Eurofighter Typhoon Bird Strike: Stunning images capture canopy-shattering impact mid-air, internet's most viral pics inside
are risky for any plane, but they're even more dangerous for fighter jets—especially when they're flying low and making sharp moves near big crowds. Thousands of bird strikes happen to planes every year worldwide, but most aren't caught on camera. However, a Spanish photographer got amazing photos of a Spanish Air Force EF2000 Eurofighter Typhoon hitting a bird during a high-speed air show.
This bird strike happened at the Aire 25 air show in Spain in June 2025. Javier Alonso de Medina Salguero was at the edge of the spotter area, taking photos of the Spanish Eagle Patrol Eurofighter demo team, when he snapped a burst of shots. He only posted the photos recently because he's been busy.

As far as the third shot is concerned, it appears to be a piece of the canopy falling away and a trail of blood, guts and feathers.
The fourth photograph is a close-up of the broken forward canopy glazing.
Though photographing aviation for years, this was the first time Salguero ever saw a plane being struck by a bird.
about the incident and the quality of the images, said Salguero, who was using a Nikon 200mm-500mm lens at the time, said that he was quite surprised about the incident and the quality of shots captured.
'We were watching the exhibition of the Eurofighter when we saw that [it] left without finishing the exhibition. They reported by radio that he had hit a seagull and had broken the dome. Just at that moment I saw the photos I had and I saw the entire sequence,' he said, as quoted by The War Zone.
The Eurofighter was from the 11th Wing at Morón, according to the Spanish news outlet Infodefensa. The event celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Eagle Patrol and was attended by Spain's King Felipe VI. The bird hit the jet while it was doing aerobatic moves.
The Eurofighter left the air show following the collision and headed to the nearby San Javier Air Base. A team of specialists from the Spanish Air Force repair unit headed to the base to assess the damage, the publication noted.
The pilot survived, but crashes caused by bird strikes claimed hundreds of lives, and others have needed rescuing. One of the most well-known cases happened on January 15, 2009, when US Airways Flight 1549 landed safely in the Hudson River after hitting geese.

Assam reports 10 Gangetic dolphin deaths from 2020-25
Guwahati: A total of 10 cases of mortality of Gangetic river dolphins were found across various river systems in Assam between 2020 and 2025 due to various reasons, including accidental killing and internal injury. This was stated by the minister of state in the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, in the Rajya Sabha in a written reply to the questions raised by Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi. The current estimated population of Gangetic river dolphins in the Brahmaputra river basin is 584. The stretch of the Brahmaputra covered is between Sadiya and Hatsingimari. Project Dolphin, the first-ever comprehensive population survey of river dolphins, was conducted in 2021-23 in the entire range of the Ganges river dolphin in the Ganga and Brahmaputra, as well as the Indus River Dolphin in the Beas river systems. The minister added that the survey estimated a population of 6,324 Ganges river dolphins. As per studies conducted on river dolphins, the population of Gangetic river dolphins in the Brahmaputra has been reported as stable, but there are no recent reports of its presence in the Barak river in Assam. The minister further added that the ministry has not undertaken any specific study on the impact of the construction of dams and other infrastructure at locations having more populations of Ganges river dolphins in the northeast region. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo However, the minister said the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006 mandates a comprehensive environmental clearance process, which also includes biodiversity assessments as part of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process for dam construction projects. Further, for projects involving more than 50 hectares and falling within protected areas, a biodiversity impact assessment report is required for consideration of the project by the Standing Committee of the National Board for Wildlife. The enviornment ministry provides financial assistance to state govts and union territories under the centrally sponsored scheme "Development of Wildlife Habitats" for conservation and management of protected areas, conservation of wildlife outside protected areas, and recovery programmes of 22 identified critically endangered species and their habitats as per the Annual Plan of Operations (APO) received from the state govts and union territories and subject to availability of funds. A total of 10 states and Union Territories received funds for the conservation of dolphins under the component of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme 'Development of Wildlife Habitats'. Assam received Rs 24.39 crore in the 2022-23 financial year for the purpose of dolphin conservation.

