Airline staff charged for sharing flight schedule
According to The Korea Times, three people were arrested by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's cybercrime unit at the beginning of this year, one of whom was an employee at an airline. Investigation into the matter led the police officials to discover financial records and other incriminating evidence that pointed towards the fact that the three individuals had been selling private information of BTS, as well as other artists, to brokers online.
A statement from the report read that, 'Other HYBE artists, as well as those from different entertainment agencies, were also targeted. For example, a hardcore fan used that information to purchase a seat near an idol group and stalked the members during the flight'.
Fans would then use this private information to access the same flights as their favourite idols.
Company to take strict action
BTS's management agency also issued a statement regarding further actions in the case.
They promised that they would be taking the case seriously and would be proceeding with legal proceedings as required.
Their statement read, 'We will respond firmly and hold those responsible fully accountable, with zero tolerance and without offering any settlements or leniency, for the criminal act of commercialising and trading artists' personal information'.

Two arrested from Karnataka for cyber frauds in Hyderabad; an accused is linked to 11 cases in seven States

The cyber crime wing of the Hyderabad police arrested two men from Karnataka in connection with separate online scams that targeted vulnerable individuals and collectively swindled victims of lakhs of rupees across the States. In the first case, B. Sainath Reddy was arrested in Bengaluru for his role in a fraudulent online investment scheme that duped a 52-year-old woman from Troop Bazaar of ₹3.79 lakh. The victim had fallen prey to a fake trading platform called 'Block Trading' after seeing an advertisement on Facebook. She was directed to a WhatsApp group called K-2 Nuvama Wealth Group, operated by individuals impersonating as financial advisors. Initially, the woman was allowed to withdraw a small profit, which convinced her of the platform's legitimacy. However, as she continued to invest larger sums, she was later told she must pay a 30% 'profit tax' to access her funds. When she refused, the scammers cut off all contact. Investigation revealed that Reddy, an account facilitator, supplied and managed several bank accounts, used to receive funds from victims. He is linked to 11 cases across Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. In a second case, Sourav S, a 26-year-old private employee from Chitradurga, Karnataka, was arrested for his role in a 'digital arrest' scam. The accused and his associates targeted a 76-year-old woman from Secunderabad, falsely claiming that her Aadhaar number was linked to a human trafficking case. Posing as officials from the Bengaluru police and the Central Bureau of Investigation, the scammers used WhatsApp calls and forged documents, including a fake Supreme Court order, to intimidate the victim into transferring ₹40.5 lakh to accounts they controlled. Sourav, who acted both as an account holder and account supplier, is connected to at least seven similar cases across Telangana, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The seizures from both accused include multiple mobile phones, cheque books, debit and credit cards, company stamps, QR code scanners, and documents linked to shell companies. Further investigations are under way.

This Terror Group Is "Most Serious Threat" In South Asia, Has 2,000 Fighters

New Delhi: A recent United Nations report has described the so-called Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISIL-K) as the "most serious threat" in South Asia, both regionally and internationally. According to the report by the UN Security Council's Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team, ISIL-K presently maintains an estimated force of 2,000 fighters, with active recruitment taking place inside Afghanistan as well as across neighbouring Central Asian countries and the Russian North Caucasus. Terrorists from other regional groups are also reported to be joining ISIL-K ranks. Concentration Of Threat The report states that ISIL-K fighters are concentrated in northern and north-eastern Afghanistan, particularly in areas bordering Pakistan. These zones have become critical operating spaces for the group, which uses madrassas not just for religious indoctrination, but also to train minors in suicide tactics. A specific suicide training programme for children, aged approximately 14 years, the report states. The group's strategic objective, the report says, includes launching attacks outside Afghanistan, beginning with Central Asia. There is concern that foreign terrorist fighters, particularly those currently based in Syria, may relocate to Afghanistan to join ISIL-K with the aim of exporting violence beyond Afghan borders. Sanaulla Ghafari The report states that the leadership of ISIL-K remains under the command of Sanaullah Ghafari (also known by his UN designation QDi.431). "ISIL-K continued to prioritise attacks on Shia communities, the de facto authorities and foreigners. Under the leadership of Sanaullah Ghafari (QDi.431), fighters were scattered across the northern and north-eastern provinces of Afghanistan. ISIL-K tried to establish operations in the States neighbouring Afghanistan," the report reads. Other Threat Actors Beyond ISIL-K, the UN report also highlights a range of other terrorist threats across Central and South Asia. Among these is The Resistance Front (TRF), which claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, which left 26 people dead. Some Member States told the UN panel that the attack would not have been possible without operational support from Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT), stating that TRF operates as a front for LeT. The Taliban administration in Kabul, which remains unrecognised internationally, is cited in the report as continuing to provide a permissive environment for several terror groups. These include Al-Qaida and its affiliates, such as Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), Jamaat Ansarullah, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), and the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM), also known as the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP).
