KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Mitchell Starc took six wickets for nine runs, surpassing 400 test wickets in his 100th test, and Scott Boland claimed a hat trick as Australia bowled out the West Indies for 27 to win the third test by 176 runs on Monday,
The West Indies missed the lowest score in test cricket by one run.

Starc's first 15 balls delivered the fastest five-wicket haul in test history, and his 15th five-wicket bag in tests. The tall left-armer took a wicket with the first ball and three wickets in the first over of the West Indies innings at Sabina Park.
Australia took only 14.3 overs to rout the home side in the first day-night test in Kingston and complete a 3-0 series sweep.
While Starc missed a hat trick after dismissing Kevlon Anderson and Brandon King with consecutive deliveries, Boland completed his with the wickets of Justin Greaves, Shamar Joseph and Jomel Warrican. It was the 10th test hat trick by an Australian.
Boland finished with three wickets for two runs.

The West Indies was out for its lowest test score, eclipsing the 47 against England on the same ground in 2004. At 11-6 in the sixth over it was in danger of inheriting the lowest score in test history.
A misfield by Sam Konstas in the 14th over allowed the West Indies to take a single and reach 27, just avoiding New Zealand's 70-year-old record of 26 set against England.
Earlier, Alzarri Joseph took 5-27 as the West Indies bowled out Australia for 121 in its second innings, leaving a chase of 204 runs for victory. Australia began the third day at 99-6 but lasted only eight more overs.
Cameron Green, who battled hard on Day 2 to reach 42, was out to the first ball of the day and the rest of the Australia tail followed quickly.

When West Indies replied, Starc produced an outstanding display of fast bowling on a responsive pitch.
He had opener John Campbell caught by substitute wicketkeeper Josh Inglis with his first ball of the second innings, compelling Campbell to play defensive at a ball which moved away. Inglis kept in place of Alex Carey, who was struck on the helmet by Alzarri Joseph on the second day.
Starc then removed Anderson lbw, bowled King without scoring and Mikyle Lewis for 4, leaving the West Indies four wickets down for five runs. His fifth wicket was Shai Hope, trapped lbw by a ball that swung in at pace to hit the back pad.
When Josh Hazlewood dismissed captain Roston Chase, caught by Inglis without scoring, the West Indies was 11-6. Taking out extras, the top six West Indies batters collectively scored only six runs.

The West Indies was 22-6 at the dinner break. Shortly after it passed 26, helped by two dropped catches in the slips by Sam Konstas off Starc.
Boland's hat trick brought the end closer and Starc's sixth wicket finished the match inside three days.

