Alison Hammond joins Celebrity Gogglebox with rarely-seen sister

Daily Record04-07-2025
This Morning star Alison Hammond is joining the Celebrity Gogglebox cast, with the TV presenter admitting she is 'so excited' to be appearing on the hit Channel 4 series.
Celebrity Gogglebox is set to welcome a new celebrity on board, with This Morning's Alison Hammond joining the 2025 cast. It marks her debut on the popular Channel 4 show, alongside one rarely-seen family member.
In tonight's episode, Friday July 4, Alison will be accompanied by her sister Saundra and son Aidan. Channel 4 previously confirmed her appearance ahead of tonight's latest instalment.

Sharing her enthusiasm, Alison commented: "I'm so excited to be doing Celebrity Gogglebox with my son Aidan. We've always loved watching telly together, and now we get to do it on the sofa for the nation!".

She further added: "It's a real family affair too, because my fabulous sister Saundra is getting involved as well. Expect laughs, eye-rolls, and lots of commentary, classic Hammond style!".
Excitement among fans for Alison's addition to Celebrity Gogglebox has been building since reports emerged back in May that she was appearing alongside her son, reports the Mirror.
Back in 2020, Alison and her sister Saundra suffered a heartbreaking loss when their mum, Maria, died of cancer. The presenter shared the news that her beloved mum had lost her battle with liver and lung cancer.
Sharing the news on Instagram in February at the time, alongside a series of photos paying tribute. After her mum's private family funeral she told her followers: "Today I dedicate Valentine's Day to my beautiful, wonderful Mother Maria who passed away from liver and lung cancer.
"Yesterday my family and I celebrated her amazing life and laid her to rest in a beautiful ceremony she would have been proud of.

"Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that your ok and with God in Heaven now.
She added: "I will always remember you and try and make you proud. I love you mum."

The current instalment of Celebrity Gogglebox features a star-studded lineup including Paddy McGuinness, Vernon Kay, Clare Balding, Rylan Clark, Nick Grimshaw, all sharing their take on the week's television offerings.
Despite the buzz ahead of its launch last month, some Celebrity Gogglebox viewers were less than thrilled, feeling that the celebrity reactions were somewhat "forced".
"Not the dreaded celebrities again, so many of them are so annoying #Celebritygogglebox," one viewer expressed, while another shared: "Celebrity Gogglebox just isn't funny like the original, it feels forced! #gogglebox #Celebritygogglebox."

Vicky Pattison is part of this year's lineup with her close pal Pete Wicks. The ex-Geordie Shore star discussed the filming experience and the heatwave hurdles on Angela Scanlon's podcast.
Vicky revealed: "We're done. It's in the bag. Last one is this week so make sure you tune in. I can't promise any feminist rants. I was sweating me t**s off."

She added, recounting the sweltering conditions: "It was 40 degrees in my front room trying to do that the other day, and obviously, with the heatwave we've been having this week, it's been f*****g savage. Yeah, literally swamp gusset galore."
This season also welcomed Rag'n'Bone Man to Celebrity Gogglebox, as he made his debut in reality TV.

