'India offers the energy, scale, and ingenuity that the future demands,' said Paul J. Foster, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of World Technology. 'The WT Summit is a platform for bold ideas, leading voices and new alliances — and we are proud to be together at MIT World Peace University, Pune.'
Developed in collaboration with MIT World Peace University, one of India's leading universities, the WT Summit will convene global experts in science, technology, and public leadership to explore innovation across Data and Life Sciences. Programming will highlight frontier advances in AI, biotechnology, education, and digital infrastructure.

Professor Ganesh Kakandikar, Associate Dean of External Relations, will coordinate between both teams to ensure a successful summit. The summit in India will be a momentous occasion reflecting harmony between the global north and global south at the crossroads of technology.

Never mind what you heard — the BRICS summit failed before it began
The BRICS are falling apart. The promising economic group — originally comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — has increased both its membership and its internal rivalries. And the leaders of Russia and China, the group's two superpowers, are not expected to attend this weekend's Summit in Rio de Janeiro. China's authoritarian government is going through a rough patch, and I'm not talking about the Chinese real estate crisis, its lack of purchasing power, its high youth unemployment, low population growth or the economic slowdown that makes its recent 10 percent annual growth feel like a distant memory. No, the new crisis is linked to a strange earthquake prompted by President Xi Jinping, who often disappears for several weeks at a time and announces the renewal of an anti-corruption fight to purge 'undisciplined' military personnel or eliminate potential political adversaries. Gen. Miao Hua, vice admiral the People's Liberation Army, is one of the latest top officials to be purged by the political and military architecture of the Communist regime. Miao was a senior admiral and the director of the political work department of the Central Military Commission, which helps ensure loyalty within the armed forces. Xi's political maneuvers also affect generals and scientists in missiles, nuclear programs and aerospace. China plays a divisive and discordant role in BRICS. Its ambition for greater power and promotion of its geopolitical strategy against the West has led it to double the number of BRICS members, regardless of factors such as economic strength, political stability or positive contributions to the group. In this pursuit, countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Indonesia, Ethiopia and Iran have joined as new members. China has also weakened BRICS through its rivalry with India. China maintains close political, military and commercial ties with Pakistan, India's main adversary. Added to this, a silent trade war has deepened, in which China hinders India's industry, generating tensions between two countries. The other BRICS members are not exempt from challenges and confrontations. After President Trump's return to the White House, the so-called leadership of the Global South appears divided and defeated. In April, the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Summit failed to pass a joint resolution, unable to reach agreements to promote the integration of Brazil and South Africa as permanent members of the U.N. Security Council. The meeting was a bust. The BRICS conflicts do not end there. Vladimir Putin cannot attend Rio in person because there is an international arrest warrant out for him for war crimes in Ukraine. Iran and Saudi Arabia are not necessarily best friends; Ethiopia and Egypt have a tense relationship over the Nile. And the list goes on. The host country, Brazil, also has its own valley of shadows. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has lost international support due to his radical pro-Iran and pro-Russia stances. Domestically, polls show Lula with only 28 percent approval. The Brazilian economy is a disaster, with high interest rates that make credit more expensive, reduce consumption and slow growth. Brazil seeks to promote the candidacy of a woman for U.N. Secretary General and, at the local level, Lula has expressed potential interest in a fourth presidential term to 'prevent the return of the right.' BRICS has utterly failed to break the hegemony of the dollar, and the New Development Bank is a white elephant that lacks the resources or financial strength of Western, U.S.-backed institutions such as the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund. The BRICS summit has already failed before its launch. Perhaps we can expect some agreements on artificial intelligence, the promotion of renewable energy and a general, watered-down call for dialogue and peace in the Middle East and Ukraine. But there won't be much more than that — it's just another brick in the wall. How to avoid creating 'AI zombies' in your workplace
Zombies have always fascinated me: one favorite is Brad Pitt's World War Z, a fun movie of the genre with its brain-dead bodies wandering aimlessly through the world looking to feed off the living. But recent highly publicized research from MIT has left me wondering whether we are entering the land of the living dead as we head into the AI-powered workplace. The study, carried out by MIT Media Lab, focused on how the use of chatbots impacts our thinking. Using EEG brain scans, researchers found that when people relied on AI to write essays, their brain activity plummeted—with as much as 55% less activity in areas related to memory, creativity, and attention. But that's not all: after pivoting away from the AI, users still underperformed in critical thinking and recall tasks. The research suggests, too, that this underperformance may heighten our risk for clinical depression and anxiety, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia. The costs of AI to our critical thinking The adoption of AI chatbots has been a rapid revolution; ChatGPT, for example, set a record for the fastest-growing user base of any modern consumer application when it reached over 100 million users two months after launching in 2022. Since then, many doomsdayers have been predicting the demise of millions of jobs and the downgrading of humanity to no longer being the smartest in our universe. I believe in humanity's ability to change and adapt—but this research does raise some serious questions about the long-term impact for AI in organizations. Subscribe to the Daily newsletter. In the short term, things may be getting done more efficiently and revenue may be up. But what about the cost to your corporate resilience and problem-solving? The collective cognitive cost is that we risk creating a workforce that appears busy, but is functionally brain-dead, unable to think for themselves, problem-solve, or be creative. In other words? Zombies. But there is still time to push back against the impending threat of corporate zombie-ism. Here are four things you can do to arm yourself against the invasion. Hone a reinvention mindset. Reinvention isn't easy, but it's critical to be able to adapt to a fast-changing environment. This starts by reviewing your strengths and weaknesses. From there, you can make a conscious decision about what will serve you in the new world and what won't. Just like moving houses, you don't want to take all the junk with you. A reinvention mindset sees disruption as an opportunity, failure as a learning curve, and adaptability as a superpower. Empower your team. As AI becomes the new normal, your team will need to evolve their skills to identify and adapt to new opportunities. Training them to be AI-competent, while still encouraging the need for individuality and human-centric creativity and logic, will help maintain a healthy balance. Tough it out. It's through failing, learning, growing, and continuing on that we build deep knowledge, resilience, and pride in our efforts. Create guidelines for your workplace's use of AI, and reinforce that AI is merely a tool, rather than a complete solution. Have fun. During challenging times, increased stress and cortisol often restrict our ability to think logically and strategically. We are in survival mode. One of the best ways to address this is to release the pressure valve by having fun. Encourage the team to laugh, play, enjoy, and live in the moment. A shot of dopamine will reinforce the culture of reinvention that will always win over zombies. If a culture where zombies are accepted creates teams with a high AI-dependency and lowered critical thinking skills, then creating a reinvention mindset is the best path to long-term success. By focusing on our human qualities that make a culture unique and high performing, such as curiosity, resilience, and creative problem-solving, you will build a culture of reinvention that won't just survive in this changing world order—it will lead it.
