HERB (12) is a grandson of Snitzel with broodmare sires like Courtza's son O'Reilly, Noble Bijou, Mellay, etc, which probably accounts for his superb and very compelling numbers on Heavy tracks. Rest assured Jason Collett will get the timing just right on this backmarker so long as the track is fair. MISS HADES (5) was a real eye-catcher first-up in the Candlewick midweeker. Has Midway form, likes the trip, and goes well second-up. PIRAEUS (8) is costly but always a chance in these Midways.
Bet: HERB to win
â– â– â– â– â–
FEIMAZUO (9) has raced 13 times for two wins, five seconds and two thirds. Some of those placings were by narrow margins and more than some were the result of bad luck. Here is the most crucial bit; Clayton Gallagher has ridden her twice and won both times. STRAIGHT FIRE (8) is by Vancouver out of a More Than Ready mare out of a Zabeel mare. No wonder she is one for one on Heavy. Matthew Dunn is one or two off winning his 40th Highway. MOSCOW CIRCUS (3) profiles a fair bit like a fair few of his previous winners.
â– â– â– â– â–
DAMIEN (2) was $2.15 into $1.55 first-up at Newcastle and won accordingly. To win like that must have done his confidence and racecraft the world of good. This is much harder but he is a well-bred colt with plenty of upside (and a pedigree made to swim). AERODROME (1) was a narrow winner on debut but just so impressive. P.S. How good is Ole Kirk going? HEREWARD (4) is one those typical David Payne '3YO prospects' for next season but was forward enough to win a trial at Rosehill.
Bet: DAMIEN to win
â– â– â– â– â–
IRON MAN (3) has finished on the podium 13 times in 19 starts; granted only three are wins but all of them were on rain affected tracks. One of them was on Heavy 8 at Kembla the day he won by three lengths. When it is all said and done, one word comes to mind and that is 'reliable'. Warwick Farm resident WORLD ALLIANCE (4) was bred nearby at Hobartville Stud, he's got a good 'local's' record at the track and has won on Heavy. Loved the EPIC PROPORTIONS (8) trials.
Bet: IRON MAN to win, quinella 3, 4
â– â– â– â– â–
QUANTUM CAT (4) won three times in England (from her first and only five starts there) and has never seen a Heavy track before Saturday. That's a bit of a worry but she is a Sadler's Well's descendant and has placed three times in five runs on Soft so gets a very cautious tick. Good news is that she has won second-up and was more than passable first-up. PHILLIPSBURG (3) is on a hat-trick here. Tough and genuine, he has a lot of weight this time but he's going so well, in fact, too well to overlook.
Bet: QUANTUM CAT each-way
â– â– â– â– â–
There might not be a horse better bred for Heavy tracks racing on the weekend than SNITZANOVA (2) who is by Snitzel out of a Galileo mare. That means she is bred on a 3x3 cross of Snippets and Sadler's Wells. It stands to reason then why she won her only Heavy track run and that was the Sandown Guineas straight after the Spring Stakes win. MODELLA (14) is going to fly at them late here. I just hope the track plays fair. CANDLEWICK (13) is a quality filly. Is barrier 3 good or bad on the day?
Bet: SNITZANOVA to win
â– â– â– â– â–
CITY OF LIGHTS (12) is a half-sister to Winx who you may recall was four from four on Heavy tracks for two reasons: One, she was a Champion and two, was the presence of Al Akbar (by Success Express) as the sire of her dam, Vegas Showgirl. That's a good omen for City Of Lights on a Heavy track here. Heavy 10 Golden Slipper winner Sebring is represented by TASHI (10) here. She's a spirited little mare who runs the same honest race no matter the venue or the level of competition.
Bet: CITY OF LIGHTS each-way, box trifecta 2, 6, 10, 12
â– â– â– â– â–
Provided the track is fair, the rain has come at the perfect time for FLOATING (11), a true example of the 'greys in the wet' theory. He's won seven races from 33 starts, three from 10 at this trip, four from 11 on Soft while his record on Heavy is one win, two seconds and one third from five goes. He ran a lot better than a 10th of 14 reads first-up. PUNCH LANE (5) is backing up for the third Saturday in-a-row but why not, the way he won last week and the fact he is a big time muddie.
