CNET10 hours ago
If you've been wanting to buy a new mattress and don't have Amazon Prime, there are plenty of retailers ready to compete with Amazon Prime Day. These deals offer a chance to buy a mattress that'll help you sleep better without having to pay full price. Current deals encompass budget beds, dense memory foam and even durable hybrids. Whatever you're looking for, our team at CNET has looked through every potential deal so you can save.
Amazon Prime Day begins July 8, which means if you're looking for something other than a mattress, you can get fantastic deals on items such as TVs, laptops and home essentials. But act fast, because you never know when these deals will disappear.
Best Prime Day mattress sales: Helix, Nectar, Brooklyn Bedding and more
DreamCloud
DreamCloud makes some of the most affordable luxury-style mattresses out there. DreamCloud also runs some of the best holiday sales you can get. You can currently get up to 60% off mattresses and score $599 in accessories with your order, thanks to their current July sale. A queen DreamCloud hybrid mattress is only $699. This is one of my favorite pillow-top mattresses, and the price makes it even better.
The included accessories with your order are two pillows, a sheet set and a mattress protector.

Brooklyn Bedding
Brooklyn Bedding is one of my favorite mattress brands. Its beds have a classic appeal that delivers comfort without bogging you down in the flowery jargon that other brands do. Right now, Brooklyn Bedding is running a 30% off sitewide sale, still live. All you have to do is use the code JULY30.
Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are already well-priced, and this deal just sweetens that. Our favorite mattress of all time, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid, is on sale for only $932 for a queen. And hot sleepers can snag the best cooling bed I've ever tested, the Aurora Luxe, for only $1,585.

Nectar
Nectar always runs generous sales, and they've just extended their current one. You can still get up to 50% off popular Nectar beds and snag 66% off bundles. That's easily one of the best bundle deals you'll see.
For people looking for a dense memory foam mattress, now is the time to get one for less. The Nectar Classic, which I recommend for back and stomach sleepers, is only $649 for an all-foam queen and $799 for a hybrid. Finding quality online beds under $1,000 can be tough, so memory foam lovers won't want to miss this sale.
The bedding offer, which includes a mattress protector, two cooling pillows and a sheet set, is only $179 instead of $599.

Dreamfoam by Brooklyn Bedding makes some of the nicest budget beds out there. And I'm not talking about affordability because they're under $1,000; these are seriously cheap beds. The 30% off sale for the Fourth of July is still available, making these beds a no-brainer. A 7-inch queen Dreamfoam Doze mattress is only $168. I recommend side sleepers go with the 11-inch model because it's softer, and it costs $234 right now. Use the code JULY30 to take advantage of these savings.

Is Prime Day a good time to buy a mattress?
This July's Prime Day is as good a time as ever to buy your next bed. I've been doing this long enough to know the standard sales from each brand, and I can tell you that these sales match those offered on Presidents Day and Memorial Day, especially considering that this year's July Prime Day is right after Fourth of July.
That also means that if you can't afford a mattress right now, you can just catch the next holiday. Most brands run sales within a set range for every season. For example, Saatva's best sale is generally $600 off mattresses, while Nectar often runs up to 50% off sales for its beds.
Should you shop Amazon Prime Day mattresses if you couldn't shop on July 4th?
Amazon Prime Day starts on July 8, and we expect plenty of mattress deals across Amazon. There's a very good chance that many online bed brands will continue to extend their Fourth of July sales to compete with Amazon's event. If you're looking for beds specially sold on Amazon, like Rolanstar, Siena or the Ashley Home Signature, then waiting for Prime Day is a good idea.
However, if you want a bed from a brand like Saatva, Casper or Purple, I wouldn't wait. Most lingering sales are only going to be around for a short period of time, and I doubt they will be significantly better than right now. Most brands have a set sale range they offer across holidays.

I'm a Diehard Apple Fan, but This July 4th Offer on the Lenovo Tab Plus Has Me Seriously Reconsidering My iPad Obsession

I've been part of the Apple ecosystem for close to 20 years -- since first buying a MacBook in 2006 and getting a free iPod (remember those?) with my purchase. While these days I do most of my work on a much newer MacBook, I've used an older iPad for travel for a number of years. My teenage son is after a new tablet for himself, and though my instinct is to go back to Apple, this Fourth of July offer on the Lenovo Tab Plus has me seriously considering snapping one up. Available directly through Lenovo, the Lenovo Tab Plus is down to $220, a $130 discount on the usual price. For that you'll get 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, great picture quality and excellent sound thanks to built-in JBL speakers. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. It turns out I'm not the only Apple devotee with a penchant for Android tablets. Cesar Cadenas, a writer over at CNET's sibling site ZDNet, wrote a favorable review of the Lenovo Tab Plus. Among his many praises, he particularly loved the JBL eight-speaker system, which packs a surprising punch. As someone who usually feels the need for an external speaker or headphones with my iPad, I love the idea of decent sound quality built in. The Lenovo Tab Plus features an 11.5-inch display, and weighs in at 1.4 pounds. That's pretty lightweight, which makes it ideal for travel. The other tempting feature, beyond that speaker setup, is the integrated kickstand for easy viewing. Ultimately, this device is made for streaming movies, gaming and maybe a bit of e-reading and light internet surfing. As a secondary device to a laptop, it makes a lot of sense. Especially for the teen who keeps borrowing my tablet. You'll also get a MediaTek Helio G99 processor and an Android 14 operating system, which can be upgraded to Android 16. It's capable of a 1TB of expandable storage capacity if you choose. Lenovo Tab Plus: $220 (Original price: $350) See at Lenovo Not convinced? Check out CNET's roundup of the best Fourth of July Apple deals right now. And be sure to browse through some of our other roundups for round the clock bargain updates, including items under $25, top deals from Amazon competitors like Best Buy, Walmart and Home Depot, and more. The Lenovo Pad Plus offers an elevated tablet experience with a decent-sized screen at an already competitive price of $350. With that price dropped down by more than $100, it places this Android tablet firmly in the running, especially if you're on the hunt for a device for a student.
