Nissan to cease vehicle production at Oppama plant in Japan

YUICHI SHIGA
TOKYO -- Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan Motor announced on Tuesday that it will discontinue vehicle production at its Oppama plant by March 2028 as part of its restructuring efforts.
Both current and future models scheduled for production at Oppama will be produced at Nissan Motor Kyushu in Fukuoka prefecture in western Japan.

By 2028, the company plans to begin mass producing ampicillin hydrate, an active pharmaceutical ingredient (APIs) essential to the production of penicillin-based antibiotics, and to step up production of other APIs.