Bet: FLOATING each-way, Daily Double 1st Leg 11, 2nd Leg 2
â– â– â– â– â–
ASTERO (7) has won eight races which is no small feat in the Benchmark era. The Matthew Smith-trained son of Zoustar has raced here twice for a win and second The win was on a Heavy 8; the second was on a Heavy 9 behind Norwegian Bliss. His old form includes a second to Big Dance winner Rustic Steel in the Newcastle Provincial Championships Heat. Goes well fresh, trials are very good and Jason Collett is the perfect fit for him. Stacks of other chances; IN FLIGHT (12) for one.
â– â– â– â– â–
I may be certifiably insane to tip ROSE BLOOM (2) again. Personally, I prefer 'loyal' myself but for those of us who went down with the ship last start, I can see why you'd be giving her a wide berth. I just see the gear changes as a potential plus and more to the point, she likes it soft underfoot which is a guarantee here. I'm sticking and so is Tyler Schiller. She is $81/$20 so worth a flutter.

Mitch Cohen, Shayne O'Cass tips and analysis for Royal Randwick on Saturday

Racing writers Mitch Cohen and Shayne O'Cass present their race-by-race tips and analysis for the 10-race meeting at Royal Randwick on Saturday. MITCH'S BEST BET Race 10 No.6 PUNTIN MITCH'S BEST VALUE Race 8 No.7 THE BLACK CLOUD SHAYNO'S BEST BET Race 8 No.4 CIGAR FLICK SHAYNO'S BEST VALUE Race 9 No.10 RANTAN â– â– â– â– â– Shayne O'Cass: We should start by pointing out the rail placement for the day; 11m out from the 1000m to the winning post; 8m the remainder. What effect that has, if any at all, will become evident pretty early on. For the record in the first I am eager to see how NAZWAH (7) makes the transition from Gosford to Randwick. Nazwah is out of a very good filly who has turned into a very good broodmare namely Najoom who has already thrown stakes-winners Charm Stone and Najmaty and the way this filly might get to black-type herself. Mitch Cohen: On speed could be the place to be with the rail where it is but we will wait a couple of races to see how it plays out. I am with NAZWAH (7) too. Interesting to hear Peter Snowden say her debut win took him a bit by surprise. It was a very impressive performance and I doubt she will be getting under anyone's guard on the weekend. SHAGGY (1) has to be a chance if he can replicate his early two-year-old form. It wasn't so long ago that he was a hot favourite in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes and a genuine Golden Slipper prospect. Wow, look at Nazwah go! 😮 An impressive win to the @SnowdenRacing1 - trained filly at @gosford_races with @tomo_sherry in the saddle! ðŸ'¨ @EmiratesPark — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) July 10, 2025 â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: KINGSTON CHARM (2) is indeed a member of David Hains' epic family that delivered the fastest Melbourne Cup winner ever, Kingston Rule. As for Kingston Charm, she is much more a miler than a two-miler; and make that a 'Randwick Miler' Nosey Parker is known for getting back and charging late mostly in 1200m races but he actually ran a pretty respectable race at Wyong at his only 1600m run when Willie Pike rode him. CALLISTEMON (9) is the obvious, SUNSOURCE (8) might be the value at $7 the place. Mitch: We are in agreement again. I thought KINGSTON CHARM (2) was desperately unlucky not to win the other day and she finds herself in a very similar race here. She's ready for a peak performance third-up. CALLISTEMON (9) is another one that didn't have a lot go her way the other day. She's a chance but the outside draw could make things ugly. FORECASTER (3) is drawn to get every possible on speed. Charmed! Kingston Charm takes out the opener at Randwick today! @aus_turf_club — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) March 9, 2024 • â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: Typhoon Tracy relation IN SUMMER (6) has three wins, three seconds and a third from eight starts. She was third last start in a Highway here but was, IMHO, the moral victor. The two that beat her had all the favours whereas he had none. A lot of that goes for RED RAGS TO BULLS (7) too who was fifth in that on-pace Highway. How could those two NOT run 1800m? OFF THE SCALE (8) has already won over 'the Tchaikovsky distance' (1812m) by four then won at Scone by three over 1700m. Mitch: IN SUMMER (6) went straight in the blackbook following her strong third in a Highway race at a mile last time. She has never been tried at the 1800m but off that last run you'd expect her to lap it up. RED RAGS TO BULLS (7) is a descendant of an SA Oaks runner-up so the 1800m could prove right up her alley too. Matt Dunn can never be discounted in a Highway either