UN condemns settler attack on Kafr Malik

New York - Saba: The United Nations condemned on Thursday the attack by settlers on the village of Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, which took place yesterday, resulting in the killing of three Palestinian civilians and the injury of seven others. This statement was made by UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric during his daily press briefing. "We condemn the attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians," Dujarric said, noting that "a number of Palestinians were killed and injured as a result of this attack." Dujarric called on Israel, the occupying power, to protect civilians and humanitarian workers, stating, "International law must be respected, and those responsible must be held accountable." In May alone, settlers committed 415 attacks in the West Bank, according to data from the Anti-Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority. Alongside Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the occupation army and settlers have escalated their assaults in the West Bank, including occupied Quds. Official figures indicate that around 1,000 Palestinians have been killed, nearly 7,000 injured, and more than 17,500 arrested. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)
