CM Dhami vows to make Uttarakhand corruption free
According to a release, on this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered the oath of corruption free Uttarakhand to everyone.
The Chief Minister gave information about the steps taken towards making the state free from corruption and described the support of the public as the biggest strength of this campaign.
He said that this 'Abhinandan Samaroh is not just an honor, but a celebration of realizing the dream of making Uttarakhand corruption free. This honor belongs to the 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand, who are moving towards the development of the state with the values of honesty, transparency and accountability.'
The Chief Minister said that the action being taken against corruption is 'not a personal victory, but it is a victory of public trust,' power of honesty and expectations of the youth. The state government has made extensive use of technology to ensure transparency under the policy of 'Zero Tolerance', which includes arrangements like online transfer process, CM Helpline 1905 for monitoring the examination system and public grievance redressal and 1064 for corruption complaints.
The Chief Minister said that strict action was taken in cases like irregularities in recruitment examinations, corruption in transfer-posting and commission in schemes. More than 200 people involved in corruption have been sent to jail in the last three years. More than 24 thousand people have been provided government jobs in the state in the last four years.
The Chief Minister said that the governance system has been strengthened in the state by implementing the Uniform Civil Code, making strict anti-copying laws, action against land jihad and love jihad and through anti-conversion and anti-riot laws. He said that these steps have proved that if there is strong will, any challenge can be faced successfully.
The Chief Minister said that 'Operation Kalanemi' is being run to 'expose the real identity of impersonators in the state.' So far, more than 200 suspects have been arrested, including some Bangladeshi infiltrators. The Chief Minister appealed to the public to immediately inform the police about such elements.
The Chief Minister said that adopting the mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'Na khaunga, na khane doonga', the state government is committed to building a transparent, accountable and public welfare governance system. He said that continuous efforts are being made to make the state corruption free, culturally rich and the best state in the country. (ANI)

Uttarakhand Police have questioned 1,250 suspects amid a continuous verification drive under Operation Kalanemi, launched to nab fraudulent religious leaders, a police official said. Under Operation 'Kalanemi', police conducted a campaign arrested fake babas in Haridwar.(ANI) Inspector General of Uttarakhand, Nilesh Anand Bharne, told ANI, 'Uttarakhand Police is conducting a continuous verification drive to interrogate the suspects. The police have questioned 1,250 suspects.' The police official said that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched Operation Kalanemi to maintain the religious and cultural sanctity of the state. "To maintain the religious and cultural sanctity in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed that the police should run the Operation Kalanemi," IG Bharne said. He added that all police officials at the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) levels have been instructed to identify miscreants posing as Kanwariyas. "Along with this, the suspects should be identified, and all the SPs and SSPs have been directed to identify such suspects who mislead the people in the guise of Kanwariyas. These anti-social elements cannot pose a threat, and no one can disturb such communal harmony," he told ANI. On Sunday, Uttarakhand Police arrested 34 individuals posing as saints and sages during coordinated raids under Operation Kalanemi across various police station areas in Dehradun. Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that all those arrested were masquerading as spiritual figures but were found to be engaging in deceptive practices. He said, "Under Operation Kalanemi, today, while taking action in various police station areas, police have arrested 34 fake babas roaming around in the guise of saints and sages, against whom legal action is being taken. Among the arrested fake babas, 23 are residents of other states." Operation Kalanemi was launched on July 10 as CM Pushkar Singh Dhami gave strict instructions to officials to crack down on impersonators who cheat people and exploit their sentiments in the name of Sanatan Dharma in Uttarakhand.

Not informed about bridge opening, CM Siddaramaiah writes to PM
BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, complaining about him not being informed about the inauguration of state's longest cable bridge at Sagar in Shivamogga that was opened by Union Minister for Highways and Transport Nitin Gadkari on Monday. The CM stated that the state government places on record its protest against such non-cooperative action. 'I do hope that all central ministers will be strongly advised to refrain from such discordant acts in the future,' he said. The CM stated that organising any programme in the state without consulting the state government violates the protocol. It is also unusual that the name of a former chief minister was mentioned before the names of deputy chief minister, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and chairman of state Legislative Council. The programme was held in spite of the state government expressing its disagreement. This shows sheer arbitrariness and defies the very spirit of cooperative federalism, which has always steered the Centre and state relations as per the mandate of our Constitution, he added. The CM said the foundation stone laying function, dedicating five National Highway projects of 88 km with an investment of over Rs 2,000 crore, was held on Monday by the ministry of road transport and highways at Sagar in Shivamogga district. Work on bridge unfinished, CM tells PM 'After coming to know about this programme through other sources, I had personally written to the Union Minister on July 11, requesting him to postpone the event,' Siddaramaiah stated. The CM also complained that the programme in Sagar was arranged without consulting the state government and the chief minister's name too was mentioned in the invite. 'Though the minister agreed to postpone the programme on July 11, to our dismay, the function has taken place. Hence I am bringing the serious breach of protocol to your knowledge,' he told the PM. He also mentioned that this bridge was initially conceptualised by the state government in 2013 and subsequently implemented by the central government. He said as per the technical report, the work has not been completed and the inauguration should not have taken place.
