The programme had its final day of filming earlier this month after its two-year Prime Video revival which followed it being dropped from broadcast by Channel 5 in 2022.
Fletcher, 68, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy for 30 years, said it is 'fair to say' he is now more famous in the UK than Australia due to the popularity of the show here.
He told ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB): 'It's extremely popular. It sits in the top five programmes (on Amazon).

'Amazon gave us an extra 400 episodes, and we are eternally grateful.
'I have to say to you, when we finished filming, rather than the sadness we had the first time, I sat back and thought, 'Do you know what? We've been given the opportunity to make the best Neighbours we ever could have made'.
'That's where we finished up. I reckon Neighbours is at its peak.'
The cast wrapped filming on July 11 at Nunawading Studios and the soap's final broadcast after 40 years will be in December.
The programme, which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce among others, has followed the lives of people living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough since 1985.
Neighbours was dropped by Channel 5 in 2022 after it failed to secure new funding, with a finale episode in July that year attracting an average audience of 2.5 million when several well-known characters returned to the show to say goodbye.
The soap's return was announced in late 2022, with a social media clip featuring some of the characters being told the news.
In February this year it was announced the programme would end after reports production company Fremantle failed to secure a deal with Amazon.

What is Chantaines in The Assassin?

The Prime Video series has been gripping viewers ‌ The Assassin only landed last week, but the show has already shot to the top of Prime Video in the UK as audiences binge through the thriller. ‌ The six-part series follows retired hit woman Julie Green (played by Keeley Hawes), who is pulled onto one last job - but there's more to it than she could ever have imagined. ‌ Adding another layer of complexity is that Julie's estranged son Edward Green (Freddie Highmore) has come to visit her after several years. What starts out as a run-of-the-mill job turns into something much bigger with Julie and Edward going on the run as they try to uncover the truth. The series from the makers of The Tourist and The Missing has left fans with many questions and surprise after realising one cast member's iconic role - here's the answer to two of the biggest mysteries of the show. ‌ What is Chantaines in The Assassin? The big mystery of the show was the word 'Chantaines' after Kayla Cross (Shalom Brune-Franklin) asked right from episode one what it all meant. Chantaines was the name of Kayla's mother's French poodle, which was in turn was named after a marmalade that she'd become obsessed with. ‌ However, Chantaines was actually the codeword for the hit Kayla's parents ordered on a French arms dealer Jean-Luc Bertrand. Aaron Cross (Alan Dale) and his wife ordered the hit to 'erase' Jean-Luc after they borrowed money from him when their lucrative company CGM fell on hard times during its early days. Details of Chantaines were in Kayla's mother's suicide note, which Aaron had tried to keep from his children. ‌ Sadly, the guilt of the ordered murder pushed her to take her own life, while Aaron was left living with their decision. Julie confirmed she had been assigned to the French Poodle hit, which also had another shocking twist and coincidence to it. ‌ Who is Edward's dad in The Assassin? There were plenty of red herrings before Edward's father was finally revealed. Edward's father was Jean-Luc, who was killed by Julie and the same arms dealer the Cross family had ordered the hit on. ‌ Julie had believed the house was empty apart from the arms dealer and was shocked to discover Jean-Luc's family, including his wife Marie (Gina Gershon) and infant son Florent were also in the property. Marie revealed to Edward that Julie had shot her in the head after killing Jean-Luc, believing she was dead. Julie had then heard Florent crying out and had kidnapped him, hoping to provide the child with a better and less dangerous life. ‌ So, she had lied to Edward/Florent to protect him from the truth. Despite getting shot, Marie had survived and remained in a coma before eventually coming to. She had vowed to take revenge on Julie and be reunited with her surrogate son Florent. Marie also confirmed she wasn't Edard's mother and never wanted children, so Jean-Luc had used a surrogate to have a child. The show ended with Edward/Florent going off to meet his real mother with Julie accompanying him and Kayla.

