Toyota trucks aren't as simple as they once were. Then again, nothing is. Still, it's wild to think that the manufacturer is currently selling pickups with supercar levels of horsepower and torque just two years after ditching drum brakes. It doesn't stop at electrified powertrains, either, as the new Tacoma TRD Pro even has seats with stinkin' air shocks in the back. And now, those IsoDynamic thrones are making their way to the full-size Tundra.
This makes sense, really. In case you've never seen them before, these seats are thick—so thick, in fact, that a human can't sit behind me in the Tacoma whenever I have them adjusted to my driving position. Granted, I'm 6'5″, but everything ought to fit a lot better in the half-ton Tundra.
Here I am, seated behind an average-sized man in the Tacoma TRD Pro. I can only imagine this won't be such a problem in the Tundra. Caleb jacobs
When we asked Sheldon Brown, the Tacoma's chief engineer, to explain these air-over-oil shocks at the truck's launch event, he said:
'We started with some very basic technology, obviously increasing the bolsters both in the seat as well as in the rear seat back. And that obviously helps snuggle up the occupant, makes sure they're nice and tight. In the front, we added a swivel joint.
'In the back is our superstructure. It's a hot-formed steel tube. We basically blow it and quench it so we get the strength out of that. Obviously, that adds a little bit of mass, so behind this, we have gone from a metal back frame and a metal seat pan to a reinforced resin, and that helps us take some of the mass back out of the seat. The way this fundamentally works is we have the swivel joint there in the front, we have a spring-loaded ball joint, and then, of course, we have an articulation structure below.
'What we have here is air-over-oil, and what we can do is with a simple air Schrader valve. You can pull this off with something like a mountain bike-type pump; you can pump that up and we can set it to a specific pressure. We give you recommended pressures based on the occupant's mass, and then from there, you can customize it however you like, and you can change the damping force.'
You don't lose any luxury with these high-performing seats, either, unless you count power recline as a luxury. They're still heated, ventilated, and adjustable up, down, fore, and aft.
Toyota
The difference between the IsoDynamic seats and regular ones is tangible, for sure. You can run 10 or 15 mph faster with the air-suspended seats than you can without them and not lose your dental fillings. And with the extra cab space in the Tundra, I think it'll finally be a net positive as I couldn't fully get behind them in the Tacoma—either literally or figuratively speaking.

Tether Posts $4.9B Profit, Surpasses $127B In U.S. Treasuries In Q2
Tether (CRYPTO: USDT) on Thursday released its Q2 2025 attestation, showing the company added over $13.4 billion in USDT during the quarter. What Happened: With more than $20 billion in net new issuance year-to-date, the total supply of USDT has risen to over $157 billion. The report shows that Tether's total exposure to U.S. Treasuries climbed to $127 billion, including $105.5 billion in direct holdings and $21.3 billion held indirectly, up from roughly $119 billion in Q1. This level of exposure places Tether among the world's largest holders of U.S. sovereign debt, rivaling even institutional investors and central banks. Tether's net profit for the second quarter reached approximately $4.9 billion, with $3.1 billion of that attributed to recurring operational earnings. The remainder, roughly $1.8 billion, came from mark-to-market appreciation in its bitcoin and gold holdings. Combined with Q1 results, total net profit for the first half of 2025 now stands at $5.7 billion. Shareholder capital remained steady at around $5.47 billion, supporting Tether's long-term solvency. The attestation confirmed that Tether's total assets stood at $162.57 billion at the end of June, exceeding its $157.1 billion in liabilities, of which $157.1 billion were related to tokens issued. Tether noted that proprietary investments in emerging sectors such as AI, energy, and communications are not counted as part of its token reserves. However, these ventures, led through Tether Investments and XXI Capital, continue to receive a growing share of Tether's retained earnings. The firm reported that roughly $4 billion has already been deployed into U.S.-based ventures as part of its reinvestment strategy, including projects like Rumble and the Rumble Wallet. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing financial infrastructure, digital rights, and open-source platforms globally. Also Read: What's Next: CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized growing confidence in Tether's model, stating, "Q2 2025 affirms what markets have been telling us all year: trust in Tether is accelerating." "With over $127 billion in U.S. Treasury exposure, robust Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and gold reserves, and over $20 billion in new USDT issued, we're not just keeping pace with global demand, we're shaping it,' he added. Ardoino also noted that Tether represents a "live, proven model" of stablecoin functionality at scale, offering "transparency, resilience, and massive global reach" amid ongoing regulatory developments concerning digital dollars. Ferrari shares slump 12% in biggest drop since 2016 listing
MILAN (Reuters) -Ferrari shares fell more than 12% on Thursday, setting the stock for its biggest one-day drop since its listing nine years ago, even as the luxury sports car maker maintained its guidance, although it said it would cut back prices in the U.S.. Citi analysts said that although Ferrari continued to deliver solid results, the focus had now shifted to whether the Milan- and New York-listed group can sustain its high profitability amid slowing growth in sales volumes and pricing. "The focus now shifts to how far the EBIT margin can go in H2, with shipments and (Average Selling Prices) slowing," wrote Harald Hendrikse at Citi. Ferrari said it will reduce the price compensation it introduced in April on some cars sold in the United States once tariffs on EU-made products effectively move to 15% from 27.5%.