HC: See if bigger artificial tanks can be created for 8ft PoP idols
Mumbai: Bombay high court on Wednesday asked the state govt and BMC if it is possible to create bigger artificial water tanks for immersion of plaster of paris (PoP) Ganpati idols up to 8ft tall. As of now, artificial tanks can accommodate idols 5ft and under. "See to what extent it is feasible you can increase the height up to, say, 8ft. Because we want the impact to be bare minimal on the environment," said a bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sandeep Marne while directing both to inform it of the decision on Thursday. On a PIL to enforce Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) May 2020 revised guidelines that ban the manufacture and sale of PoP idols, HC had on Jan 30 directed strict adherence to the ban. On May 21, CPCB's committee clarified that the guidelines are "advisory in nature", but added that immersion would not be allowed in natural bodies, such as lakes and seas. Hence on June 9, HC lifted the ban on manufacture of PoP idols and directed the state to take a policy decision on immersion. He said idols for household celebrations or those up to 5ft have to be mandatorily immersed only in artificial tanks. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15 most beautiful women in the world Undo There are nearly 2 lakh such idols. Saraf said idols taller than 5ft can be immersed in natural water bodies, but the local body has to remove all immersed idols and get the seabed cleaned the very next morning. To the judges' query, he said in Mumbai, there are over 7,000 idols taller than 5ft. The judges said 7,000 idols "going into water bodies is an environmental hazard". Saraf said, "These are of Mumbai, and all over [Maharashtra], larger Ganpatis are much fewer." "Still, 7,000 is a huge number," the CJ said. Saraf said there are 3,865 idols 5-10ft tall and 3,998 above 10ft. Asked if idols up to 10ft can be immersed in an artificial tank, he said, "The whole tank will get occupied by that one idol", and PoP idols take a long time to dissolve. The judges asked if it is feasible to make larger tanks so that more idols can be immersed. "Can separate tanks be prepared for sarvajanik mandals above 5ft height?" asked Justice Marne. The judges also asked if the idol's height in an artificial tank can be increased to 8ft. "Is it doable? Come and tell us," the CJ said.

PMC to replace valves, carry out repairs of pipeline supplying water to Chandni Chowk overhead tank
1 2 Pune: Residents of Bavdhan, Pashan, Paud Road and some parts of Kothrud can expect relief from water cuts as the civic administration has taken steps to replace the valves and carry out repairs of the key supply line that brings water from Warje purification unit to Chandni Chowk overhead tank. This supply line developed leakages on two occasions in the last two months, which led to major disruptions in water supply in areas dependent on Chandni Chowk overhead tanks. The new valves are expected to reduce glitches and prevent water disruptions, an official from the water supply department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) said. He said some technical faults had also been found that were hampering the flow of water in the pipeline. "Teams are working on it. The fault will also be rectified," the official said. You Can Also Check: Pune AQI | Weather in Pune | Bank Holidays in Pune | Public Holidays in Pune The administration is planning to spend Rs 16.66 lakh on the valves and other immediate works. More funds would be made available as required, officials said. Residents of the affected areas said that the administration needs to expand the scope of work instead of just replacing the valves and washing the supply line. Ashish Sane, a resident of Pashan, said unequal distribution of water was a major problem. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like When the Camera Clicked at the Worst Possible Time Read More Undo "We want the administration to work on this issue, identify areas where water availability is less, and where the distribution network is weak," he said. Baner resident VS Kher said that some areas receive excess water. "The situation is not the same everywhere, as some pockets do not get adequate supply. There are variations in water pressure as well. All these problems pertain to lapses in the distribution network. It is good that PMC is improving the supply from the main line to overhead tanks, but it should also pay attention to water supply from overhead tanks to the distribution network," Kher said. Officials said that the deputy engineers would visit areas getting low-pressure supply. "We will also see if valve operators are following the water supply schedules," an official said. Supply issues persist: - Unequal distribution of water - Some areas receive water for more hours - Valve operators do not follow supply schedule properly - Low pressure is a common problem in many pockets
