His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, mourned the death of Mohammed Ibrahim Obaidullah, a loyal Emirati.
Sheikh Mohammed said via the X platform: 'May Allah have mercy upon Mohammed Ibrahim Obaidullah, a loyal Emirati businessman. He was distinguished from others by his charitable activities, his history in the field of humanitarian work, especially building hospitals, health centers and mosques and his charitable projects inside and outside the country.'
'The body is gone, but his good deeds and great reputation remain as people continue to pray for him. His trade with his Lord and with people was profitable,' he added.
'May Allah have mercy upon him, grant him a place in His spacious gardens and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace, he concluded.'

He highlighted that this interest stems from the directives and continued support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who places great emphasis on Emirati heritage as a fundamental pillar of national identity and a source of inspiration for future generations. Sheikh Hamdan praised the efforts of the Authority and its personnel, commending the initiatives that align with community aspirations and preserve the nation's collective memory. He instructed the expansion of activities and the enhancement of outreach and public communication tools to boost the UAE's cultural presence locally and globally. Liwa Dates Festival He was also briefed on the details of the festival and event plans for the Al Dhafra Region, which annually attract more than 450,000 visitors. Among the key events is the 21st edition of the Liwa Dates Festival, which draws over 116,000 visitors and is supported by a budget exceeding Dhs14 million. The festival supports farmers and productive farms while stimulating economic and tourism activity in the region. It also reinforces the status of the palm tree as a symbol of the UAE's rich heritage. The event features 23 competitions, including contests for dates and summer fruits, among others, with total prize money exceeding DhsD8 million. The festival includes dedicated areas for participating entities, traditional markets, productive families and heritage crafts, thereby enhancing community participation and encouraging future generations to uphold traditional customs and values. Dubai Municipality has launched the latest edition of its summer training initiative, the 'Future Talents' programme, aimed at equipping 200 students with essential skills for the future labour market. The programme targets students from universities, colleges, and high schools (Grades 11 and 12), offering practical training across a variety of administrative, technical, and field disciplines. The initiative reflects Dubai Municipality's commitment to empowering young Emirati talent by providing experiential learning opportunities aligned with the Municipality's areas of specialisation. It also supports the broader objective of preparing a future-ready generation capable of contributing to national development. Abdulla Khalfan, Acting Director of the Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality, said: "Future Talents is one of the key programmes implemented by Dubai Municipality to attract and develop promising national talent. |It enables students to enhance their academic knowledge with practical experience, helping them gain the skills and insights required to navigate the evolving labour market and seize future opportunities.' He added: "The training agenda is designed to mirror students' academic fields, combining theoretical learning with real-world application. This approach provides students with a clearer understanding of their chosen disciplines while offering a first-hand view of institutional operations and professional responsibilities.' The four-week programme runs eight hours per day and places students across various Dubai Municipality departments based on their academic specialisation. The experience is structured to foster a comprehensive understanding of institutional work culture while sharpening core competencies such as communication, teamwork, and punctuality. In addition to building technical knowledge, the programme helps students develop personal and professional networks to support their career progression. Last year, Dubai Municipality trained 60 university and college students across 16 departments through the 'Future Talents' summer programme.
