France condemns settler attacks, calls for "Firm Measures" against perpetrators

Paris - Saba: France has condemned the repeated attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank. In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "France condemns the repeated attacks by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, which have resulted in the killing of four Palestinians in recent days in the village of Kafr Malik (northeast of Ramallah) and the town of Surif (northwest of Hebron)." The statement added, "France calls on the Israeli government to take firm measures to put an end to the violence committed by these extremist settlers." It continued, "France reiterates its condemnation of settlement expansion and strongly opposes any form of annexation." The statement further noted, "At the national level, France has imposed individual sanctions on 59 extremist settlers involved in acts of violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank." The settlers' attack on Kafr Malik on Wednesday evening led to the martyrdom of young men: Murshid Hamayel, Mohammed Al-Naji, and Lutfi Sabri, while seven other citizens were injured by gunfire from settlers and Israeli occupation soldiers, according to the Ministry of Health. Additionally, vehicles and homes were set on fire. Last Thursday, citizen Mohammed Ahmed Mahmoud Al-Hour (48 years old) was martyred, and eight others were injured by settler gunfire in the town of Surif. Alongside the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the occupation army and settlers have escalated their assaults in the West Bank, including occupied Quds, resulting in the martyrdom of nearly 1,000 citizens, the injury of around 7,000 others, and the arrest of more than 17,500, according to official figures. Dhamar launches awareness campaign on dangers of drugs

Dhamar – SABA: The Anti-Narcotics Department at the Dhamar Governorate Police launched today an awareness campaign on the dangers of drug use, coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed every year on June 26. At the launch event, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Mahdi, Director of Security in Dhamar, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs on individuals and society. He warned that drugs have become one of the major threats to the community, especially as enemies seek to facilitate drug infiltration into the country in an effort to weaken, corrupt, and divide the population. Al-Mahdi stressed the need for enhanced coordination between security units and relevant authorities to confront this dangerous phenomenon, which poses a threat to the entire nation. He also highlighted the recent success of the Anti-Narcotics Department in seizing a quantity of cocaine—one of the most dangerous drugs—along with other types of narcotics. For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Al-Ezzi Al-Mutawakkil, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, described drugs as one of the major contemporary challenges that devastate nations and destroy generations, particularly targeting youth, who are the foundation for building the future. He called on all relevant institutions to contribute to spreading awareness of drug risks and to work on protecting the community, especially children and young people, by fostering them with faith-based education and keeping them away from the dangers that threaten their wellbeing. Al-Mutawakkil explained that the campaign will reach all districts of the governorate, aiming to educate the public about the grave dangers drugs pose to individuals and society.
