Jennifer Lopez breaks silence on divorce with Ben Affleck: 'It almost took me out for good...'
Jennifer Lopez
has finally opened up about her divorce from Ben Affleck, revealing how the heartbreak nearly consumed her, but ultimately became the fuel for her most personal and powerful music yet.
A love story ends, Quietly
As reported by Marie Claire, Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, and the split was finalized in January 2025, marking the end of a two-year marriage that had captivated fans around the world. The timing was especially painful, it coincided with what would have been their second wedding anniversary.
Sources close to the couple told Marie Claire that Lopez was 'furious and humiliated' by how things ended, and that both she and Affleck had lingering doubts before making the final decision.
Despite the emotional toll, Lopez has chosen to speak openly about the experience, telling Interview Magazine, 'It almost took me out for good. But now, on the other side of it, I think, 'That's exactly what I needed.''
'Wreckage of you': A song born from solitude
At a private listening party in Los Angeles, Lopez debuted a new track titled 'Wreckage of You,' which she said was written just two weeks prior. According to Hindustan Times, the song is a raw pop ballad that explores the emotional wreckage of a failed relationship but ends on a note of empowerment.

As reported by News18, Lopez told fans that the idea for the song came to her while lying in bed after a long day of rehearsals. 'Last year was a very difficult time for me, both personally and professionally,' she said. 'I had to cancel my tour and really focus on myself.' One attendee described the track as 'a very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person'.
The mansion that won't let go
Despite the emotional clarity Lopez has found, some practical remnants of the relationship remain unresolved.
According to Marie Claire, Lopez and Affleck have struggled to sell their 60 million dollars Los Angeles mansion, which was listed in 2024 but has since been pulled from the market. The home, once a symbol of their rekindled romance, now stands as a lingering reminder of what once was.
A new era: Tour, transformation, and total freedom
Lopez is now preparing to launch her 'Up All Night' world tour, which kicks off in Pontevedra, Spain, on July 8, 2025, and will span Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia before returning to the U.S.
for a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace beginning December 30, 2025, through March 2026.
In her Interview Magazine profile, Lopez emphasized that she's not looking for love right now. 'Being in a relationship doesn't define me,' she said. 'I can't be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself'.
A voice reclaimed
Lopez's decision to speak out is more than a celebrity confession—it's a declaration of self-worth. As she told E! Online, 'This is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.' She added, 'That doesn't mean it didn't almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'F--k, that is exactly what I needed''.

'Mom and I live in different cities. But during the shoot, we lived under the same roof for over a month. We'd start our mornings with chai and breakfast, go to set together. It was an emotional and joyful time. The last time we spent this much uninterrupted time together was when my daughter Samara was born. Even though we live apart, we're in touch every day,' shares Riddhima. 'I would send Ranbir photos of my looks and clips from scenes' As she stepped into this new chapter, Riddhima turned to her brother, Ranbir Kapoor , for guidance. The emotions were so real, and my mom was shaken seeing me like that,' she says.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma just made Wimbledon 2025 a whole lot more stylish
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma recently turned heads at Wimbledon, proving their fashion prowess extends beyond the cricket field and Bollywood sets. While Novak Djokovic battled on Centre Court, the stylish couple stole the spotlight with their impeccable outfits. Virat sported a tan blazer, while Anushka stunned in a white structured blazer, showcasing effortless elegance. Wimbledon might be all about tennis, but let's be real, it's also low-key a fashion runway. And this week, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma totally stole the show from the stands. The couple showed up to watch Novak Djokovic do his thing on Centre Court (a solid win over Alex de Minaur, btw), but it was their outfits that had everyone talking. Virat looked super sharp in a tan blazer paired with a crisp white shirt and a patterned grey tie. Classic, clean, and totally on point. His look was polished without being stuffy and yes, the groomed beard and slick hair were doing all the right things. Anushka, as always, nailed the effortlessly chic vibe. She wore a white structured blazer over a matching top - very simple, very elegant, but still totally cool. Her hair was styled in soft waves, and she kept her makeup fresh and minimal, letting that natural glow do its job. The little details - like her gold hoops, delicate bracelet, and oversized sunnies, tied the whole look together. Oh, and let's not forget the straw hat casually placed next to her. Wimbledon dress code: understood and elevated. They weren't the only celebs there - Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Cate Blanchett, David Beckham, and Rebel Wilson were also spotted but Virat and Anushka definitely held their own in that star-studded crowd. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Top Public Speaking Course for Children Planet Spark Book Now You could tell they weren't trying too hard, and that's probably why they looked so good.