The Chase's Darragh Ennis shares natural method to eliminate pesky house flies

The Chase's Darragh Ennis, also known as The Menace on the ITV quiz show, has a genius hack for keeping flies out of your home - and it's all natural and costs just £12 You could ward off flies this summer with a "brilliant" tip shared by The Chase star Darragh Ennis. As an entomologist, Darragh has a clever method to eliminate the insects from your home, especially if you have houseplants that draw them in. ‌ In a recent TikTok video, the 44-year-old TV personality, also known as The Menace on the ITV quiz show, shared a straightforward and natural approach to tackle the small black flies that can prove troublesome during the summer months. These pests, called fungus gnats, can be "really hard" to eradicate and frequently inhabit houseplants, creating annoyance and prompting many people to abandon their plants entirely. ‌ Darragh said in his video: "If you've got little insects flying around your house, it can be really annoying. ‌ "Now, I'm an entomologist, so I love insects, but I still don't want those tiny little black flies all over my house, and they're really hard to get rid of - especially when they live in your houseplants. "They're called fungus gnats because they live in compost and stuff, and they're a big pest in mushroom growhouses and things. Getting rid of them with chemicals is really hard." ‌ Darragh recommends a strategy to maintain your houseplants whilst banishing the flies at the same time - utilising nematodes. He explained: "You've probably never heard of them, but they're little microscopic worms that live in the soil. "They're probably the most common animal on the planet, but we can't see them. There's billions upon billions upon billions of them." He continued: "One type of them crawls inside insects and kills them. Now, it's a bit gruesome, but it's a natural way of killing them. ‌ "You can just order these online. You just put these into a watering can and then pour them on your house plants. The best bit about this is that they crawl through the soil and hunts through the larvae and everything so they're gone. "So if you want to get rid of those little flies and you don't want loads of chemicals, buy some nematodes. I studied them for my PhD, and now they're useful in my house." Darragh also showed off the packet of nematodes he had bought online, branded as Sciarid Fly Nematodes, available on Amazon for roughly £12. How to ward off flies You can prevent flies from entering your home using several natural solutions, including utilising herbs and plants the pests despise the scent of. These include basil, lavender, mint, bay leaves, and marigold. Then you can also whip up an essential oil spray by mixing one cup of water, 10-15 drops of an essential oil such as peppermint, lemongrass, citronella, or lavender, and one tablespoon of vodka (optional, but aids in blending the oils) into a spray bottle and spritzing it around windows, doors, and other entry points in your home. Another popular method to keep flies at bay, especially tiny ones like fruit flies, is to create a homemade trap. This can be done by combining apple cider vinegar and washing up liquid in a bowl, covering it with cling film, and then piercing a few small holes in the top.

Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls leaves Charlotte Hawkins stunned with swipe at her 'podgy' appearance - as she warns him 'we'll have words after this'

Melvin Odoom had to intervene and diffuse tension while appearing on Tuesday's episode of Good Morning Britain 's after Ed Balls made a cheeky comment about his co-star Charlotte Hawkins. During the most recent episode of the ITV show, hosts Ed, 58, and Charlotte, 50, were chatting to Melvin, 44, about some of the showbiz headlines. One topic that got people talking about how singer Mariah Carey, 56, has said that 'aging just doesn't happen to her'. Just moments before they shared an old snap of the Ed on our screens, the broadcaster confessed: 'People look the same as when I was 21. But do I want that?' They then shared an old video of Charlotte showing off a white fitted coat while modelling on ITV's This Morning a number of years ago. Charlotte said: 'Oh don't show that one. No one wants to see that. There's a reason why people don't want to see that.' A shocked Melvin asked: 'When was that?!' to which Charlotte replied: 'It was on This Morning!' An intrigued Ed asked: 'Has Charlotte aged well or badly?' He continued: 'How have you aged? I think you have aged beautifully.' Charlotte said: 'Thank you Ed. That is very lovely of you to say.' Ed told her: 'You almost look younger than then. Then you were a bit more podgy.' Charlotte let out a big gasp as she was shocked with what he said. Melvin chimed in: 'Ed, Ed. Stop. Ed. Move on. I'm trying to help you my brother. Move on.' Moments after the segment wrapped up, Charlotte turned to her co-star and asked: 'Podgy?!' The show shared an old video of Charlotte showing off a white fitted coat while modelling on ITV's This Morning a number of years ago (pictured) Trying to get himself out of a very awkward situation, Ed told her: 'I think you look lovely.' Luckily Charlotte saw the funny side of things and said: 'We'll have words after this...' Last week Good Morning Britain viewers called for a presenter to be investigated by Ofcom as he hosted Tuesday's instalment of the ITV show. The latest episode of the programme saw Kate Garraway, 58, and Ed Balls, 58, return to our screens to discuss the latest headlines and newsworthy topics. During one segment the pair discussed the small boat crisis with Michael Gove, 57, and Kevin Maguire, 64. And some think that Ed shouldn't be involved in political interviews when his wife, Yvette Cooper, 56, is the Home Secretary. Some took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. 'Ed Balls 'grilling' a Labour MP when you're wife's the Home Secretary should be investigated by OFCOM. It's not right...' 'Smug Ed Balls, whose wife is chief of command for protecting the public in this country, should pipe down.' 'I simply cannot stand Ed Balls, he is so smug and has a clear conflict of interest because his wife is a cabinet member (and not a good one either). His smug smile is so annoying!' 'Total embarrassment listening to #GMB this morning nearly every story mentioned by the panel is the actual responsibility of the Home just happens to be 'Mrs Ed Balls', the pointlessness of this 'chat' is truly appalling.' Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 from 6am and is available to stream on ITVX.
