Andhra Min Lokesh takes part in Good Governance program
Lokesh went door-to-door, distributing pamphlets and explaining key welfare and development initiatives implemented by the TDP-led government. Residents welcomed him warmly and raised local concerns, for which the Minister assured swift redressal.
During the visit, Lokesh inspected a site earmarked for a retaining wall to prevent flooding. He directed officials to expedite construction, stressing the need for preventive infrastructure in vulnerable low-lying areas.
He also visited the home of Vedulla Madhubabu from the BC community. The family expressed appreciation for receiving a house site patta and registration at no cost, as well as benefits like pensions, subsidized LPG under Deepam, and education aid under 'Talli Ki Vandanam.'
Locals including Yapati Lakshmi, Shaik Mehbooba, and Bondili Bhagyalakshmi Bai shared their positive experiences with the new administration. They cited improvements such as doorstep ration delivery, timely pensions, curbed ganja usage, and long-pending land title distributions.
Lokesh reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening welfare delivery and empowering families at the grassroots level. Residents expressed strong support and urged Lokesh to continue his developmental initiatives.

Vizianagaram: YSRCP Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana has criticised TDP and Jana Sena leaders for their threatening responses when questioned about unfulfilled election promises. At YSRCP district meeting led by ZP Chairman Majji Srinivasa Rao, he stated, 'Questioning a promise isn't a crime in a democracy.' Botsa emphasized, 'We won't be intimidated. Slap in Mumbai's face
The assault oN a sweetshop owner in Mumbai's Mira Road, allegedly by hooligans affiliated with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), for not speaking in Marathi, is not an isolated incident. It is a deeply troubling brand of politics rearing its head again. Coming in the wake of an agitation against the state government's ill-conceived resolutions on the three-language policy — first making Hindi mandatory at the primary school level, then making it optional — it is a warning that must be heeded. Both Raj Thackeray's MNS and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) accused the BJP-led Mahayuti government of seeking to impose Hindi on the state, the estranged Thackeray cousins coming together after two decades on the plank of 'Marathi pride'. Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis government did well to withdraw its Hindi language mandate to schools. But that the incident of assault in Mumbai came as MNS workers celebrated the revocation and days before the protest-turned-victory rally called by the Thackerays on July 5, should ring alarm bells — a parochial politics cannot be allowed to change the subject and tip over into violence in India's most industrialised state. Ever since it was founded in 2006, the MNS has periodically stoked the 'Marathi pride' issue, employing divisive, even violent, tactics. At a Gudi Padwa rally earlier this year, Raj Thackeray said that his party would not hesitate to slap residents in the state should they refuse to speak Marathi — following this, MNS workers attacked officials at banks for not offering services in the language. However, it is also apparent that such belligerence resonates less and less among the people in a state where non-Marathi speakers make up a significant chunk of the population, and whose capital, Mumbai, attracts workers from across the country. The MNS's stark and growing disconnect from the ground is evident in its electoral record: From 13 seats in the 2009 Assembly elections to one each in 2014 and 2019 to none at all in 2024. The Shiv Sena (UBT) is also currently engaged in a fight for relevance following the drubbing of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in the 2024 Assembly election — that may explain its regression to the lumpenism that long characterised the undivided Shiv Sena. In doing so, however, it risks stripping away the sheen that Uddhav Thackeray's chief ministership, seen to be steadying and sober during the pandemic, had earned for the party. The hooliganism in Mira Road must be condemned and the perpetrators must face the consequences of taking the law into their own hands. The Mahayuti government, which came to power with a sweeping mandate, needs to deliver on promises of enhancing economic opportunity, ease of doing business and carving out wider avenues of development for Maharashtra's youth. This cannot happen if a narrowing political project is allowed to cock a snook at the rule of law.

Will make TG global mfg hub, says Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday said that the state government put plans in place to promote Hyderabad as a destination for global investments and make Telangana a hub of the manufacturing sector in the world. Speaking at the inauguration of Malabar Gems and Jewellery's manufacturing unit at IP General Park in Maheshwaram on Thursday, the Chief Minister said his government's main objective was not only attracting investments but also helping investors earn profits. Assuring policy stability, Revanth Reddy said the state government was continuing the industrial policies introduced by the previous governments. He pointed out that the TDP and Congress each held power for 10 years in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, followed by the BRS, which governed Telangana from 2014 to December 2023. 'Now, our government has been in office since December 2023. But our policies on investments, and industrial growth have not changed. Governments come and go, but our policies and incentives remain consistent. I want to assure every investor - we are here to support you," he said. 'We offer incentives. Come, invest, and do business. Telangana means profit - come and invest in Telangana,' he said. Further, the Chief Minister said that the proactive measures taken by his government to attract global investments were giving positive dividends. The state signed agreements with global companies for total investments worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore during his official tours to the US, Singapore and Davos. The state will attract more investors from many parts of the world in the future, he said. Revanth Reddy said that plans had already been formulated to build 30,000-acre Bharat Future City near the industrially- developed Maheshwaram. Stating that the government will release the 'TelanganaRising 2047' vision document on December 9, the Chief Minister said that the vision document would focus on developing the youngest state of Telangana for the next 100 years at a faster pace. Meanwhile, Malabar Gold & Diamonds commenced operations at its new jewellery manufacturing facility which is spread over 3.45 lakh sq ft area. It is the group's largest unit among its 14 manufacturing facilities across India and the GCC countries. The unit has an annual production capacity of over 4.7 tonnes of gold jewellery and 1.8 lakh carats of diamond jewellery, along with an annual gold refining capacity of 78 tonnes.
