Riyadh Skywalk Breaks Guinness World Record
The network spans 15.46 km, linking 95 buildings through 42 climate-controlled skywalks, allowing year-round pedestrian access.
Elevated above ground and connected to Riyadh's metro, the skywalks help workers, visitors, and residents move easily through the district while avoiding traffic and weather.
Built with 30,000 sq. meters of glass and more than 3,000 tonnes of steel, the project required more than 5 million safe work hours from 1,200 personnel.
The skywalks connect offices, homes, shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, making it easier to walk between work, home, and leisure.
'This recognition by Guinness World Records affirms KAFD as a platform for urban development,' said Faddy AlAql, chief asset delivery officer at KAFD Development and Management Co.
'The skywalk network reflects a mobility strategy that connects assets, enhances walkability, and supports our goal of delivering a smart city experience.'
Mbali Nkosi, official adjudicator for Guinness World Records, said: 'First set in Minneapolis in 2016, this record has now been redefined by KAFD. In an era where sustainability drives innovation, KAFD's skyway network sets a new benchmark for walkable urban design.'
The district hosts more than 90 international and local companies and 19 regional headquarters, including Goldman Sachs, Bain & Company, and PepsiCo.

Saudi Arabia's Lucid Air Sets World Record With 1,205Km Drive On A Single Charge
Saudi Arabia's Lucid Group has set a new world record for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge — covering 1,205km (749 miles) across Europe. The record-breaking drive was completed last weekend by the Lucid Air Grand Touring, travelling from St. Moritz, Switzerland to Munich, Germany, and included alpine roads, highways, and secondary roads. The journey beat the previous world record of 1,045km, set in June 2025, by a margin of 160 kilometres. Eric Bach, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid, said: 'This range record represents a significant milestone – it's yet another clear demonstration of the technological edge that defines Lucid. 'Our Lucid products combine world class vehicle efficiency with the most advanced drive units, ultra-high voltage architecture, and battery management technology available today, which lets a Lucid travel further with less energy than any other vehicles.' At the core of the Lucid Air Grand Touring's success is its ultra-efficient electric powertrain, boasting: WLTP range of 960km Energy efficiency of 13.5 kWh/100km 831 PS and a top speed of 270 kmph Ultra-fast charging: 400km added in just 16 minutes This latest achievement marks the second successful Guinness World Record involving Lucid and Umit Sabanci, a London-based entrepreneur with a passion for EV endurance challenges. In 2024, Sabanci set the record for most countries visited on a single charge — crossing nine nations in a Lucid Air Grand Touring. 'When I completed the nine-country journey in 2024, it was just the beginning,' said Sabanci.'This new achievement proves that electric mobility isn't just the future — it's already redefining what's possible today.'

Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Gets Its Own Monopoly Board
There's a new Monopoly board coming to market – and it's got all the happening places in Riyadh, the Saudi metropolis. The 'Riyadh Monopoly' will be up at stores in September after being announced on June 26 at the King Abdullah Financial District Conference Centre. The board is 'designed to reflect Riyadh's rich culture, notable landmarks and dynamic spirit'. Riyadh is going through a major transformation, including the creation of a swanky Downtown. In late 2019, the Dubai version of the Monopoly board was launched. (Monopoly is owned by the toy company Hasbro.) 'Riyadh Monopoly reflects our goal of making big, strategic projects accessible and engaging to all ages,' Mazroua Al-Mazroua, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer, at King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company. 'As the leading destination for international and local businesses in Saudi Arabia, we are creating new opportunities for the next generation to thrive. 'We want the new generation to recognize the names and places shaping their future. What better way than through play?' Over half of Riyadh's residents are under 20 years. 'Riyadh Monopoly is crafted to unite generations in friendly rivalry, whether strategizing over historic streets or modern skyscrapers,' said a statement. The Monopoly board game has been in existence for 90 years and has sold over 275 million. It has the Guinness World Record as the 'best-selling board game in history'. 'In a celebration of iconic landmarks and modern identity, the Riyadh Monopoly board itself is a cultural artefact,' said Sharif Hamad bin Majed Alowaishiq, Founder & Chairman of Saudi Youth Society. And the new board is about 'mapping the capital's evolution from historic quarters to striking skyscrapers, world-class districts, and new urban infrastructure and facilities'.
