Alison Hammond joins Celebrity Gogglebox with rarely-seen sister
Celebrity Gogglebox is set to welcome a new celebrity on board, with This Morning's Alison Hammond joining the 2025 cast. It marks her debut on the popular Channel 4 show, alongside one rarely-seen family member.
In tonight's episode, Friday July 4, Alison will be accompanied by her sister Saundra and son Aidan. Channel 4 previously confirmed her appearance ahead of tonight's latest instalment.
Sharing her enthusiasm, Alison commented: "I'm so excited to be doing Celebrity Gogglebox with my son Aidan. We've always loved watching telly together, and now we get to do it on the sofa for the nation!".
She further added: "It's a real family affair too, because my fabulous sister Saundra is getting involved as well. Expect laughs, eye-rolls, and lots of commentary, classic Hammond style!".
Excitement among fans for Alison's addition to Celebrity Gogglebox has been building since reports emerged back in May that she was appearing alongside her son, reports the Mirror.
Back in 2020, Alison and her sister Saundra suffered a heartbreaking loss when their mum, Maria, died of cancer. The presenter shared the news that her beloved mum had lost her battle with liver and lung cancer.
Sharing the news on Instagram in February at the time, alongside a series of photos paying tribute. After her mum's private family funeral she told her followers: "Today I dedicate Valentine's Day to my beautiful, wonderful Mother Maria who passed away from liver and lung cancer.
"Yesterday my family and I celebrated her amazing life and laid her to rest in a beautiful ceremony she would have been proud of.
"Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that your ok and with God in Heaven now.
She added: "I will always remember you and try and make you proud. I love you mum."
The current instalment of Celebrity Gogglebox features a star-studded lineup including Paddy McGuinness, Vernon Kay, Clare Balding, Rylan Clark, Nick Grimshaw, all sharing their take on the week's television offerings.
Despite the buzz ahead of its launch last month, some Celebrity Gogglebox viewers were less than thrilled, feeling that the celebrity reactions were somewhat "forced".
"Not the dreaded celebrities again, so many of them are so annoying #Celebritygogglebox," one viewer expressed, while another shared: "Celebrity Gogglebox just isn't funny like the original, it feels forced! #gogglebox #Celebritygogglebox."
Vicky Pattison is part of this year's lineup with her close pal Pete Wicks. The ex-Geordie Shore star discussed the filming experience and the heatwave hurdles on Angela Scanlon's podcast.
Vicky revealed: "We're done. It's in the bag. Last one is this week so make sure you tune in. I can't promise any feminist rants. I was sweating me t**s off."
She added, recounting the sweltering conditions: "It was 40 degrees in my front room trying to do that the other day, and obviously, with the heatwave we've been having this week, it's been f*****g savage. Yeah, literally swamp gusset galore."
This season also welcomed Rag'n'Bone Man to Celebrity Gogglebox, as he made his debut in reality TV.