This 71-year-old is loving anti-ageing treatment that mimics a £221 spa facial

In the realm of anti-ageing treatments, there's a plethora of options and theories, making it challenging to discern what truly delivers results. While lasers are typically associated with hair removal, they can also rejuvenate skin by stimulating central cells, and now, there's an enticing offer on a celebrity-endorsed anti-ageing laser treatment. LYMA, adored by celebrities such as Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Naomie Harris, is currently offering a complimentary LYMA Supplement starter kit worth £199 with the purchase of either the LYMA Laser for £1,999 or LASER Pro for £4,995. This kit combines the brand's two key innovations: laser technology and next-generation supplementation, providing both surface-level skin support and cellular support from within. The LYMA Laser is a cold laser designed to rejuvenate your skin by activating a genetic switch within each cell. According to the brand, this process can improve wrinkles, reverse sagging, and fade pigmentation. With just three minutes of use per day, customers can see results in as little as 30 days - and it's reportedly painless to use, according to the Mirror. The LYMA Laser Pro takes things up a notch, purportedly tripling the power of the standard LYMA Laser with a larger lens and quicker results. It's also painless, portable, and suitable for all skin tones. It can be used over makeup, SPF, and on the go, as both devices are cordless. The complimentary LYMA Supplement gift comprises eleven components, including turmeric extract, prebiotic beta-glucans, plant-based vitamin D, stable vitamin K, ashwagandha extract, and additional ingredients, which are claimed to assist with sleep, stress, and skin concerns. Users need to consume four capsules daily with water. Shoppers can get a free gift when they purchase either the LYMA Laser or LASER Pro Shop the range This exclusive Gift With Purchase is said to bring together the brands two core innovations which are laser technology and next-gen supplementation that offers skin support on the surface and cellular support from within. The offer ends August 15th. Typically retailing at £199, it's currently offered at no cost when purchasing one of the accompanying laser devices. This promotion concludes on 15th August. For those seeking alternatives, additional choices are available, such as the STYLPRO Pure Red LED Light Therapy Facial Device (£99, Argos). This device penetrates deeply into the skin and is reported to encourage smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin. Another alternative is the Sensee Professional LED Light Therapy Face Mask (£139.99, Boots), which helps brighten, tighten, purify, clarify, and naturally reverse signs of ageing. The LYMA range has received favourable reviews on its website, nevertheless. One customer commented: "Expensive but I think it's making a difference and will hopefully cut the cost of going for facials." A separate reviewer noted: "I've been using the laser for - 6 weeks, once a day. While it is a hefty time commitment, I feel like I'm getting a $300 (£221) spa facial every day. It's fairly easy to work into my routine, simple and painless to use, doubles as a fancy gua sha tool and leaves my skin glowing." One satisfied customer shared their experience with a skincare product, noting improvements in their 71-year-old skin: "Though I haven't finished the full three months, I am seeing positive results on my 71-year-old skin: nice how smoother texture, lessening fine lines and maybe some reduction in my deep wrinkles," they said. They also mentioned not using it daily but managing 5-6 times a week, finding the treatment very relaxing and looking forward to upgrading to the Pro version for more consistent use, adding: "Have trouble using it every day, but usually do 5-6 times a week. I must say, I find some treatments very relaxing and something I look forward to doing. "Planning to splurge on the Pro version - cutting the treatment time will help me to be more consistent. Thanks for the great product and very responsive customer service." However, not all feedback was glowing, as one individual encountered an issue with a supplement: "I had only one negative experience, I received a package that had one of the capsules opened, and it stained everywhere it touched and bled through the container that I have from LYMA onto my white marble nightstand." Another person expressed enthusiasm for the product's availability, saying: "Love this so much. Been waiting forever for it to be allowed in the US."

Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd brands wedding guests 'idiots' for one question

Jack P Shepherd, known for his role as David Platt on the long-running ITV soap, recently tied the knot with his partner, Hanni Treweek, but revealed that he had a certain issue prior to the big day Jack P Shepherd has dubbed some of his recent wedding guests "f***ing idiots" for asking a specific question about the proceedings. In a new episode of the On The Sofa podcast with fellow Coronation Street stars Colson Smith and Ben Price (recorded prior to his marriage to Hanni Treweek), the David Platt actor opened up about his wedding preparations. ‌ On Saturday (July 26), the happy couple tied the knot at Manchester Cathedral, surrounded by loved ones. It included his podcast co-hosts, Colson and Ben, who would serve as his groomsmen on the day. ‌ Jack noted at the time of the recording that it was the "kick-b*****k scramble" week before the wedding, a time when they had to address the "nitty gritty bits", prompting Colson to ask if there had been any cancellations. ‌ He said: "I've had a few f***ing idiots saying things like - it's mainly family." Colson interjected, noting that he was, in fact, a "f***ing idiot", to which Jack replied: "Oh, was ya?" ‌ Jack continued: "Saying stuff like, 'Well, where do we get ready, because the wedding's at two, but we can't check in till three?' I said, 'At f***ing home, you idiot. I mean, where do you think you get ready if you can't get ready in the hotel?" Elaborating, he pointed out that people could arrive at the hotel and do what "normal people" do by dropping their bags off. Despite this, it appears that the wedding went off without a hitch. ‌ In what they described as "the wedding of our dreams", Jack arrived in a red Mustang and wore an off-white suit, sunglasses and bow-tie. Meanwhile, Hanni, donning a tiara, reportedly wore a skirt and off-the-shoulder top. Also in attendance were Jack's son, Reuben (whose outfit matched his dad's) and the actor's on-screen mum, Helen Worth, who was accompanied by her husband, Trevor Dawson. As they left the venue, the newlyweds could be seen beaming and exchanging a number of kisses as they headed to the wedding car, as white confetti cascaded over them. ‌ Jack and Hanni first met on the set of Corrie when she was working as a scriptwriter. Fast forward to over a year ago, and Jack popped the question while the couple enjoyed a safari in Tanzania. The soap actor first joined the long-running ITV show in April 2000 and has since become a much-loved fixture of the series. In advance of the big day, Jack took to Instagram to express his thanks to the wedding planners. He wrote: "The A team, @taylorlynncorp me and @hannitreweek are so grateful. everything has come together and it's looking like it's gonna be amazing! "We couldn't have done it without you guys. Best in the biz. Thank you thank you thank you."

