Jennifer Lopez
, the 'Diva' of Hollywood, has aligned all her creative forces even while she is busy. The 55-year-old star has had her heart broken by
Ben Affleck
– twice in her life, and she made sure to use all her emotions to create a work of art.
A JLo party with brand new songs
Recently, Lopez invited 30 Los Angeles-based fans for a top-secret listening party for brand new songs, which she would debut on the upcoming international tour. 'Outreach to fans started on Tuesday, but it was all kept a surprise as to what was happening until they were in the room with Jennifer,' the insider shared. The singer played 'Up All Night,' 'Regular,' 'Free,' 'Save Me Tonight,' and 'Birthday,' and one ballad, 'Wreckage of You,' in front of the attendees.
'Wreckage of You'
According to US Weekly, the attendee, Edgardo Luis Rivera, stated that the pop ballad 'Wreckage of You' was co-written by Lopez and recorded two weeks ago. 'She said she was lying in bed after a long day of tour rehearsals when the idea of the song came to her. She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her, both personally and professionally,' Rivera shared.
'She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself.
Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger,' the partygoer said.
Additionally, Rivera mentioned that Lopez kept thinking of the word 'wreck' because it means destruction, but she wasn't destroyed by the split-up. In fact, the lyrics are 'I'm stronger after the wreckage of you.'
Another attendee said that 'Wreckage of You' is a powerful song that talks about walking away from a relationship, only to be stronger at the end. They added that the party was more than just the songs, and JLo gave them tickets to their shows, swag bags with t-shirts, JLo beauty products, and signed posters.

Jennifer Lopez Opens Up On Divorce From Ben Affleck: 'It Almost Took Me Out For Good'

Last Updated: Last week, Lopez hosted a private listening party in Los Angeles where she previewed tracks from her upcoming international tour. Jennifer Lopez is finally breaking her silence on her emotional split from Ben Affleck—and she's channelling that heartbreak into her music. According to Marie Claire, the couple's divorce was quietly finalised in January 2025, nearly two years after their lavish wedding. Lopez had filed for divorce the previous summer, making the timing even more heartbreaking—it fell close to their second wedding anniversary. But rather than shy away from it, the global superstar is turning the pain into art. Last week, Lopez hosted a private listening party in Los Angeles where she previewed tracks from her upcoming international tour. One standout was a newly written track titled Wreckage of You, which she revealed had come to her just two weeks prior, while lying in bed after rehearsals. In an interview with Interview Magazine, Lopez opened up about the mental and emotional toll the divorce took on her. 'It almost took me out for good," she admitted, before adding, 'But now, on the other side of it, I think, 'That's exactly what I needed.'" The pop ballad reportedly explores the emotional devastation of a relationship that didn't survive—but also speaks to the strength and healing that followed. Fans who heard the track described it as one of her most vulnerable works yet—raw, honest, and powerful. Lopez's ability to blend personal pain with musical storytelling is earning praise online, with many calling it a career-defining evolution. However, not all aspects of the split have been resolved. The former couple's $60 million Los Angeles mansion, which they once called home, remains a sticking point. Marie Claire reports that the house was put on the market in 2024 but was recently pulled, indicating ongoing disagreements or complications behind the scenes. While the world speculates about what led to the high-profile divorce, Lopez is choosing to speak through her music. First Published: July 08, 2025, 04:09 IST

Matthew McConaughey champions relief for Texas flood victims

Texas-based actor Matthew McConaughey has often batted for his state. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he leads the way when it comes to celebrities seeking relief for flood victims in Texas. 'At least 70 lives have been lost, many more unaccounted for, and countless Texans are hurting — inside and out,' the Dallas Buyers Club star wrote on his Instagram Stories. 'If you're able, please lend a helping hand where and how you can. It's gonna be a long road ahead, but right now the shock, the pain, and the chaos need the steady hand of a neighbor,' he added. 'Texans are some of the most resilient and generous people on the planet.' McConaughey has been a vocal advocate for his home state, particularly in promoting its potential as a significant film and television production hub. He has actively campaigned alongside other prominent Texas-born actors such as Woody Harrelson, Dennis Quaid, Billy Bob Thornton, and Renée Zellweger, to push for increased film incentives in Texas. McConaughey's deep connection to Texas is also evident in his career. He has starred in many films set in Texas, such as Lone Star, and films where his character embodies a distinctly Texan persona, such as Dazed and Confused. The actor rallying for flood victims further underscores his commitment to his home state.