Kelly Osbourne pays tribute to 'best friend' after dad Ozzy's death
Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence two days after the death of her father, Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who died on Tuesday July 22 at the age of 76. Kelly Osbourne has spoken out following the heartrending loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this week. The Black Sabbath icon, affectionately dubbed The Prince of Darkness by legions of fans, had faced health challenges in recent years and performed his last concert mere weeks before his passing. Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday July 22, leaving behind a bereft Sharon who is mourning not just her husband but also her best friend. Ozzy's sisters have expressed their sorrow, remembering him as "loving and funny", reports the Mirror. The Osbourne family released a poignant statement: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." His former bandmates from Black Sabbath have shared touching tributes as well. Two days after the news of Ozzy's death at 76, Kelly posted an excerpt from the Black Sabbath track "Changes" to her Instagram Stories, a moving homage that echoes a cherished memory between father and daughter. "Changes," penned by Ozzy Osbourne and his bandmates, was originally released by Black Sabbath in 1972. In a touching father-daughter collaboration, Ozzy and Kelly re-recorded the song with updated lyrics in 2003, reflecting their relationship. The duet soared to No. 1 in the UK charts, making them only the second father-daughter duo to achieve this feat since Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1967. Kelly recently took to Instagram to express her profound sorrow, posting: "I feel unhappy I am so sad," on Thursday, July 24. "I lost the best friend I ever had." Devastated fans have been paying their respects at his Buckinghamshire residence, leaving flowers and heartfelt notes at the gates. Mourners have also placed half-finished pints and beer bottles by candles on Birmingham's Black Sabbath bridge as a tribute to the rock legend. A confidant disclosed to People magazine details of Ozzy's final days, stating, "Ozzy's final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace." In 2020, Ozzy Osbourne revealed his Parkinson's disease diagnosis and credited his daughter Kelly for her support during his health struggles. Reflecting on the period following his diagnosis, Kelly remarked: "We just kept going everyday and the magic that happens, I think, when you're in pain ..." Ozzy, gesturing towards his youngest daughter, interjected: "She's the one! If it wasn't for her I'd be still lying up on the couch." Kelly remarked: "The only thing I know when it comes to my dad is what can I do to make him smile and I know that going to the studio makes him happy. So I got him up and got him to the studio, and that's all I did. Everything else was him."

I have 5 wives & they compete for my attention – people call us desperate but there's nothing wrong with competition
The wives previously said that polyamory is a great choice for men who are always cheating CROWDED HOUSE I have 5 wives & they compete for my attention – people call us desperate but there's nothing wrong with competition Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MAN with five wives and a whopping 11 kids has revealed that the partners all complete for his attention - which he reckons is ''healthy''. The Barrett family consists of one husband and five wives, who are in a polyamorous relationship. The large family all live together, including their 11 children, who all of the wives raise together. Despite having to share a husband, the Barrett wives do not seem jealous of each other, and often make videos on social media bragging about their unconventional relationship. However, while they not may appear insecure about themselves, the wives allegedly compete for the hubby's attention, a recent clip on their Instagram page showed. read more on relationships MR TINDER MEETS 'THE ONE' Tinder's most right swiped man FINALLY finds love after 9 years The video, which has been viewed more than a whopping 27million times, sees the wives - Jess, Gabby, Diana, Cam and Starr - doing their own thing, as the hubby arrives home. Hearing the door open, the ''sister wives'' get excited - and rush to be the first one to give him a kiss. One of them, for instance, quits cleaning the floor - whilst another immediately stops doing the dishes. The third wife proceeds to stop sprucing up the couch, as the fourth ditches cleaning up the mess after a baby and another immediately looks in the direction of the hubby. One by one, they all start getting ready for the race - whether that means getting their trainers in sports mode or fixing their hair. ''When hubby gets home and we all are trying to be the first to kiss him,'' read the text on the footage. I'm raising my child with 5 parents & none are the biological father - yes it's unconventional but full of love ''Nothing wrong with a little healthy competition,'' the husband chuckled in the caption. But while this arrangement might work for the mega family, social media users were not so sure, as thousands flooded to comments to share their thoughts. One person prayed: ''May this type of relationship never find me.'' What is polyamory? Polyamory is the practice of having romantic relationships with more than one person at the same time, with the knowledge and consent of all parties. It can refer to relationships where one person has multiple partners or spouses, or where all parties are in a relationship with each other, for example in a throuple. According to You Gov, 6.8% of people in the UK have been in a polyamorous relationship. ''I'd rather scoop my eyes out with a hot spoon,'' another declared. ''This is actually really depressing,'' is how someone else felt about the relationship. ''Being poly is one thing, but being the only man in a 5 woman relationship is definitely fishy,'' a fourth thought. The wives previously said that polyamory is a great choice for men who are always cheating, or who jump from relationship to relationship. They added that they don't want another man in their lives, and are happy sharing just one.
