Everything to know about the Google Pixel 10 series ahead of its August 2025 launch

Improved cameras with software-driven enhancements While a large chunk of the Google Pixel 10's shooting capabilities reside in the phone's software, there will be a few changes to camera hardware. The Pixel 10 will have an 11MP zoom lens which is a first for the standard model. The main shooter will have a 50MP Samsung GN8 sensor and the ultra-wide camera will use a 13MP Sony IMX712 sensor. By combining the images from ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, the Pixel 10 will have improved macro photography shooting capability. Beyond hardware improvements, the Google Pixel 10 will offer advanced computational photography with enhanced low-light performance, macro and zoom capabilities. AI-powered image processing will utilise more sophisticated image processing algorithms for automatic photo enhancement with the correct levels of exposure, colors and contrast. The Pixel 10 will also take advantage of post-processing features such as Autoframe, Zoom Enhance, Reimagine and Add Me. The Google Pixel 10 series phones will mostly retain the screen sizes of the standard and larger-sized Pixel phones of the previous generation. For the standard model, the new Pixel phone will have a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Google is introducing a higher full-screen peak brightness for the new phones. The Pixel 10 phones will have an HDR brightness of 2000 and 2250 nits for the standard and Pro/XL models. The screens of the new phones will also be designed to reduce eyestrain for more sensitive users. Next-gen processing power with Tensor G5 Above Google Pixel phones are set to reimagine Android with Gemini AI (Photo: Google) Under the hood, the Google Pixel 10 series will debut the all-new Tensor G5 chip, built on a 3-nanometre process by TSMC, the same chipmaker behind Apple and MediaTek's latest processors. This marks a shift away from Samsung, which previously manufactured Google's Tensor chips. The G5 is expected to deliver faster performance, better thermal efficiency and significantly improved AI processing. This opens the door for more advanced applications in gaming, video editing and generative AI features such as voice-enabled photo editing and AI-assisted video creation. AI integration and new Android 16 design Above Introducing: Material 3 Expressive All Google Pixel 10 models will come equipped with 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Battery life sees a boost too, with a 5,000mAh capacity, 29W wired fast charging, and Qi2-compatible 15W wireless charging. Google is also integrating Gemini Nano, its on-device AI model, to handle contextual tasks such as real-time suggestions, smart replies and in-app assistance. These will run seamlessly with the upcoming Android 16, which debuts a new visual update called Material 3 Expressive—a more fluid and dynamic design language featuring personalised themes and animations. Despite only subtle design changes, the Pixel 10 series reaffirms Google's strength: the deep integration of software and hardware. With advanced AI capabilities, a next-gen processor and smarter imaging, the Pixel 10 is set to push the Android experience forward—again.

Google Pixel 10 launch on August 10: Full specs and features revealed

Google is set to launch its Pixel 10 series in just two months, with detailed specifications of the device now available online. Reports suggest that while the Pixel 10 will gain some features, it may also miss out on others seen in previous models. The upcoming phone will carry several design and hardware elements from its predecessor, the Pixel 9, but it will introduce upgrades in key areas such as battery capacity, processing power, and charging speeds. Google Pixel 10 full specifications have surfaced online ahead of the August launch.(Google) According to the Android Headlines report, the Pixel 10 will keep the 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate found on the Pixel 9. The screen will still use Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection. However, the brightness will see an increase, with the high brightness mode rising from 1800 nits to 2000 nits and peak brightness going from 2700 nits to 3000 nits. Google Pixel 10 Pro could get a much-needed display upgrade — but the base model's getting left out