so FULL OF SINCERITY (2) deserves respect. He's dropping back 430m in trip but this is significantly easier than a Grafton Cup. • Big Dance lure not enough to sway Pfieffer â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: CODETTA (1) has been most unlucky this preparation Mitchy, You could make a sane case to argue that this half-sister to Riff Rocket could have won any or all of her three starts this time in but for wide barriers and track bias and so on. Barrier 4 this time, 2kgs off, even luck she wins IMHO. Could it be the same trifecta as the July 5 race here with GOLDEN STRAAND (8) (runner-up that day) and DIDDLE DUMPLING (2) (who won) both fronting up again? Sure can. Outside of those, one has to acknowledge that SIGNOR TORTONI (3) is on a hat-trick. Mitch: GLORIOUS MOMENTS (6) has been given a month to get over his excellent first-up success at Canterbury. The smart son of Brutal hadn't raced for 59 weeks heading into that and should be advantaged by the added break between runs. He's untapped. STARDEEL (4) deserves consideration on the strength of his consistent preparation. The 1300m looks ideal for him now. SIGNOR TORTONI (3) is going through his grades nicely and should be competitive again. “I think he is the best horse we've had for a long while.â€ Co-trainer Greg Lee believes Glorious Moments can deliver on that high opinion when he turns out on home turf at Royal Randwick on Saturday. Story: @MitchRWCohen ðŸ'‡ — Racenet (@RacenetTweets) July 24, 2025 â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: In case you forgot Mitchy, I was declaring RUBY FLYER (1) first-up in the Winter Stakes but the fact that he was $41 to $51 suggested that she would need the run. The long and short of it was that he was 11th of 13 but only beaten six-lengths and I thought he ran through the line with purpose. Loves the 1600m and loves Randwick. One has to be (totally) forgiving of Big Dance placegetter SUPER HELPFUL (2) first-up given he bombed the start. OH DIAMOND LIL (4) is bombproof. Mitch: No one could doubt your loyalty Shayno! I found it impossible to go around OH DIAMOND LIL (4). I know David Pfieffer was considering the Coffs Harbour Cup but with the rail out, this looks like an ideal race for her. She will settle close to the speed and I am tipping she will be too hard to run down. ABERLOUR (9) is another one that will find herself on speed and was good doing it from out in front over 1800m last time. RUBY FLYER (1) is best of the rest. She's back on the winners list! ðŸ' Jason Collett lifts Oh Diamond Lil over the line to take out race 8 at Randwick! @DavidPfieffer — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) July 12, 2025 • Thompson has strong hand to cap off outstanding season â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: Tasmanian Oaks runner-up VERY SEWREEL (9) was my Black Booker from the July 12 meeting here even though she ran ninth of 13. That was her first run for Bjorn Baker but she is familiar with HQ given she came from Waterhouse/Bott. Terrible bias on the day, she has to be marked 'up' for what was an already honourable return over 1400m; 1800m this time. Boom. SHE'S UNUSUAL (5) is a last start track/distance winner. Nettoyer's little (half) sister CHANGING COLOURS (7) had no chance with the bias here two weeks back. Mitch: SHE'S UNUSUAL (5) won't get the same luxury out in front that she was afforded last start but she can win again. She gets a great draw to settle close to the speed and only has to carry a kilo more after Ben Osmond's 2kg claim. PIGGYBACK (8) has been a tad frustrating in recent starts but hasn't had a lot of luck either. She is at peak fitness and will be in the mix again. BRIGHT RED (10) is a consistent mare but doesn't win all the often. She's nice... unusual! She's Unusual wins in style for @JohnOSheaRacing with @TommyBerry21 in the saddle! 🤩 @aus_turf_club @OTIRacing — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) June 21, 2025 â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: Not sure if GENTLY ROLLED (7) turns up on Saturday or is saved for another day given the wide draw and the rail placement. The brief version from last start is 'beaten by the bias'. UNSTOPABULL (6) 's trainer Chris Waller mastered the art of the back-up a long time ago Mitchy. The stats say he has an 18.2 per cent winning strike-rate with horses backing up within 7 days and that increases to 46.6 per cent when placings are added. One more thing, Unstopabull had no luck last weekend. Mitch: SACRED ROCKS (4) would be odds on if she drew a gate. She's the clear class runner and only needs to overcome another wide draw here. I am convinced she is a stakes quality mare and she's unlucky not to be three from three this preparation. DRIFT NET (9) is drawn to get on speed favours from barrier one. She is going to be the one the favourite needs to catch. UNSTOPABULL (6) will run his typical race and be the best of the closers. Sacred Rocks storms home on the outside to win the last at Rosehill! 