Rob Cross claimed his fourth World Series title after marginally defeating Gerwyn Price 8-7 in last year's thrilling final.

And the Englishman admitted that he was 'very grateful' to have clinched the title after beating Dutch icon Michael van Gerwen and World No1 Luke Humphries on his way to the top.
But Cross will have to pull out all the stops once again if he is to retain his crown with some of the world's best taking part in New York this year.
This includes teen sensation Luke Littler, who is determined to put his shock World Cup of Darts early exit with Humphries behind him.
When is the US Darts Masters 2025?
The US Darts Masters 2025 will take place on Friday, June 27.
It will then conclude the following day - Saturday, June 28.
The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York is the chosen venue for this thrilling competition.
First round and quarter-final matches will be best of 11 legs, the semi-finals are set to be best of 13 legs, and the final is best of 15 legs.

Terrifying moment Nascar mechanic is struck by flying tire during pit stop in heart-stopping accident
NASCAR produced a terrifying moment in its race last weekend. While racing at Pocono Raceway, a tire was flung into a pit crew member accidentally. 3 3 JP Kealey works as a tire changer for Trackhouse driver Shane Van Gisbergen. However, things went downhill quickly when fellow Trackhouse driver AJ Allmendinger came in at the same time for a stop. Allmendinger came into his pit box too fast, sliding across the pavement and knocking a tire out of a pit crew member's hands. That tire went flying towards Kealey and struck him hard. The impact jammed his air gun directly into the side of his body. Kealey is a former pro lacross player, and was left doubled over in pain before ultimately fighting through the pain. Despite being able to finish the job, Kealey was forced to go to the hospital following the game. It was revealed by Skip Flores of the Stacking Pennies podcast that he suffered two broken ribs. Kealey also later revealed that his injuries included a partially collapsed lung. The footage of the incident is terrifying, and Nascar fans shared how tough Kealey was for getting his job done. American Thunder, NASCAR To Le Mans "Scary moment there on pit road," one fan said. "These guys are STUDS. Insane," another fan said. "Man that guy is a baller for finishing the pit stop anyway," a third fan said. "Nascar pit team tough WOW," a fourth fan said. "Tough, super athletes. His ribs are sore," a fifth fan said. The rough moment on pit lane was ultimately a sign of what was to come during the race. Van Gisbergen ended up finishing 31st at The Great American Getaway 400. Noel "Bud" MIller Jr will fill in as his tire changer for the Quaker State 400 this weekend.

Qualifier wants to go from one iconic stage in New York to another in London American hero Jason Brandon shattered Stephen Bunting and is chasing down a dream date at the Ally Pally. The 50-year-old produced the biggest performance of his career to batter The Bullet in the US Darts Masters at Madison Square Gardens in front of a joyous New York crowd. Brandon won 6-4 over Bunting with the Tennessee slinger earning redemption for his loss to Rob Cross on the stage two years ago. But, as well as success in the States, he also has eyes on another iconic venue in London and a place alongside the likes of defending champion Luke Littler in this year's expanded Paddy Power World Championship. PDC expansions of the event have opened more doors for the likes of Brandon with five places available to US-based stars for Ally Pally. Brandon also has a shot of making the Lakeside World Championship, but has no hesitation in nominating which English Capital venue he'd like to be heading at Christmas as he said: 'It's bad to say, but I 100 per cent have to pick Ally Pally. It's just that's since I started and I found out about all this stuff, that's been a dream of mine to play. Obviously, Lakeside is awesome and I would love to get back there and have another chance. But if I was to qualify for Ally Pally, I would absolutely have to take that spot. 'We have all kinds of opportunities now and with the additional spots since they've expanded the PDC, those other spots now that's available to get, there's other avenues, not just open for one or two positions. We've got like five spots we can get now. That's awesome. I hope it gets more from there. I hope it expands even further, but we'll see how it goes. 'I'm hoping I don't mess myself up out of any of the spots. I tried to do that a few years ago, tried to play both and try to keep my options open to play CDC and WDF. Hopefully I have a shot at PDC and I messed myself up out of both of them. Right now I'm still in a good spot for Lakeside. I still can make the CDC stuff and we'll see how it goes.' Brandon is thrilled to have the New York opportunity and said: 'I've got to admit, I really wasn't expecting to make it back this year. I only had the one chance left in the qualifier and I played the best starts I played all day. I was fortunate enough to get through the qualifier to make it back up here. 'It's unreal that darts is the way is coming up here now in the US. To be able to play at such an iconic stage, it's amazing. It's great. It's awesome.' He displayed his talents with the Bunting success which has earned a last-eight crack at Damon Heta and said: 'That's my biggest win. I'm struggling to find the words. My goal was to come up here and get a little bit of redemption for two years ago. I don't know how I held it together but I was able to focus. I'm feeling way better about my darts now than I was coming into the event. I'm ready for Saturday.'

June 28 - Nick Martinez carried a no-hit bid into the ninth inning and Spencer Steer homered in each of his first three at-bats to lift the host Cincinnati Reds to an 8-1 victory over the San Diego Padres on Friday. After allowing a two-out walk to Jackson Merrill in the first, Martinez (5-8) retired the next 22 batters before issuing a free pass to Trenton Brooks leading off the ninth. Elias Diaz ended the no-hit bid with a double into the left-center-field gap, bringing a close to Martinez's night after a career high-tying 112 pitches. Taylor Rogers entered the game and yielded two walks -- including one to Bryce Johnson with the bases loaded for a run that was charged to Martinez. Rogers, however, struck out two batters in one inning to send the Reds to their fourth win in the last five games. Martinez, who allowed one run on one hit with six strikeouts, was attempting to record Cincinnati's first no-hitter since Wade Miley tossed one against the Cleveland Guardians on May 7, 2021.
