Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page added to UFC 319 in Chicago
The lineup for the UFC's return to the "Windy City" continues to build with the addition of a former title challenger to the lineup.
Jared Cannonier (18-8 MMA, 11-8 UFC) is set to take on Michael Page (23-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at UFC 319, which takes place Aug. 16 at United Center in Chicago. UFC officials announced the middleweight booking Friday. Although a card placement wasn't announced, the matchup almost certainly will be part of the pay-per-view main card.
UFC 319 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Dricus Du Plessis and challenger Khamzat Chimaev.
Page had a high-profile UFC debut at UFC 299 15 months ago and outworked Kevin Holland for a unanimous decision at welterweight. He dropped his follow-up to Ian Machado Garry, but in February threw a wrench into the middleweight division with an upset of Shara Magomedov. Now the longtime Bellator standout will look for a second straight at 185 pounds in the UFC.
Cannonier fought for the middleweight title in mid-2022, but dropped a decision to then-champ Israel ADesanya. He had back-to-back wins over former title challengers Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori after that, but fell back in to the pack when he dropped bouts to Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho in 2024.
Earlier this year, though, the "Killa Gorilla" got back on track with a fourth-round knockout of Gregory Rodrigues in a bonus-winning performance in his latest UFC main event. A win over Page would be another high-profile one to add to his resume and keep him in contention at 185.
With the addition, the latest UFC 319 lineup now includes:

UFC on ESPN 71 video: Neil Magny grounds and pounds Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos for TKO
Neil Magny is inevitable. The UFC welterweight fight, wins, decision wins, total fight time, total strikes and significant strikes leader returned to the win column with an impressive stoppage of Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC on ESPN 71. The bout took place at the UFC Apex, and came to an end by TKO at 4:39 of Round 2. Magny (30-13 MMA, 23-12 UFC) fought through a close opening round that two of the official judges scored for dos Santos (25-10-1 MMA, 11-6-1 UFC). In the second round, the fight went to the ground, where Magny worked through a few tough positions from his back. Once he found space to get out, Magny took dos Santos back to the mat, secured back control, and proceeded to rain down heavy ground and pound until referee Mark Smith saw enough. Check out video of the finish below (via X): With the result, Magny snaps a two-fight skid to pick up his 30th career win just a few hours before his birthday. UFC on ESPN 71 video: Andrey Pulyaev folds Nick Klein for first win in promotion
Andrey Pulyaev's first win in the UFC didn't need the judges. Pulyaev (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC), like his opponent and fellow Dana White's Contender Series vet Nick Klein, stumbled in his UFC debut. However, at UFC on ESPN 71, Pulyaev returned to the win column with an impressive TKO stoppage of Klein (6-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) at 1:31 of Round 2 in the middleweight preliminary bout. It wasn't smooth sailing to start for Pulyaev. In fact, Klein won the opening round on all three judges' cards behind an aggressive grappling approach. After the break between rounds, Pulyaev found space to let his strikes fly, and put together a finishing sequence started with a hard kick to the body. Check out video of the finish below (via X): The 27-year-old Pulyaev dropped a unanimous decision against Christian Leroy Duncan in his March debut, which snapped a five-fight winning streak that included his DWCS win over Liam Anderson last August. Highlights! Bashi Injects Life Into Vegas Card With Slick Submission
Promising prospect Austin Bashi delivered a dominant performance earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 2, 2025) at UFC Vegas 108 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping short-notice replacement John Yannis with a first-round submission (rear-naked choke). Bashi, who turns 24 next month, was coming off a lackluster Octagon debut last January when he dropped a decision loss to prospect killer, Christian Rodriguez. This was an important spot for the young featherweight if we wanted to maintain the hype he carried coming over from the Contender Series. Bashi was originally scheduled to face Francis Marshall, but an injury to Marshall allowed Yannis to fill in on a few days notice. Heading into Saturday night, Bashi was a massive betting favorite and it showed right away. The talented prospect wasted no time exploding for a takedown and quickly turned the fight into a grappling match. Yannis was actually able to defend on the mat, but on his way up Bashi sneakily locked up the choke and forced Yannis to tap. It was pretty impressive.
