Not informed about bridge opening, CM Siddaramaiah writes to PM
The CM stated that the state government places on record its protest against such non-cooperative action. 'I do hope that all central ministers will be strongly advised to refrain from such discordant acts in the future,' he said.
The CM stated that organising any programme in the state without consulting the state government violates the protocol. It is also unusual that the name of a former chief minister was mentioned before the names of deputy chief minister, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and chairman of state Legislative Council.
The programme was held in spite of the state government expressing its disagreement. This shows sheer arbitrariness and defies the very spirit of cooperative federalism, which has always steered the Centre and state relations as per the mandate of our Constitution, he added.
The CM said the foundation stone laying function, dedicating five National Highway projects of 88 km with an investment of over Rs 2,000 crore, was held on Monday by the ministry of road transport and highways at Sagar in Shivamogga district.

'After coming to know about this programme through other sources, I had personally written to the Union Minister on July 11, requesting him to postpone the event,' Siddaramaiah stated.
The CM also complained that the programme in Sagar was arranged without consulting the state government and the chief minister's name too was mentioned in the invite. 'Though the minister agreed to postpone the programme on July 11, to our dismay, the function has taken place. Hence I am bringing the serious breach of protocol to your knowledge,' he told the PM.
He also mentioned that this bridge was initially conceptualised by the state government in 2013 and subsequently implemented by the central government. He said as per the technical report, the work has not been completed and the inauguration should not have taken place.

'We've told Pakistan that we have no objection to their participation and will issue visas. It is now up to their government to decide whether they want to send their teams,' he explained. The Hockey Asia Cup is scheduled from August 27 to September 7 in Rajgir, Bihar, serving as a qualifier for the 2026 Hockey World Cup in Amsterdam. The Junior World Cup is also set to take place in India later this year. India maintains open stance for multilateral events Mandaviya's remarks reaffirm India's consistent approach of supporting international sporting collaboration, but only within a multilateral context. Nitish cabinet approves target of 1 crore jobs by 2030
Patna, July 15 (UNI) In a significant move, the Bihar cabinet today approved creation of one crore jobs and employment opportunities over the next five years (2025–2030) in the state. The decision was taken in a meeting of the cabinet held here during the day under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The cabinet, in the meeting sanctioned 30 important agendas paving the way for massive employment and infrastructure development in the state. To facilitate the ambitious plan to create one crore jobs and employment opportunities over the next five years, a high-level 12 membered committee will be constituted under the development commissioner. The committee will advise the government on employment generation strategies. The cabinet also sanctioned a one-time additional honorarium of Rs 6,000 to each of the 77,895 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 8,245 BLO supervisors in the state. The one-time honorarium will be in addition to their annual honorarium for conducting the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls. A total of Rs 51,68,40,000 has been sanctioned for the one-time honorarium. While approving the agenda of urban development and housing department, the cabinet sanctioned allocation of Rs 179.37 crore, excluding service tax, to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) on a nomination basis for the maintenance work of the Priority Corridor under the Patna Metro Rail Project for a period of 2 years and 8 months commenting from August 2025 and ending on March 2028. Additionally, approval has been given for the lease of a 3 trainset for a period of 3 years for the operation of the Priority Corridor. The total cost for this lease, including other associated costs and Goods and Services Tax (GST), amounts to Rs 21,1544646 crore. Further, the responsibility for managing this arrangement has also been approved to be assigned to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) on a nomination basis. The cabinet also approved the proposal to transfer a total of 112 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) — including 81 ITIs (with 3,020 created posts) established under the 'Establishment of New Industrial Training Institutes' scheme and 31 Women ITIs (with 855 created posts) under the 'Establishment of New Women ITIs' scheme to the Non-Plan Head under the category of Establishment and Other Committed Expenditures, along with a total of 3,875 sanctioned posts. Several large-scale infrastructure projects cleared by the cabinet include Bhagalpur Ganga Path Project, a 40.8 km road between Sultanganj-Bhagalpur-Sabour with a budget of Rs 4,850 crore and Munger Ganga Path Project, a 42 km stretch between Munger–Bariarpur–Ghorgat–Sultanganj, sanctioned at Rs 5,120 crore. Following the discontinuation of the non-financial education policy, the state has allocated Rs 394.41 crore for assistant grants to teachers and education workers in aided secondary and higher secondary schools for the fiscal year 2025-26.
