No BJP alliance ever: Ex-revenue officer who joined actor Vijay's party
Responding to comments by BJP leaders like Nainar Nagendran and Tamilisai Soundararajan, who suggested Vijay should align with the BJP, Arunraj dismissed them as 'unsolicited advice.' He said, 'If they really have strength in Tamil Nadu, they should grow their party organically. They claim to be the biggest party in India, then why do they need our shoulders? We are not here to let anyone climb using us. 'Our job is to question the party in power. Since DMK is ruling, we are questioning DMK. Our leader has made it clear—TVK is neither AIADMK nor DMK to make compromises with BJP,' he added.On the issue of youth support, Arunraj said that the entry of Vijay into politics has energized a generation disillusioned by corruption and dynastic politics. 'Before TVK, there was apathy among youth. Today, they are our biggest strength. Vijay evoked the legacies of Periyar, Kamarajar, Velunachiyar, and Anjalai Ammal, reintroducing their ideologies to a generation that had lost touch.'Responding to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's remark that politics is not easy and that Vijay should be prepared for hardship, Arunraj took the comment in stride. 'We are not AIADMK, DMK or even Jana Sena. We know politics is difficult. Easy things anyone can do - difficult things are for great leaders like Vijay,' he said.On the road ahead, Arunraj was confident that the 2026 Assembly elections would mark a turning point. Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray will on Saturday participate in a joint victory rally organised by the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), in Worli Dome to celebrate the MahaYuti government's decision to withdraw two government resolutions on the introduction of Hindi from Classes 1 to 5. It will be the first joint rally of the Thackeray cousin brothers Uddhav and Raj, after the split in the Shiv Sena in 2005. Amid talks of coming together ahead of the upcoming BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections slated to be held within the next six months, Uddhav and Raj have decided to jointly rake up the issues of Marathi language and 'Marathi Manoos' in a serious bid to corner the BJP-led MahaYuti government in Maharashtra. Both the parties have decided not to display party flags and banners but the Shiv Sainiks and ManSainiks have worked hard to put up a major show of strength on Saturday. Uddhav and Raj Thackeray will be seen on the same platform as they will reach the joint rally venue at 11.30 A.M. Before they speak, the Communist leader Prakash Reddy, the Peasants and Workers Party of India leader Jayant Patil and NCP (SP) leader and party MP Supriya Sule will address the rally. Incidentally, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has conveyed his inability to be part of the joint rally due to prior engagements but said his party is against the imposition of Hindi in Maharashtra. The senior Pawar chose to stay away so that the focus will remain on both the Thackeray brothers. The Congress has decided not to join the rally especially due to differences with Raj Thackeray's protests against Hindi speaking people, especially North Indians. Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS sources said that if the Congress decides to join at the last moment the party representative will be given an opportunity to address the joint rally. Big screens have been installed inside and outside the joint rally venue as the organisers expect a big turnout. Both the Thackeray cousins have said that the issue of imposition of Hindi is not yet over as the government's move to appoint the Narendra Jadhav committee is meaningless and they will continue to oppose the introduction of Hindi.

CM Rekha to begin public hearings from new Raj Niwas Marg bungalow
New Delhi: A special hawan and pujan ceremony was conducted on Friday at a government bungalow on the Raj Niwas Marg that has been allotted to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Though Gupta will continue residing at her private home in Shalimar Bagh for now, she will begin holding daily public meetings at the newly allotted residence, which she referred to as 'Chief Minister Janseva Sadan.' 'This is not a personal house; this is a place for public service. People will be heard here every morning,' Gupta said after the ritual. She is expected to officially move into the bungalow during the upcoming Navratri festival in September. The newly allotted government accommodation, located in Civil Lines, includes two bungalows 1/8 and 2/8 Raj Niwas Marg, which will function as her official residence and camp office. The premises are currently undergoing renovation, with costs estimated around ₹60 lakh, according to officials from the Public Works Department. The decision to allot this bungalow was made keeping in mind its proximity to the Raj Niwas Secretariat, ITO, and other central government offices. Several senior BJP leaders including ministers, MLAs, and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva were present at the hawan ceremony. Gupta had earlier declined to move into the controversial Sheeshmahal bungalow in Civil Lines, which was used by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP had raised serious allegations during the Assembly election campaign, claiming that irregularities in the construction of Sheeshmahal amounted to a scam. A vigilance inquiry into the matter is on.

Congress alleges BJP-Nikita link in Ajithkumar custodial murder, Nainar rejects it
SIVAGANGA: A slugfest broke out between TNCC and BJP on Friday over the alleged political affiliation of JP Nikita, on whose theft complaint security guard B Ajithkumar was picked up by police and allegedly assaulted, leading to his death. Speaking to reporters after visiting Ajithkumar's family, TNCC president Selvaperunthagai said Nikita had played a role in organising the recently held Murugan Maanadu in Madurai. He also mentioned that she is a follower of BJP leader K Annamalai. TN BJP president Nainar Nagenthran, who also visited Ajithkumar's family, responded to media queries about this. When a reporter asked him about a picture of Annamalai posing with a person presumed to be Nikita, Nainar said he was not aware of the development. Further, he said anyone can take photos with a politician in public life, and it does not imply they are associated with the party. Also, he denied Nikita's role in the Murugan Maanadu.
