This film was a blockbuster in 1977, starred Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, earned more than Bahubali 2.., it is.., the leads are...
In the glitzy and glamorous world of cinema, many pictures come, entertain us, and then leave, but every once in a while, there comes a picture that remains etched in our memory for years to come. From their strong scripts to iconic performances, these films become cult classics and are no less than a phenomenon. One such blockbuster film is Amar Akbar Anthony. Redefining Indian cinema, this multi-starrer entertainer was a massive hit both critically and commercially. The success of this film has even surpassed Baahubali 2
Released in the year 1977, this Manmohan Desai's film featured blockbuster stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, and Rishi Kapoor. The supporting cast also featured some strong performers like Parveen Babi, Neetu Singh, Shabana Azmi, Nirupa Roy, Pran, and Jeevan. This film had everything, from action drama to iconic tracks, giving the audience a wholesome package that still resonates with them.
The plot of the film revolved around a man who is going through financial constraints, due to which he abandons his three sons and leaves them in a park to take his own life. Starting with this emotionally intense note, the three brothers get separated in childhood itself and eventually are raised in different religions, Hindu, Muslim, and Christian. As the story unfolds, it becomes even more interesting for the audience.
However, what is even more interesting is that a remarkable, cult classic movie was made on a humble budget of just Rs. 1 crores, and it did exceptionally well commercially by collecting Rs. 7.25 crores domestically, with its global earnings crossing Rs. 15 crores, a huge figure at the time. Comparing it with present-day films, if adjusted for inflation, it has even passed Baahubali 2 at the box office.
Besides its commercial success, the film's still continues to resonate with the audience even today. Its memorable characters, iconic dialogues, and chartbuster songs became part of Indian pop culture. It touched hearts with its emotional storyline and entertained with its comedy and action. IMDb ratings aside, the audience's love was its true metric of success.
In the gleaming journey of Amitabh Bachchan's career, Amar Akbar Anthony became a paramount milestone.

Picture Credit: Instagram Shruti Haasan is one of the top actresses in the film industry, and she is also known for her musical prowess. Throwback to the time when the actress-singer once shared rare pictures from her very first modeling assignment when she was just 17 years old and taking her first steps in front of the camera. Sharing the photos on her Instagram, Shruti captioned the post with wit and honesty: "Mind blown when I found these—my first ever modeling gig at 17! I look a bit shitty and a bit starry, but that's like life, isn't it? I've always loved working and growing, even sideways. #memories #flashback" In the pictures, the young Shruti can be seen dressed in a mix of white, red, and blue outfits. In another light-hearted post from a different time, Shruti uploaded a picture of herself from when she was 21 and wrote, "What was I thinking?!! Found this from when I was 21 and basically thought anything goes—wait, does that mean I still haven't grown up?" Shruti's recent releases have included hits like the Prabhas starrer 'Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire' and 'Waltair Veerayya.' She will soon appear in 'Coolie' alongside superstar Rajinikanth . The movie also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and others. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie is set to release on August 14. In a recent podcast interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Shruti opened up about her experience working with Rajinikanth, describing it as eye-opening and unique. Although she has known Rajinikanth as a legendary figure in Indian cinema and through her father Kamal Haasan 's perspective, filming 'Coolie' gave her a chance to see a different side of the superstar. She called him "shrewd and sharp" yet "warm and very cool to talk to."

This actress gave intimate scenes with Amitabh Bachchan at age of 18, gave 300 crore blockbuster with Aamir Khan, ended her life due to..., she was...
In the glittering world of Bollywood, a young actress made a bold debut at just 18, starring opposite a legendary actor in a film that stirred both acclaim and controversy. Her performance showcased a maturity beyond her years, signaling the arrival of a promising talent. She later featured in a blockbuster alongside a leading superstar, further cementing her place in the industry. However, behind the scenes, she grappled with personal and professional challenges that remained hidden from the public eye. Who Was This Actress? The actress we are talking about is Late Jiah Khan, who born as Nafisa Khan, she gained recognition for her role in Ram Gopal Varma's 2007 film 'Nishabd,' where she portrayed a teenager entangled in a complex relationship with an older man, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Her bold performance drew both praise and criticism. She later appeared in 'Ghajini' (2008) alongside Aamir Khan, a film that became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of its time as it earned Rs 300 crore on the box office. Following a two-year hiatus, she was said to have received acclaim for her comedic performance in the romantic comedy 'Housefull,' which ranked as the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2010. How Was Jiah Khan's Personal Life? Despite her early successes, Jiah's career faced hurdles. She struggled to find substantial roles and reportedly battled feelings of rejection and isolation. Her personal life also faced turmoil; she was in a relationship with actor Sooraj Pancholi, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. Their relationship was reportedly tumultuous, and Jiah's family claimed it contributed to her emotional distress. Why Jiah Khan Committed Suicide? On June 3, 2013, Jiah was found dead in her Mumbai apartment, an apparent suicide. A six-page letter, allegedly written by her, detailed her emotional struggles and troubled relationship. Sooraj Pancholi was arrested and charged with abetment to suicide but was acquitted in 2023 due to lack of evidence. The case highlighted the pressures faced by young actors in the film industry and sparked discussions about mental health and the treatment of women in Bollywood.

Jurassic World Rebirth Box Office: Holds steady on second Friday, Back on track to 100cr
Jurassic World: Rebirth held steady on its second Friday, fending off competition from Superman and a couple of Hindi releases. The film grossed Rs. 3.25 crore approx yesterday, dropping just around 10 per cent from the previous day. With that, its eight-day total stands at Rs. 64.50 crore (USD 7.50 million) approx. The previous two Jurassic films, Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, suffered over 20 per cent drops on their second Fridays when faced with new releases. A similar dip was expected for Rebirth, especially after its weekday declines, which would not have been good. The film avoided that drop and has now set itself up for a good second weekend. Rebirth had a solid first weekend with a healthy trend last week, which gave it a shot at Rs. 100 crore plus final. However, the weekdays saw steeper-than-expected drops, which seemed to put that out of reach. Now, with this hold yesterday, Rs. 100 crore is back on the menu again. Jurassic is one of the most lucrative Hollywood franchises in India. While Rebirth may not match the heights of its predecessors, it is a course correction from the franchise low of Dominion. In most of the countries, Rebirth is going to end below Dominion, but in India, it is now headed to finish over it by a good 20-30 per cent. The box office collections of Jurassic World: Rebirth in India are as follows: NOTE: The above numbers are excluding 3D charges. Including 3D charges, Jurassic World: Rebirth grossed Rs. 3.75 crore on its second Friday and the total gross stands at Rs. 73.25 crore (USD 8.55 million).