🚀 @CMaherRacing @djgibbons22 — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) June 14, 2025 â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: We all use the term 'unlucky' a lot, sometimes too much Mitchy but seriously, how unlucky was CIGAR FLICK (4) the other day! I know she is not everyone's cup of tea, for some she is poison, but honestly and truly, if the best Cigar Flick shows up, she has to be in the finish. STORM THE RAMPARTS (1) is '211212' this preparation, and I'm tipping Cigar Flick! The world's gone mad! But one last time and if she gets rolled this time with no good reason, it's goodbye. Mitch: I think THE BLACK CLOUD (7), albeit it not a huge price, still present some nice value around the $6 quote. She is a model of consistency with two close seconds already to her name this prep. If the rain hits Sydney, that's only going to help her cause. BUNDEENA (11) looked the winner a long way out first-up. He will be poised pounce from a good draw. STORM THE RAMPARTS (1) has to go in the quaddie. He's flying and has shown big weights are no concern. The Black Cloud wins and wins well for punters in the last! @ProvenTbreds @PrideRacing — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) January 17, 2024 â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: RANTAN (10) has been incredibly unlucky (there's that word again) this whole three start campaign. Unless this rail placement spoils it for backmarkers, I am working on the wide barrier being favourable, or at very least, not disadvantageous to her winning prospects. APACHE BREEZE (18) is $9 the place which is an inviting price about a horse in form and nearing a win. Like him at Randwick with its big straight. Mitch: I went looking for a different angle away from the favourites and landed on RANTAN (10) too. She will need the likes of ZOURIPPER (15) and REGIMENTAL COLOURS (12) to set a genuine tempo up front to get her chance but if she gets clear air late, she will be finishing strong. CASSIEL (3) is racing well and his racing pattern should help him negate the wide draw. He's got the form man Tom Sherry aboard too. LORDSTER (7) is a cheeky hope at double figures. Rantan loops the field to win Race 4 at Warwick Farm for @RonQuinton! — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) December 18, 2024 â– â– â– â– â– Shayno: KING RATEL (9) is perhaps not a guaranteed starter given the draw, but he is on top for me if he comes otherwise it is as open as the Heads – like all good Get Out Stakes should be. Maybe MIRACLE SPIN (3)? Encouraged by the trial. TRAVOLTA (5) wants 1800m now, big time. PUNTIN (6) just keeps on running good races and is 'Bjorn in the last!' Mitch: Saving the best to last Shayno and that's PUNTIN (6). This bloke couldn't run a bad race if he tried, running second, first and second this prep. He has been well prepared for a crack at 1800m here. Provided he avoids another slow getaway, I think he's going to take a power of beating. MIRACLE SPIN (3) is an interesting runner. Matt Smith has wasted no time, going first-up over 1800m. He's raced well and the same track and trip before. The Waller pair of PURE ALPHA (7) and KAZALARK (11) are in the mix.

Tamworth, Albury best bets, inside mail for Friday July 19, 2025

Don't miss out on the headlines from Horse Racing. Followed categories will be added to My News. Form analyst Shayne O'Cass provides his best bets and race-by-race analysis for Tamworth and Albury on Friday. The Form: Complete NSW Racing thoroughbred form, including video replays and all you need to know about every horse, jockey and trainer. Find a winner here! TAMWORTH BEST BET Race 7 No. 10: SAINTLY SANDS Huge run on debut here; even better the next time here as well. NEXT BEST Race 2 No. 3: WANAVAN Won't be left with any excuses from the rails draw. VALUE Race 3 No. 3: HE'STHECHIEF Placed at three of four, lost the rider in the other one. QUADDIE Race 5: 3, 6, 7, 14 Race 6: 2, 4, 5, 6 Race 7: 1, 10 Race 8: 2, 5, 6, 9 Jockey Grant Buckley has a nice book of rides at Tamworth. Picture: Bradley Photos JOCKEY TO FOLLOW GRANT BUCKLEY could be in for a good day. ALBURY BEST BET Race 2 No. 3: STRAIGHT FIRE Arguably 'the best horse in the race' which is a good place to start. NEXT BEST Race 8 No. 6: JUST LUKE LIAM Has a good record at the home track and at this trip. VALUE Race 6 No. 4: ELLIS BEACH Might be the best of a questionable bunch. ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ INSIDE MAIL - TAMWORTH RACE 5: McDonalds Tamworth (Bm58) 1400m CONSIDERED (7) is a So You Think granddaughter of Kiss From A Rose which belies her $30,000 price-tag. Chalk her up as another bargain for Group One Thoroughbreds; she's already won back her purchase price in four starts. Last start winner, drawn well, at home. VISUALISE (6) has been rock solid in his four runs since he got to local trainer Jacob Perrett's stable. Beaten a lip at this track and trip by To Be Frank the other day. Bet: Considered to win, quinella 6, 7 ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ RACE 6: Koobah Performance Horses (Bm82) 1600m RAJNISH (5) has raced at Tamworth twice for a second and then that last start win which also happened to be over the mile. It was a very comprehensive victory too; he came from off the speed to chase down a very respectable bunch. WEALTHY INVESTOR (6) won his fourth race at start 41 out at Dubbo on June 29 but for one, he won very easily indeed and two, his poor win record is more a reflection of some of the strong races he has contested. Bet: Rajnish to win, Daily Double 1st Leg 5, 2nd Leg 6 ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ RACE 7: Kel Penfold Finance Country Boosted (Bm58) 1200m SAINTLY SANDS (10) turned in a fantastic debut here when third to a nice style of horse in Savethebesttilast back on January 6. The Rodney Northam trained filly came back to Tamworth 17 days later and won her 1400m Maiden. Spelled, no public trials, but she is clearly handy filly in a top barn. DEEBO (1) boasts some outstanding figures right across the board but those home track, and trip, numbers are hard to go past. Bet: Saintly Sands to win, exacta 10 to beat 1, quinella 1, 10 ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ RACE 8: Concrete Industry Supplies (Bm82) 1000m ZAKOR (6) has always raced well at Tamworth from the day he broke his Maiden here way back as a two-year-old prior to his fourth in the Romantic Dream. The Justin Bowen-trained gelding tries his heart out every time, if he gets beaten it is usually either bad luck or he just wasn't quite good enough on the day. SPECK (8) resumes on a hat-trick, bearing in mind that the second of the sequence was a Randwick TAB Highway. WHO GOES HERE (3) is four from four at the track and trip. Bet: Zakor each-way ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ INSIDE MAIL - ALBURY RACE 5: Plus Fitness Thurgoona Mdn Plate 900m LUNAR MOJO (1) has been awfully costly to follow but at the same time he has placed at six of his eight starts and four of them are seconds. On top of that he has two seconds and a third from four Albury runs and has twice placed second on Heavy It's now or never again. FITZALAN (6) led and was passed late on debut at Wangaratta, One would imagine that is the modus operandi again here from barrier 2. MACHETE (8) is trained here now and was good in her two Victorian runs. Bet: Lunar Mojo to win ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ RACE 6: Jindera Tyre Service Mdn Hcp 1400m ELLIS BEACH (4) is having his first run for the new management. It will be his first run in NSW as well but he is fit for purpose on the score of a July 7 trial (ran second) at home at Wangaratta. Finds a winnable race. Not sold on the Heavy form of POWERFUL MAJIK (5) but he ran a good race here on debut. CAYMAN ISLAND (7) turned in his best career run when fourth to a handy horse at Wagga at $101. Bet: Ellis Beach to win, Daily Double 1st Leg 4, 2nd Leg 6 ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ RACE 7: Wello's Plumbing Plate (C1) 1600m BLAZING SWORD (5) is a Bendigo-housed three-year-old who shares his name with Contract Racing's exceptional late 1980s colt who ended up as a stallion in Thailand. The 2021 model of Blazing Sword has a tidy little resume of one win, three seconds and a third in his 10 starts. Best of all, the son of Too Darn Hot has a win and a third on his only two Heavy runs. GOOFINATOR (10) sent out some rather positive signs second-up that a win was close at hand. FLUTTERBY (6) is flying. Bet: Blazing Sword to win ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ RACE 8: Kiewa Valley Spring Water (Bm58) 1500m JUST LIKE LIAM (6) is from the 17th and final crop of Albert Stapleford's beloved Magic Albert, a great little over-achiever at stud he was too. Anyway, Just Like Liam is trained here at Albury by Garry Worsnop; 11 times he has raced there for two wins and three placings. He has also won at the track and distance. FREDDY'S SHOCK (10) ran second to Sorry Sunshine on a Heavy 10 at Wagga last start. Both are clearly in the mix here. As is RUSHFORD (1) who was fifth in that same race. Bet: Just Like Liam to win

