BMW India has recently confirmed the introduction of its Concept Skytop in Indian markets in limited numbers. BMW posted images of the Concept Skytop after a hiatus of 7 months, showcasing it to the social media audiences. The BMW Skytop was first showcased at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and is a two-seater concept based on the BMW Z8 and BMW 503.
BMW Concept Skytop: Exterior
The Concept Skytop gets a shark-nose front end and thin taillights, which are clearly inspired by the Z8 roadster. The sculpted bonnet design, small headlamps, and the unique flat-decked rear end are reminiscent of the 503 from the 1950s. The rear showcases ultra-slim LED taillights and razor-thin headlamps, described by BMW's design chief Adrian van Hooydonk as the narrowest ever on a BMW production vehicle. However, what the concept majorly embodies is the 8 Series. The stance and proportions are similar to the flagship grand tourer from the Bavarian carmaker.

The cabin of the BMW Concept Skytop is identical to the 8 Series as well, with the dashboard being nearly a direct fit. Familiar elements include the digital instrument console, an infotainment screen, a centre stack and a gear selector. What's different is the addition of the unique roll bar behind the seats and the retractable window. Being a Targa top, the two-piece roof can be manually removed and stowed in the boot of the car. The upholstery is reddish-brown, with a brogue-style leather interior. The handcrafted cockpit is designed by BMW's expert saddlery team in Dingolfing, maintaining a two-seat layout. Crystal accents and premium materials seamlessly integrate the exterior and interior, especially when the roof is retracted.

Under the hood, the Skytop is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 617 horsepower, matching the M8 Competition and just shy of the M5 CS's output. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it rockets from 0 to 100 kmph in just over 3.3 seconds. BMW Concept Skytop: Pricing
Following in the footsteps of the bespoke BMW 3.0 CSL, the Skytop is being handcrafted through a specialised production process, allowing for extensive customisation. The Skytop heralds a price tag of €500,000 (approximately ₹ 4.61 crore) in the international markets, but there isn't any clarity on India pricing yet.

The Indian passenger car industry is expected to witness a string of new car launches in the weeks to come. The new passenger cars will be launched by multiple automakers and in different segments. Check details) MG M9 The most anticipated electric vehicles in India is the MG M9, a luxury MPV with an electric powertrain that was also unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It features a boxy shape, projector LED headlights, eyebrow-like LED DRLs, electric sliding doors, 19-inch alloy wheels, networked LED rear lights, etc. Inside the cabin, it gets double digital displays, a single-sunroof for the front passengers, a panoramic sunroof for the rear passengers, three-zone automatic climate system, 64-colour ambient lighting, and powered and ventilated seats with massage functionality. Additionally, it will also have features like a 360-degree surround view camera, front and rear parking sensors and a Level-2 ADAS suite. Anticipate it to come with a 90 kWh battery pack and a front axle-mounted electric motor. The MPV should provide up to 430 km full-charge range. BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe BMW unveiled the new generation avatar of the 2 Series Gran Coupe worldwide in October 2024. The luxury car is now ready to launch in India in July 2025. VinFast partners with myTVS for pan-India aftersales service ahead of EV launch
Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) major VinFast, which is all set to enter the Indian market, has formed a service collaboration with Chennai-based multi-brand aftermarket chain myTVS, a part of the TVS Mobility group. VinFast aims to establish 120 Extended Service Workshops by partnering with potential service providers to boost its aftersales operations across India. Under this strategic collaboration, myTVS will ensure VinFast Customers receive comprehensive service coverage across India. The association focuses on delivering exceptional service quality through workshops equipped with genuine parts, advanced diagnostic and repair equipment, and highly trained technical personnel. 'This strategic collaboration with myTVS to expand our comprehensive after-sales service network demonstrates our long-term commitment to the Indian market and our dedication to customer satisfaction,' said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO, VinFast Asia. The electric carmaker is likely to enter the Indian market by the end of July 2025. As per report, the launch schedule for VinFast's electric SUVs has been postponed by about one month due to insufficient sales network development. Manufacturing operations at Vinfast's Tamil Nadu facility, initially planned to commence on June 30, have been rescheduled to July 30. Last week, VinFast announced plans to showcase its premium electric SUV models, the VF 7 and VF 6, across 11 states and cities in India. Bihar's Rs 100-Crore Road Has One Flaw. Trees Still Stand In Middle

A Rs 100 crore road-widening project in Bihar's Jehanabad district, about 50 km from Patna, is gaining attention—not for its development work, but because several large trees remain standing right in the middle of the newly expanded road. Built to ease traffic flow, the 7.48-km stretch on the Patna–Gaya main road took an unusual turn as several trees were left standing, now posing safety concerns for the commuters. During the road expansion, the local administration sought approval from the forest department to cut down several trees along the planned route.
