Hey you on the red carpet: What's your favorite car in a movie or television show?

IndyStar posed a single question to several celebrities and athletes who walked the Indy 500 red carpet Sunday: What is your favorite car you've seen in a movie or show?
Here are some of their answers:
Terry Crews (retired NFL player and actor from 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'): Herbie from 'The Love Bug':
'It was cute. It was wonderful. It was for family. It's kind of like me,' Crews said with a laugh.
Kathy Ireland (actress; designer; entrepreneur; and model for Sports Illustrated, Vogue; and Cosmopolitan): the magical flying car from 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.'
DeForest Buckner (Colts defensive tackle): James Bond's Aston Martins.
Kat McNamara (singer and actress known for 'Shadowhunters'): the Mystery Machine from 'Scooby-Doo' and the Millennium Falcon from 'Star Wars.'
'I'm just a big old nerd,' McNamara said. 'Those were the ones that I think were iconic for me growing up as a kid. Full disclosure: When I'm at Comic Con and there's a Mystery Machine or Millennium Falcon, I will go see it and sit in it and hang out.'
(Editor's note: People may disagree as to whether the Falcon is a car, but it's race day and we're having fun, so we're counting it.)
Matt Barr (actor from 'Hatfields & McCoys' 'Blood & Treasure,' and 'Walker'): the Shelby Cobra from 1995's 'Bad Boys.'
'There's something about those kind of classic cars — there's a danger to them, you know … you just drive and the universe decides what happens,' Barr said.
Katie Feeney (social media content creator who has covered major sporting events): the Batmobile.
'I love superheroes, and I love any Marvel … type of movies,' Feeney said.
Natalie Grant (Grammy-nominated vocalist who sang the national anthem at the 2025 Indy 500): Herbie from 'The Love Bug.'
It was 'cute, felt like it was your friend, felt like it loved you. It was just like, how could you not love it?' Grant said.
Ephraim Owens (musician, composer and bandleader from Indianapolis who sang 'America the Beautiful' at the 2025 Indy 500): 'My son would hate me if I didn't say this, but 'Lightning McQueen' wins every time.'
Owens said his son loves that McQueen is 'really, really fast and he's funny. And he loves saying 'Ka chow.''
Michael Evans Behling (actor, known for 'All American' who attended Columbus North High School in Indiana): the Batmobile Tumbler from 'The Dark Knight.'
'I love its versatility and the fact that it can blow things up but also go silent,' Behling said.
Reggie Wayne (former Colts player and now wide receivers coach): 'Eleanor,' the 1967 Ford Mustang from 'Gone in 60 Seconds'.

The new 'Golden Bachelor' Mel Owens says he will 'cut' any woman older than 60

ABC's new "Golden Bachelor" Mel Owens has a cutoff age, revealing that any female contestant age 60 or over would be "cut." "It's blind up until they get out of the limo. But they asked me, 'what's your preferences?' So, I just said 45 to 60, just being honest," Owens, the former NFL veteran-turned-lawyer and father, shared in a June 4 interview with "In The Trenches," a podcast hosted by Jon Jansen for the University of Michigan Athletics. "And then the process went, and I was selected, right? And then we had lunch with the executive producer. I said, 'you know, if they're 60 or over, I'm cutting them,'" the 66-year-old said. "Oh Mel, you can't, you know, this is not the 'Silver Bachelor.' It's the 'Golden Bachelor.' He goes, but they're going to be hot, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it." The age range for the 22 contestants that participated in the inaugural "Golden Bachelor" season was between 60 and 75. The show's lead, Gerry Turner, was 72 at the time and went on to marry Theresa Nist, 70, before the couple split in April 2024. Owens, who was announced as the show's lead in late April, insisted that he knew nothing about the women themselves, other than that they would be "beautiful." "I had no resume, but they asked me, what is my, like, my profile?" Owens said. "Well, they got to be fit because I stay in shape, should work out and stuff. And I told them, you know, try to stay away from the artificial hips and the wigs, you know, that kind of stuff, right." New Golden Bachelor elaborates more on his 'type' "Well, I don't think they're (there are) going to be artificial hips or wigs there, right? Because I know there's amazing women out there," Owens tells Jansen before elaborating more on his type. Other than no artificial hips or wigs, Owens says he's looking for someone "who's a lifetime learner, enjoys to love life and work out and stay fit and eat and have fun and be energetic and life live." Owens, 66, was "born and raised in a close-knit Midwestern family in Detroit," but later moved to Michigan to play college football as his "athleticism shone through from an early age." After graduating from the University of Michigan, he was selected as the ninth overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams and played as their linebacker for nine seasons, from 1981 to 1989. Owens became a lawyer and moved to Orange County, California following his retirement from the NFL. He's currently a partner a local law firm specializing in sports injuries and workers' compensation. "It was during this time that he met his first love, and together they had two sons," ABC's press release says. "While life took an unexpected turn with the passing of his father and the end of his marriage, Owens channeled his energy into being the best father he could be, focusing on raising his sons and coaching their extracurricular sports teams." Owens was previously married for 25 years and said he's found himself missing "companionship." As for the kind of woman he's looking for, Owens said: "Someone that's honest, charming, loving, fit, someone full of life." "After several years as a devoted dad, Owens is ready to rediscover a love rooted in the simple joys of companionship – sharing life's everyday moments, making plans for the future, and growing stronger together as a couple," according to ABC's press release. "As the Golden Bachelor, he's eager to meet someone who shares this vision and finally find that perfect teammate he's been waiting for in his golden years." When will 'Golden Bachelor' Season 2 come out? ABC has kept pretty much all the details about the upcoming season close to the vest, saying in an April 22 news release that a premiere date will be "announced at a later date." Travis Kelce Admits There's 1 Bathroom Downside to Dating Taylor Swift

