later died from her injuries. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Man accused of driving 173 km/h before deadly crash back behind bars

The man accused of dangerous driving causing death in a 2023 Clearview Township crash that killed a woman and her dogs is back behind bars. Dan Richie, 35, is in custody again accused of allegedly breaching his release conditions three months after he was granted bail under house arrest accused of another breach. Richie was scheduled to appear inside a Collingwood, Ont. courtroom Tuesday to confirm his preliminary hearing dates ahead of trial. He was released to a loved one in March with a pledge of $75,000. He is charged with dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm in a crash near Highway 26 on September 23, 2023, according to police. At the time, investigators said Richie was driving 173 kilometres per hour in an 80 kilometre per hour zone during poor weather conditions, before running a stop sign then crashing into another vehicle at 3/4 Sunnidale Sideroad and Concession Road 9. It is believed Richie was driving with five children as passengers. Police alleged Richie may have been trying to flee. The court heard Tuesday Richie is trying to bring on new counsel, defence lawyer Elliott Willschick, a month from the start of his scheduled preliminary hearing in Barrie. While in custody, Richie is due back in Chatham-Kent courtroom on Friday and in Collingwood in early July. The allegations against him have not been tested in court. Head-on crash near Valley Springs leaves 1 dead, 3 hurt

CALAVERAS COUNTY – One person died and three others were left with serious injuries after a head-on crash near Valley Springs on Wednesday afternoon. Calaveras Consolidated Fire says the crash happened on Highway 26 near Farris Drive. Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but at least three vehicles were involved. One of those vehicles ended up crashing off the road, authorities say. No details about the person who died have been released, but first responders say all of the people involved were between the ages of 14 and 20. The three people who suffered serious injuries were transported to the hospital by air and by ambulance. California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Driver arrested over shocking road rage caught on video in Oregon

Police in Oregon have arrested a man suspected of being the driver of an SUV which was caught on camera running a motorcycle off Highway 26. The biker was sent skidding 200 feet after being sideswiped in a road rage confrontation with a Kia Carnival on the morning of Monday, 5 May. Samir Helio Pazzoto-Filho was arrested on Monday evening and has been charged with one count of second-degree assault, one count of unlawful use of a weapon — specifically, a motor vehicle — and one count of failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons.
