Amazon adds 'one of the best horror TV shows ever'

It's perfect viewing for fans of all things horror
Amazon Prime has just added multiple seasons of what's been dubbed 'one of the best horror series ever' that is Stranger Things meets American Horror Story.
The retail behemoth has now included the first three seasons of anthology show Channel Zero in its line-up.Much like the popular FX series, it's an anthology title that presents a different chilling tale each season.

It ran for four seasons in total, meaning the majority of episodes are now available on Amazon for viewers to delve into. Each season offers a new eerie narrative that any horror aficionado will relish.

Season one, subtitled Candle Cove, follows a child psychologist who returns to his hometown to investigate if his brother's disappearance is linked to a series of similar incidents or possibly connected to a strange children's television show that aired concurrently.
The second season, named No-End House, features a young woman and her friends visiting a house of horrors, leading them to question whether it's a tourist attraction or something far more sinister. Meanwhile, the third instalment, Butcher's Block, tracks a young woman and her schizophrenic sister as they move to a city plagued by a series of disappearances, reports Surrey Live.
After suspecting a link to a mysterious rumour, they must join forces to uncover the entity terrorising the city's inhabitants. The series' plotlines are all inspired by popular creepypastas, typically defined as horror-related legends or images circulated on the internet.
The show continues to receive high praise from fans and is highly recommended for horror enthusiasts. Drawing comparisons to similar anthology shows, a critic from Collider even stated that " Channel Zero did what American Horror Story couldn't adding: " adding: "Channel Zero never lost sight of being an amalgamation of themes, but it did it all while remaining truly terrifying."

This sentiment was echoed by Gamespot, which labelled the show as 'one of the best horror TV shows ever'. Another reviewer hailed it as 'TV's most underrated horror series'. It boasts an impressive overall score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, with the second and third seasons achieving perfect ratings.
One fan who shared their thoughts on the series commented: "Somewhere between American Horror Story and Stranger Things. Channel Zero provides subtle horrors shared by children around the world. Relying on few jump scares or over-the-top special effects, Candle Cove still delivers spine-tingling terror. For those who prefer chills to thrills, a must watch."
Echoing the sentiment, someone else posted: "If you loved Stranger Things, check out Channel Zero. It's well-written, expertly directed and creepy as hell. Have to say, I'm hooked. Good stuff."
Meanwhile, another weighed in: "Suspenseful and nightmare inducing. This show has serious potential...I hope it continues down this path."

Neighbours legend's new role with major UK TV star after 31 years as Susan

The prospect of not having Neighbours legend and acting powerhouse Jackie Woodburne on our screens isn't worth thinking about – and thankfully we don't have to as the Susan Kennedy star has landed a new role. In just over a week since Neighbours wrapped production for the second time, Jackie – who has portrayed Ramsay Street royalty Susan for 31 years – has already lined up a new part. The soap titan has joined the cast of Imposter, a new four-part drama set in Australia that will see a family at war over a hotel when mum Helen refuses to sell up, despite her children demanding that she does so. The soapy plot twists and turns follow, with Helen having had a secret daughter named Amanda, who she gave up for adoption decades earlier. When Amanda unexpectedly shows up, Helen is delighted – but this is the just the beginning of what's set to unfold. Consider us intrigued and excited already. Jackie will be starring opposite Coronation Street and Waterloo Road star Kym Marsh, who will play a key role in the Channel 5 drama. Neighbours, which was axed by Channel 5 in 2022, returned to screens in 2013 when Amazon's ad-supported free service Freevee swooped in to rescue it. The daily escapades of Erinsborough residents thrilled fans for another two years before the decision was made by Amazon (in the wake of Freevee's closure) not to renew Neighbours for another season. More Trending Production wrapped on the long-running Aussie soap – a staple of daytime TV in the UK for 40 years – earlier this month, with the final episode slated to drop in December. Discussing her time on the serial, Jackie said: 'It's impossible to measure the gratitude I feel for the gift of 30 years on Neighbours. 'To do so I would have to calculate the number of extraordinary cast and crew I have been privileged to work with, count the number of laughs I have shared with them, measure the pride I feel for the diverse, dramatic (and sometimes outrageous!) storytelling we have all been a part of. View More » 'We are the best version of 'family'. It has been a wild ride into a happy life. [I] wouldn't change it for quids!' Smells lovely and a little goes a long way! I tanned after the first day of using it and the spf is good, although I'd prob recommend putting sun screen on first if you burn easily. I'll never go on holiday without it and for a fraction of the cost of the other known brands." Another buyer beams: "Just returned from a holiday and took this with me. Really pleased with the results, I struggle to tan my legs no matter how hard I try. Used this for a week and my legs have a lovely golden tan. Soap star Alan Fletcher says Neighbours is finishing ‘at its peak'

The programme had its final day of filming earlier this month after its two-year Prime Video revival which followed it being dropped from broadcast by Channel 5 in 2022. Fletcher, 68, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy for 30 years, said it is 'fair to say' he is now more famous in the UK than Australia due to the popularity of the show here. He told ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB): 'It's extremely popular. It sits in the top five programmes (on Amazon). A post shared by Neighbours (@neighbours) 'Amazon gave us an extra 400 episodes, and we are eternally grateful. 'I have to say to you, when we finished filming, rather than the sadness we had the first time, I sat back and thought, 'Do you know what? We've been given the opportunity to make the best Neighbours we ever could have made'. 'That's where we finished up. I reckon Neighbours is at its peak.' The cast wrapped filming on July 11 at Nunawading Studios and the soap's final broadcast after 40 years will be in December. The programme, which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce among others, has followed the lives of people living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough since 1985. Neighbours was dropped by Channel 5 in 2022 after it failed to secure new funding, with a finale episode in July that year attracting an average audience of 2.5 million when several well-known characters returned to the show to say goodbye. The soap's return was announced in late 2022, with a social media clip featuring some of the characters being told the news. In February this year it was announced the programme would end after reports production company Fremantle failed to secure a deal with Amazon.