Hawkesbury preview: Heavy track conditions ideal for Stephen O'Halloran's promising gelding Mal Coupe

Local trainer Stephen O'Halloran was quite happy to see the rain this week and the track enter the heavy range for his in-form gelding Mal Coupe. The three-year-old was good on the soft when a close second at Canberra first-up this preparation but excelled on the heavy ground when he won his maiden at Bathurst by four-and-a-half lengths. He then followed it up with a solid length second behind Hawker Hall on a Soft 6 at Gosford. With that big win on his resume, Mal Coupe has been a popular on TAB Fixed Odds where he firmed from $5.50 second elect into a $3.20 favourite ahead of Duke Of Bronte ($2.80 to $3.60) in the Essential Asset + Fire Conditional Benchmark 68 Handicap (1100m). 'He loved getting on the heavy track and he was impressive winning at Bathurst,' said O'Halloran. The Form: Complete NSW Racing thoroughbred form, including video replays and all you need to know about every horse, jockey and trainer. Find a winner here! 'Even when he got beat at his next start at Gosford, he was pretty good there as well where he ran into a nice horse of Kris Lees'. 'He's very honest and gives a hundred per cent every time he goes around. You can't ask for any more than that. 'I know it's in the heavy range again this week so he's going to get conditions to suit. 'Obviously this race is a benchmark 68 which is stronger than what he has been up against but I don't think he is out of place. 'He's rock hard fit and only carriers 55 and a half kilos. He has ticked the 1100 metres box and the heavy track box. 'It's his home track and hopefully he can get across the line in front. The son of Xtravagant raced well in his first campaign including a debit fifth behind Lady Zodiac and Gunroom at Hawkesbury last October but O'Halloran always knew he would be better this preparation. 'He has definitely come back more mature than he was last preparation and he hasn't put a foot wrong in his three runs so far,' he said. 'He's a home-bred for his owners, Gary and Kay Stevenson, who have been very patient with him. 'He was very immature as a young horse so we have taken our time with him. Jumps, leads, & wins eased down on the line 😮â€ðŸ'¨ HAWKER HALL looks another progressive sort for @NewgateFarm ’s Russian Revolution & the @Leesracing stable ðŸ'ˆ Well found in The Chase’s 2023 @mmsnippets draft by @bevanbloodstock / @AWilliamsBldstk ðŸ'ðŸ' #CHCbred #ChaseTheDream â€' China Horse Club (@Chinahorseclub) June 12, 2025 'Last preparation was more about education but he showed us a little bit. 'We gave him a nice break and hopefully they reap the rewards with him this preparation.' O'Halloran and the Stevenson's also combine with Rule Of Faith who makes her race debut in the Davo's Dash 2YO Maiden Handicap (1000m). The daughter of Hellbent finished in the second half of the field in her two trials but O'Halloran has seen enough in her trackwork to suggests she has nice ability. 'She is only a two-year-old and was very new when she first came in so she had a couple of short preparations. This campaign is the furthest she has got but she is a nice filly,' he said. 'We gave her two trials. The first at Rosehill when there weren't any in the provincial area and she met good horses there. 'Then she had another trial here where she was caught wide. 'I worked her in blinkers last week and she went really well so she will start with them on. ' Emma Ly has been on in her two trials and knows her well so she will ride her. 'She's an emergency at the moment but I expect there to be a few more scratchings with the way the track is. 'I know she has drawn wide but you probably want to be out there when the track is in the heavy range.' â– â– â– â– â– Trainer Amanda Turner said her promising gelding Point Score had genuine excuses for the last start defeat and is ready to bounce back. The striking black colt suffered interference on the home turn which led to further complications when fourth behind Zouripper at Kembla 12 days ago. Prior to that, Point Score sat outside the leader before racing away to an impressive win by nearly two lengths from Mysterious Master and Kilbrannan when resuming on a Heavy 8 at Kembla on May 31. 'He was very good winning at Kembla. He seems to be pretty comfortable on the heavy ground,' said Turner. 'I was disappointed last start, not in his performance but rounding the turn, he was just looming in to it lovely when he was hampered and all but came down. 'He got going again and went to sprint but his race plate shifted and he got two nails stuck in his foot.
