‘Scrubs' reboot with original stars airing on ABC this year

Yahooa day ago
'Scrubs' will be back in action, as are its three stars, later this year, more than 15 years after the hit medical comedy took its final bow.
A reboot of the NBC-turned-ABC sitcom has gotten a straight-to-series order at the latter, where it will air for the 2025 to 2026 season, Variety reports.
In addition to Zach Braff, whose planned return as J.D. was reported in late May, original stars Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke will also be back. They starred in the original Emmy winner as Turk and Elliot, respectively.
'After years apart, best friends J.D. and Turk reunite at Sacred Heart hospital, where they face modern medical challenges alongside fresh faces while keeping their legendary friendship alive,' reads the logline on the untitled series' IMDb page.
'Scrubs' creator Bill Lawrence also created the reboot, which he will co-executive produce.
''Scrubs' means so very much to me,' Lawrence told Variety. 'So excited for the chance to get the band back together.'
Variety reported in December that the new iteration was in early development at Disney-owned ABC.
'Scrubs' debuted in 2001 on NBC, where it aired for seven seasons before moving to ABC for its final two.

Kid Cudi Explains Why ‘Entergalactic' Never Got a Sequel: ‘I Asked Them Multiple Times'

Kid Cudi is opening up about why his Netflix hit Entergalactic didn't receive a follow-up. In response to a fan on X earlier this week, Cudder said the animated project, which earned critical praise in September 2022 and even won an Emmy, didn't stream the way Netflix expected. Plans of a sequel never came to pass as a result. 'Critically acclaimed, and a Emmy win, and still no interest. Very sad and it breaks my heart. I felt like the audience would've grown and more people woulda caught on, but they weren't into it.' He added that regardless of Netflix's belief, Entergalactic 'changed the game' and made an undeniable 'impact.' Billboard has reached out to Netflix for comment. Cudi's Entergalactic won the 2023 Primetime Emmy for outstanding individual achievement in animation, and was also nominated for outstanding animated program. 'General Hospital' Fan-Favorite Sparks Return Rumors

'General Hospital' Fan-Favorite Sparks Return Rumors originally appeared on Parade. Bryan Craig has fueled rumors that he's returning to General Hospital as Morgan Corinthos. The actor left the ABC soap in 2016 after Morgan was killed by a car bomb meant for Julian (William deVry). Since then, Craig has returned a couple of times as ghost Morgan. In 2018, Morgan returned to haunt Ava (Maura West) in her dreams during surgery. The last time was in 2024 when Morgan saved Sonny (Maurice Benard) from jumping off the hospital the 33-year-old has the rumor mill buzzing he's headed back to Port Charles. Craig shared an Instagram Story with the name 'Morgan Corinthos' and 'IYKYK' written on it. The Stone Cold and Jackel Instagram account, the official account for Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), posted Craig's social media share. 'Is Bryan Craig Hinting At Return To GH 🤔 #GHAlum #BryanCraig #MorganCorinthos #tease #actortease,' read the caption. Boy, did fans have opinions on the hot topic. 'OMG really???' said a fan. Another fan stated, 'OMG! I'd love to see him come back!' 'Honestly…YES PLEASE,' read a comment. A different fan shared, 'I need for this to be true!' One fan expressed, 'I hope so, we need some more good story lines,' while a fan wrote, 'Hopefully. They gave up searching for him in 5 minutes.' Not all fans were jumping on the bring-back-Morgan bandwagon, though. 'That will be dumb,' and 'PLEASE DO NOT BRING BACK MORGAN!' were a couple of those comments. The timing of Craig's tease is very interesting, considering that a couple of months ago, General Hospital ended an episode with a photo of Morgan and Michael (then-Chad Duell). It's been a minute, but we all know that wasn't just for show. Perhaps that was a tease for a Morgan return. Here's hoping Craig isn't messing with fans and that Morgan's not coming back as a ghost again. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Is Ryan Paevey Returning to 'General Hospital'?

Is Ryan Paevey Returning to 'General Hospital'? originally appeared on Parade. General Hospital alum Ryan Paevey has hearts fluttering after a recent social media share. Paevey took a step back from acting in 2024 but is now gearing up for a comeback. The Hallmark hunk took to Instagram the other day to tease that he's getting back into the entertainment business. 'Got some irons in the fire on the big screen and the small screen that I'm hoping will enable me to share more stuff like this with you guys….a lot more. Get busy living right?' he that wasn't enough, the soap star used social media again to keep fans guessing. This time, he shared a headshot with googly-eyed emojis as the caption. In the comments section, Paevey popped up to ask his followers, 'What do you guys think it will be?' The remark had fans sharing their thoughts, and many of them are hoping for a General Hospital return. Paevey played Nathan West on the ABC soap for nearly four years. Even though Nathan was killed off, soap fans know a character can always come back from the dead. 'thinking TV like maaaybe GH 🤷🏻‍♀️,' wrote one fan, while another expressed, 'I'm not sure back to general hospital lol.' Other comments related to the ABC soap included, 'General hospital would be great 😊,' and 'Really hoping it's GH since Britt's on her way back.' The latter refers toKelly Thiebaud returning to the ABC soap in July. If General Hospital can resurrect Britt, the show can certainly find a way to bring back Nathan. However, that doesn't mean Paevey is returning to Port Charles. It's more likely he will be back to filming TV movies for Hallmark or Great American Family. The actor added fuel to that fire with a throwback to a film he did with Jen Lilley on Hallmark. Here's hoping we find out soon what will bring actor Ryan Paevey back to our TV screens. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