For over a decade, Travis Kelce has been one of the best players in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs star is a three-time Super Bowl champion and future first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he says all the experience in the world couldn't prepare him for what he's currently facing in his relationship. Kelce is dating one of the few people in the world more famous than him, pop star Taylor Swift. Kelce and Swift have been the NFL's most talked-about power couple for the last two seasons, as Swift has attended each of the last two Super Bowls. Kelce is 1-1 in the big game when Swift makes her way there, and he's discussed how much he appreciates her support. The Chiefs star says that it's been great with Swift, but that there's one interesting element he misses about being single. During an appearance on the "Bussin' With the Boys" podcast, Kelce said that he's had to get used to a greater level of interest in his personal life. "I'm just playing golf and all of a sudden in the trees there's a [expletive] guy with a camera," Kelce said. Like, 'Oh [expletive], I gotta go to the restroom now. I can't just go over here to take a piss.'" Kelce said that he made the decision to take his business inside after the expanded paparazzi presence documenting his every move. Kelce has become one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet since dating Swift, a feat only a few NFL players have accomplished throughout the league's history. The NFL is extremely popular in the United States and Kelce's been popular domestically for several years, but his relationship with Swift has made him a global icon. The star tight end has taken advantage of nearly every opportunity he's been afforded with his newfound fame, appearing in several television shows and commercials. He even has a role in the upcoming "Happy Gilmore 2," a role that could result in more acting jobs down the line. Travis Kelce began his NFL career as a player simply looking to make an impact an help his team. He'll eventually end his career as one of the greatest and most popular players of all time. Travis Kelce Reveals the ‘Craziest Part' of Dating Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce Reveals the 'Craziest Part' of Dating Taylor Swift originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is entering his 13th NFL season and his third since he began dating 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift. He's already totaled 1,004 receptions for 12,151 receiving yards and 77 touchdowns — and he's not done yet. On the personal side, Kelce's life changed significantly in 2023 when he and Swift made things public. While he was already widely recognized as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, his fame skyrocketed to a new level. The three-time Super Bowl champion has been under a microscope in the public eye, much like Swift has been throughout her career. Kelce spoke about that aspect of his relationship on the latest episode of the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, calling it the "craziest part." "Yeah, it's just the being, I don't want to say being, it's just the paparazzi that's probably the only thing I didn't really grasp until you're in it, and that's probably the craziest part though. Like I'm just playing golf and all of a sudden in the trees there's a [expletive] guy with a camera and you're just like 'Oh [expletive], like I got to go to the restroom now I can't just go over here,' You know what I mean? Never been ashamed of slamming beers, just don't want my meat on Page Six." Kelce has a point. He's always been outgoing and open, but now he has to be mindful that anything he says or does can be all over the internet within minutes. With Chiefs training camp starting in three weeks, that only means one thing: the public appearances won't stop and TV broadcasts will soon be back to showing Swift in her suite at Kelce's games, supporting him as he looks to win his fourth Super Bowl.
