Sindoor Yatra
in the city to salute the
Indian Armed forces
for their successful '
Operation Sindoor
.' Party's women cadres participated in the rally which started from the transport ground in Agrico and culminated near Shahid sthal at police line in Golmuri following a 2-km march.
Amid the blaring of patriotic songs and chanting of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and 'Bharat ki Sena Zindabad,' the women exuberantly walked the route carrying sindoor packets in their hands. The women applied vermilion on each other's forehead, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the soldiers for eliminating the forces which were responsible for the Pahalgam shooting incident.
The crowd carried a kalash (sacred pot) which contained sindoor contributed by the participating women.
On reaching the shahid sthal, the kalash was placed at the platform with reverence.
MLA Purnima Sahu said Sindoor Yatra was taken out to express profound gratitude to the Armed forces for protecting the sindoor of millions of women in the country. She added that the women force of the country is competent to pick up the arms to save the boundaries from the enemies whenever it is required.

Cong demands compensation for farmers affected by heavy rains in Gwalior-chambal
Bhopal: The Congress state unit on Tuesday demanded compensation for farmers who have faced crop damage due to excessive rains. Party media department president Mukesh Nayak expressed deep concern over the heavy devastation caused by continuous and excessive rains in Dabra, Bhind, Shivpuri, Karera, and Datia districts of Gwalior-Chambal division. Nayak said heavy rains have caused extensive damage to crops in more than 200 villages of these five districts including Sevdha, Bhander, and Datia development blocks. Oilseeds and pulses have been destroyed at many places. Due to this, farmers already burdened with debt are in a serious financial crisis, Mukesh Nayak argued. "Additionally, hundreds of houses have collapsed or been damaged in urban and rural areas, but no concrete steps have been taken by the state govt and administration," he alleged. Former minister Mukesh Nayak asked, "When the devastation in the villages is clearly visible, why have the revenue department teams not been sent for survey till now? Why has there been no official damage survey?" "The families whose houses have been destroyed should be provided rehabilitation and relief camp facilities. The affected farmers should be provided loan waiver and assistance for the next crop," Nayak said.

Opposition protests over SIR, disrupts Lok Sabha work
The INDIA bloc floor leaders' meeting on Tuesday decided to broad-base the issues to be taken up in Parliament this week rather than sticking to the demand for an "immediate discussion" on the Pahalgam-Operation Sindoor issues which, they think, the government is disinclined to hold before PM Modi returns from his foreign tours next week. Abrupt exit Jagdeep Dhankhar's abrupt resignation as the Vice-President of India was a bolt from the blue. Though Mr. Dhankhar is said to have cited 'health grounds', the alacrity with which the same was accepted by the President of India as well as the Prime Minister's cryptic post on X wishing him good health, make one one wonder whether the powers that be wanted Mr. Dhankhar out of the way. His relationship with the BJP's top leadership was quite frosty of late. Be that as it may, Mr. Dhankhar was often accused by the Opposition of having a pronounced pro-government stance in the conduct of proceedings in the Rajya Sabha. His tenure was also marked by his being the first Vice-President in history against whom the Opposition had felt constrained to move an impeachment motion. When he was the Governor of West Bengal too, Mr. Dhankhar, sadly on occasions, did transgress the constitutional boundaries set for this high office. His frequent criticism of the Supreme Court's landmark judgment about the concept of ' basic structures' of the Constitution and his assertion about ' the supremacy of Parliament' over the other organs of governance were also becoming confrontational by the day. Though Mr. Dhankhar has cited his health as the reason for his departure, the disconnect between his public appearances and the stated reasons for his resignation has fuelled speculation that there might be other factors at play. As the nation awaits Mr. Dhankhar's successor, the ramifications of his hurried exit will no doubt resonate throughout the halls of power in India for some time to come. R. He might have felt sidelined or constrained and his move could reflect silent protest against the growing friction between the branches of power.
