
Latest benchmark test has some very concerned about the performance of the Tensor G5 AP
1x Cortex-X4 Prime CPU core running at a clock speed of 3.78 GHz.
5x Cortex-A725 premium-efficiency CPU core running at a clock speed of 3.05 GHz.
2x Cortex-A520 high-efficiency CPU core running at a clock speed of 2.25GHz.
The GPU is the PowerVR D-Series DXT-48-1536. The Instructions Per Cycle (IPC) score for a chip can be approximately computed by dividing the single-core Geekbench score by the CPU's clock speed. With this in mind, here are some results for the last two Tensor APs and some other recent APs as posted on Reddit:
Snapdragon 8g3 (2024): 2213/3.3 = 670.6/GHz
Dimensity 9300 (2024): 2264/3.25 = 696.6/GHz
Exynos 2400 (2024): 2230/3.21 = 694.7/GHz
Tensor G4 (2024): 1958/3.1 = 631.6/GHz
Tensor G5 (2025): 2276/3.78 = 602.1/GHz
These numbers don't look good for the Tensor G5 since it shows the Tensor G4 as being more efficient at executing instructions than the new AP. It also shows the Tensor G5 IPC as having an IPC score 15% lower than the IPC tally for the Dimensity 9300 and the Exynos 2400(!). Remember, this is not an absolutely perfect IPC calculation, but it does give us an approximation.
The latest Geekbench test for the Pixel 10 Fold has some worried about the Tensor G5 AP. | Image credit-Geekbench Another red flag about the Tensor G5 was mentioned by another Redditor who pointed out that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a similar configuration to the Tensor G5 with 1x X4, 5x A720, 2x A520. The only differences are that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 uses an older premium-efficiency core (A720 vs A725), runs on lower clock speeds, but still manages to have a higher multi-core score than the Tensor G5.
Some suggest that Google throttled the AP because this is the next iteration of the foldable Pixel, not one of the regular slab phones. Also, there is the possibility that this is a test on a very early version of the chip. We've seen Geekbench scores improve as a particular phone moved closer to its release date. There are still about six weeks left until the Pixel 10 series gets released, so the Tensor G5 could see better scores. However, until we see better Geekbench for the Tensor G5, this latest benchmark test is concerning.

This will be the first Tensor chip designed from the ground up by Google ; previous Tensor chips used a Samsung Exynos AP as a foundation while Google added some customized parts of the chipset. The change will allow Google to design exclusive Pixel features right into the chipset. The Tensor G5 is also the first Tensor SoC built by the world's largest foundry, TSMC. The four previous Tensor APs were built by Samsung the struggles that Samsung Foundry is having with its yield at 3nm, it is no surprise that TSMC ended up with the job. But a tipster posted an image on "X" showing what he says is a prototype of the Tensor G5 AP. The tipster, @Jukanlosreve, wrote, " I received a photo of aprototype chip, and it's marked as SEC (Samsung). It certainly seems that, at least for the early versions of the, they were considering having the Tensor G5 manufactured at Samsung Foundry."@Jukanlosreve might have thought that the SEC marking on the chip stood for Samsung Electronics Company. However, while Samsung uses that abbreviation in press releases and news articles; it would not be a marking Samsung would typically use on a finished chip to indicate that it was made by Samsung Foundry. Also, there are signs that certain numbers on the chip have been concealed, possibly to perpetuate the myth that Samsung Foundry built a prototype of the Tensor most important project that Samsung Foundry is working on is the 2nm Exynos 2600 AP, expected to power the Galaxy S26 and+ in most markets outside of the U.S., Canada, and China. If Samsung uses the Exynos 2600 AP in those models, in most markets worldwide, themodels using Sammy's homegrown AP will be the first equipped by a chip produced using the 2nm process thing that is clear is that the Tensor G5 AP will not be manufactured by Samsung Foundry and will be produced by TSMC. GSMArena Team , 11 July 2025 . The vivo X200 FE boots Android 15 with a layer of the company's in-house Funtouch OS on top, also v.15. The X200 FE will be eligible for 4 major OS release updates plus an extra year with security updates, which sounds like a good level of futureproofing. The latest Funtouch isn't much different from previous iterations in look and feel, and almost gives off a bit of a dated vibe with its visuals. Funtouch 15 The present-day functionality is, of course, all there. Funtouch includes niceties now taken for granted like large folders, and the split-screen/pop-up window implementation is about as straightforward as it gets, too. The app drawer is worth mentioning too, because that's where Funtouch keeps its widget selection for some reason. Funtouch 15 The X200 FE also comes with Google's Circle to search on board and the Gemini AI assistant as well. A Google Lens-powered screen translation feature is also present. Google AI You also get live translation of phone calls, an AI helper in the Notes app, and an AI Transcript Assist utility for making summaries out of spoken conversations. Note that all of these may be region-dependent and not present in your locale. AI Transcript Assist • AI in Note Also, there's some AI-powered functionality in the gallery editor. NFC Performance and benchmarks The vivo X200 FE is powered by the flagship-grade Dimensity 9300+ 4nm chip. It packs an 8-core processor with a 3.25 GHz Cortex-X4 prime core, three 2.85 GHz Cortex-X4 cores, and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A720 cores. These are all prime and high-performance cores, there are no A510 power-efficient ones. The GPU is the Immortalis-G720 MC12. There are several memory configurations - a base 12GB/256GB version, our review unit's 12GB/512GB spec, as well as the 16GB/512 top-spec variant. Not all of these will be available in all markets, as usual. The vivo X200 FE posted excellent benchmark scores, bested only by the most recent top-notch Snapdragon models. The X100 Pro from last year, which had a similar Dimensity inside, posted slightly higher scores altogether, with the regular X200 and its newer Dimensity 9400 being yet a little more potent, but the FE is plenty powerful enough. The phone kept 53% of its maximum CPU performance when running our usual stress test, and it dropped to this level after just 5 mins. The GPU sustained performance is better - the phone kept about 60% of its graphics capabilities during the 3D Mark stress test. CPU test • GPU test Overall, the vivo X200 FE enters the flagship class with its Dimensity 9300+ chip, scoring below the cream of the crop, but better than the premium midrangers out there. Its sustained performance is average at best, with the phone becoming quite hot after 10-15 mins running at peak performance. Still, for a compact device with powerful hardware, we'd say it's managed rather well.