Star Wrexham let go who wanted to stay makes statement that Ryan Reynolds will love

Veteran striker Steven Fletcher has praised Wrexham after being released from the club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, calling it his most enjoyable football experience Veteran striker Steven Fletcher was forced to leave Wrexham despite wanting to prolong his career in Wales – but he has still spoken glowingly about his time at the club. The former Premier League goalscorer was let go at the end of last season after playing a key role in two of the Welsh side's three successive promotions. ‌ The 38-year-old scored eight goals in 40 League One appearances last term, many of them from the bench, as the Red Dragons secured automatic promotion. ‌ However, the former Scotland international was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Phil Parkinson as Wrexham began their preparations for life in the Championship. ‌ Fletcher, who played in the Premier League with Burnley, Wolves and Sunderland earlier in his career, said in a post on Instagram in May that he was departing "with a heavy heart" and "not by choice". But despite his disappointment, he has spoken warmly about his two-year spell at Wrexham and the positive environment at the club in words which will be music to the ears of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Speaking on the Golf Life YouTube channel, Fletcher said: "There's something about it, the town, the club, the fans and the staff. There's just a massive togetherness. I've been in football for 20-odd years and it's the most I've enjoyed my football. "I've played in the Premier League, I've played at the highest levels, and no disrespect to the clubs I've been at, but in that moment I really enjoyed my football." Fletcher is now mulling over his next move and admitted he is "95 per cent sure" that his football career is over. He said his plans to retire come despite some of his old teammates encouraging him to keep going. ‌ He added: "I'm 95 per cent sure that I'm done. When you say it out loud, you get a weird feeling. There's a bit inside of me that wants to finish on a high and I don't want to go chasing something that I'm not going to find." Fletcher's efforts for Wrexham were clearly appreciated by the club's owners. Reacting to him being released on social media, Reynolds said he would miss his "leadership and wit". Addressing Fletcher directly, Reynolds said: "Words aren't agile enough to capture what you've brought to Wrexham, the sport, and the lives of myself and this whole town. You aren't a PART of greatness. You ARE greatness. ‌ "I don't really know what a co-chairmen is supposed to do or say in these moments and I don't much care. I'm gonna miss you. I'll miss your your leadership and wit and the way you remind everyone - including me - that this is also FUN. Like the first day we met, I'm here for you any time and any place. Always." McElhenney later opened up about how difficult he found saying goodbye to Fletcher while appearing on the podcast. It came after the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor revealed enjoyed a round with golf with Fletcher in the US shortly before he was released. ‌ "Even just bringing up his [Steven Fletcher's] name is difficult because the brutal reality of football it just reminds me of how quickly you can go from spending all day with him here in Los Angeles promoting the show and playing golf," he said. "[Then] putting him on a plane, sending him home and within 24 hours, Phil released him from the club, and that was difficult."