A new report has indicated that the Google Pixel 10 Pro series screens will offer improved PWM dimming compared to the basic Pixel 10 — both good and bad news for potential users' eyes. According to a recent report by Android Authority, Google may use displays with 480Hz Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) dimming for the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL. For comparison, the Pixel 9 Pro is capped at 240Hz. If you've not heard of the term before, PWM refers to how the backlight or pixels of a mobile device's display rapidly turn on and off at different rates to increase or decrease its perceived brightness. You'll never notice this flickering with the naked eye, but at lower brightness levels, when there are larger gaps between the pixels being lit, using the screen can cause eyestrain and headaches in some people, as our friends at Android Central have covered. Google looking to increase the PWM frequency on the Pixel 10 Pro series would go a long way to counter this risk, and also match the 480Hz seen on the Galaxy S25 and the iPhone 16 series. However, the rumor suggests that the base model will stick with 240Hz like previous Pixels, leaving the issue unaddressed for users who don't want or can't afford a more expensive Pro Pixel. This rumor follows others that appear to indicate that Google could limit advancements coming to the new Pixels to the Pro models only. For instance, we recently heard that Google might not incorporate a vapor chamber into the base Pixel 10, but will do so on the Pros. That same leak also claims that the Pixel 10 won't support Wi-Fi 7, which is a confusing omission as it is available on the Pixel 9. On the plus side, there are indications that the Google Pixel 10 will finally feature a telephoto camera, just like the pro models. However, it still appears that some of the features reportedly coming for the Pixel 10 Pro, like the Ultra Res Zoom or Ultra Stable video recording features, won't make an appearance on the vanilla Pixel 10. We have a lot of questions about the next range of Google Pixel phones. While we'd expect the Pixel 10 Pro to find a place as one of the best phones on the market, there's a chance that the base Pixel 10 will simply fall by the wayside when the phone releases. While we don't have a set date yet, we'd expect this to happen around August, which would match the release of the Pixel 9 series. At first this sounds amazing, but dig in deeper in the leaks, and you'd find out that the cost of that new camera is lower-grade image sensors for the remaining two fact, the main and ultra-wide cameras are said to be the same ones that the Pixel 9a is using… Not great news considering we are talking about a $300 price difference! That would be even worse if the rumors of a $100 price hike for I'm here to argue that we shouldn't be too quick with our start with the alleged 'downgrades.' Google is moving from the Samsung GNV and Sony IMX858 — both flagship-tier sensors — to the Samsung GN8 and Sony IMX712. These newer components are smaller and less capable in terms of dynamic range and low-light performance. But we've seen what Google can do with limited hardware which uses similar camera components, is a perfect example. Despite its budget-friendly positioning, it scored 134 in our PhoneArena Camera Score, with strong marks in photo quality and impressive zoom results thanks to Google's Super Res Zoom. It wasn't perfect, but it punched far above its Google applies the same computational magic to the(now with a new Tensor G5 chip) it could extract even more from these 'inferior' parts. And that brings us to the most interesting possibility of all: macro to early rumors, themight take a smart, hybrid approach to macro photography — automatically switching between its new telephoto and ultra-wide cameras based on how close you are to the subject. This could dramatically improve detail and accuracy in close-up shots of textures, small objects, or even tiny insects — an area where most smartphones still fall macro isn't a camera feature many people ask for. It's not exactly the best one for candid family photos or capturing memories on a trip. But personally, I've always had a soft spot for it. There's something special about discovering an entire hidden world through your the leaks are accurate, this hybrid system could give thea serious edge in close-up photography — maybe even better than what the iPhone Pro can is where the's new camera layout starts to make more sense. Personally, I've found telephoto cameras far more useful than ultra-wides. A telephoto camera is useful for portraits, framing landscapes so that there are no distractions, and even for figuring out text that's far away. Most ultra-wide cameras, especially on non-Pro phones, suffer from weaker image quality and distortion prioritizing zoom and letting the ultra-wide step in only when needed, Google might be giving users a smarter, more intentional camera setup. That doesn't mean ultra-wide is useless. But it does mean we're getting a phone better suited to real-world shooting scenarios.I like what Google is doing here — there's no need to go for the best and most expensive image sensor if you can offer the user more by keeping things moderate. I see this as Google focusing on making the camera more adaptable and useful for those who don't want to pay the extra buck for a Pro could be looking at the most creatively flexible base Pixel yet. I might not be the sharpest shooter, or the most advanced one — but maybe it will be the one that makes you want to go out and take more photos. And I am willing to bet money that it once again punches above its weight despite the 'downgrades.'