Where to watch West Indies vs. Australia free live stream, TV channel, start time for 2nd T20 match
After an exhilarating victory in the opening match, Australia will look to extend their lead in the series when they take on the West Indies in the second match on Tuesday. The West Indies, who were coming into this T20I series after falling 0-3 to Australia in the Test series, yet again failed to taste their first victory in the ongoing series. They lost the first match by 3 wickets to Men in Yellow in a thriller. Skipper Shai Hope (55 off 39), Roston Chase (60 off 32), and Shimron Hetmyer (38 off 19) helped the team reach a challenging total of 189 for 7. But couldn't restrict Australia from snatching a victory. Australia, on the other end, would be brimming with confidence by looking at their recent T20I winning track record. They registered a clinical 3-wicket victory over the hosts in the opening match, thanks to the debutant Mitchell Owen's all-round show (50 off 27 and 1 for 14), Cameron Green's half century, and Ben Dwarshuis' (4 for 36) bowling spell. Owen, 23, stole the show with his performance and helped Australia to take a 1-0 early lead in the five-match series. He became only the third Australian batter to hit a half-century on his T20I debut. The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news. West Indies vs. Australia predicted XIs, team news In the absence of injured Evin Lewis, skipper Shai Hope played a crucial role with his bat after scoring a half-century in the opening match in the top order. He made crucial partnerships with Brandon King and Roston Chase at the top. Another half-centurion with the bat, Roston Chase, contributed with a quick-fire 60 from 32 in the first match and would aim to take care of the top-order responsibilities from one end. Shimron Hetmyer also contributed with a blistering 38-run knock from just 19 deliveries, playing his aggressive nature of cricket, and would aim to continue doing the same for his team in the rest of the matches. Andre Russell, who earlier announced his retirement from international cricket, failed to score big in his second-to-last match of his career. Sherfane Rutherford, who has been in sublime touch with his bat lately, also failed to take charge with his bat in the opening match, ultimately leading to a lower-order batting collapse for the home team. Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie were the two spinners in the team in the first outing, and they are likely to continue with their role in the team. However, they have Jediah Blades as another option in the squad waiting for his turn. Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder were the only two full-time pacers in the first match. Romario Shepherd, who missed out on the opening match, could return for this match. West Indies predicted XI: Brandon King, Shai Hope (c/wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Andre Russell, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Romario Shepherd. Australia, on the other hand, has regained its dominant mindset under the leadership of Mitchell Marsh. He led a team that comprised veterans and young guns against a dangerous-looking West Indies in the opening match and registered a clinical three-wicket thrilling victory. Debutant Mitchell Owen stole the show with his quickfire fifty in his debut match, making him only the third Aussie batter after Ricky Ponting and David Warner to do so. He also took one wicket in his only over that he bowled and dismissed Shai Hope. Tim David and Matt Short missed out on the opening match as both of the batters continue to recover from their respective hamstring and side-strain injuries. Jake Fraser-McGurk got his luck favoring him one more time and retained his place at the top, along with skipper Mitchell Marsh, and spin all-rounder Cooper Connolly was slated to bat at the number 7 position. Australia's new number 4, Cameron Green, displayed a powerful hitting stroke play in the opening match and will continue to take care of the middle-order duties. With star pace-bowling trio Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood rested from the T20 series, young speedster duo Ben Dwarshuis and Sean Abbott took care of the bowling responsibilities really well. Experienced leg-spinner Adam Zampa featured as the only full-time spinner in the team; he will be looking to keep his stellar form going in the rest of the matches. Australia predicted XI: Mitchell Marsh (c), Jake Fraser-McGurk, Josh Inglis (wk), Mitchell Owen, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, Ben Dwarshius, Cooper Connolly, Adam Zampa. West Indies Regional Competition Likely In 2026 Ahead Of Olympic Cricket Qualifier
The West Indies represent a group of countries and territories in the Caribbean (Photo by RANDY ... More BROOKS/AFP via Getty Images) AFP via Getty Images A regional competition in the Caribbean is expected next year to determine which sovereign nation will represent the West Indies at a global qualifier set to feature eight teams battling for the final men's cricket spot at the Los Angeles Olympics. A group of mostly British Commonwealth countries and territories in the Caribbean region come together and compete as the West Indies, who are administered by a single governing body, but only sovereign nations are allowed at the Olympics. The West Indies issue has been a conundrum ever since it was announced that cricket would make its long-awaited Olympic return having only previously been part of the 1900 Games. The qualifying process for cricket's six-team men's and women's T20 competitions has become clearer after the International Cricket Council's annual conference in Singapore. Forbes ICC's AGM: Olympic Qualifying, 32-Team T20 World Cup And USA Cricket Lifeline By Tristan Lavalette The ICC has yet to make any announcements but, as I first reported, regional rankings are set to mostly decide which teams make the cut for the men's competition played from July 12-29 in Pomona, 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The top ranked team in Asia, Oceania, Europe and Africa will automatically qualify at a cut-off date alongside host U.S, who would represent the Americas. The final spot will be determined by a single global qualifier likely to be held in 2027 and feature the highest ranked eight teams who did not automatically qualify. India are the reigning T20 World Cup champions (Photo by CHANDAN KHANNA/AFP via Getty Images) AFP via Getty Images If the cut-off date was right now then India, Australia, England (who along with Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland compete as Great Britain in the Olympics), South Africa and U.S. would automatically qualify. The qualifier would comprise: New Zealand, nation from West Indies, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ireland and Zimbabwe. Allocation via the ICC's T20 rankings at a cut-off date had been deemed as the likely outcome, but a compromise was reached after a groundswell of support for qualifiers as I reported last week. The Caribbean regional competition will need to be held at some stage next year, well before the global qualifier. 'We have established our Olympics committee, who will be responsible for advising the board how many countries will play in the regional qualifier,' Cricket West Indies president Kishore Shallow told me during an interview in Singapore. "We welcome it, we embrace it. We're going to try our best to see how we can use this exposure, this platform, to incentivize all our stakeholders. "Hopefully this pathway to the Olympics is going to get greater investment from governments and corporates because the Olympic qualifier is a global event. 'There will be more national interest and could also mean more commitment from players to play for their countries.' The West Indies are two-time T20 World Cup champions (Photo by RANDY BROOKS/AFP via Getty Images) ... More AFP via Getty Images Regional qualifiers to determine the limited number of Olympic spots had been the preference of smaller nations, but costs and logistics amid cricket's cramped schedule made that not practical. But the single qualifier is hoped to showcase the type of drama and spectacle that exists in rival sports such as basketball and its truncated game of 3x3. Cricket has not been made a permanent Olympic sport and the Los Angeles Games is seen as something of a trial run. Cricket is tipped to be included for Brisbane 2032, with Australia being a powerhouse in the sport. But more teams, perhaps 12 per gender, will be hoped for Brisbane which could open the door for a combination of rankings and regional qualifiers. The T20 World Cup is set to determine the women's Olympic spots, but it is not yet known whether the U.S. - who have never qualified for a World Cup - will receive an automatic spot.
