'Divine' Vera Wang scent now in Amazon sale at 'marvellous price'

Daily Mirror07-07-2025
Amazon shoppers can save big on the fruity, floral Vera Wang fragrance that comes in a striking heart-shaped bottle
Shoppers on the lookout for their new signature fragrance are in luck. That's because Amazon has slashed the price of an 'enchanting' designer perfume.
With its Prime Day event approaching on July 8-11, the online giant is already slashing the prices of numerous best-sellers, including fragrances. For those looking to bag a bargain scent, we've spotted an amazing discount on the much-loved Vera Wang Princess Eau de Toilette.
A 100ml bottle of the scent would normally set customers back £66, but it's now reduced to £17.75 in the Amazon sale, saving shoppers a huge £48.25. Top notes of water lily, golden apricot and mandarin meringue are blended with base notes of vanilla chiffon, amber and forbidden woods, delivering the ultimate fruity, floral fragrance.
The same Vera Wang perfume is on sale at Boots for £26, while The Perfume Shop has it for £23.99. Housed in a striking heart-shaped bottle, which is topped with a gold crown lid, it makes the perfect gift for a loved one.
Similar scents have been slashed in price as well. Over on LookFantastic, the Versace Crystal Noir Eau de Toilette (30ml) is down to £42.75, reduced from £57. This seductive perfume delivers fruity, floral and amber accords. Meanwhile, Charlotte Tilbury is offering its Love Frequency Perfume Set for £91 instead of £130 - a saving of 30%. It gets shoppers 100ml and 10ml bottles of the brand's woody floral fragrance.
On the Amazon website, the discounted Vera Wang fragrance has garnered plenty of glowing reviews from shoppers. More than 5,000 people have given it a five-star rating, proving how popular it is.
One said: "I bought this perfume for my sister-in-law, and she absolutely loved it! From the moment she sprayed it, she was impressed by the luxurious scent—it's elegant, long-lasting, and not overpowering.
"The fragrance has the perfect balance of floral and warm notes, making it ideal for both everyday wear and special occasions. She received so many compliments and has already decided to buy it again for herself."
A second person was also impressed, adding: "A true gem in the world of fragrances. Its enchanting scent, versatile nature, stunning packaging, and long-lasting allure make it a must-have for anyone seeking to channel their inner princess."
Yet, the scent wasn't for everyone. One three-star review reads: "The scent doesn't seem to last. Have to spray 2 or 3 times a day."
Someone else hailed the scent as 'divine', though. They added: "Beautiful fragrance at a marvellous price delivered quickly too. It's been a while since using it and has made me very happy."

There's 115,000 reasons why Trump should be welcomed to Scotland

Little is yet clear on the economic implications of America's new trade policies and Scotland's position within a radically changed global trade structure. The Trump administration is actively reshaping the way the world does business wherever the US is involved. Unfortunately the recent UK-US tariff deal is not yet the broadly-based trade agreement that would secure jobs for Scottish exporters. A baseline 10% tariff on most goods entering the United States might be less challenging than the EU position but it has hit growth and jobs. For Scotland, it represents a significant challenge to our transatlantic trade relationship, which generated £3.8 billion in exports to the US in 2024. Exporters have been forced to re-route product and quickly develop new markets. The urgency of this month's discussions is underscored by the imminent review in August of the UK-US trade arrangements. The present temporary agreement is fragile, creating anxiety in many sectors of the Scottish economy, from universities to food and drink. The impact on Scotland's key industries is already tangible. Scotch whisky, which suffered a major hit to sales during Trump's first presidency when he imposed 25% tariffs, faces renewed uncertainty. The US remains the largest Scotch export market by value, but global trade turmoil is a big headwind for an industry that exports 90% of its product. Read more: Similarly, Scottish salmon exports to the US are significant. Worth over £200 million annually, this trade is the second largest market for the product. And the pressure that lies ahead to harmonise with American regulatory standards could fundamentally alter Scotland's economic landscape. The US now views trade imbalances in simplistic terms, regulatory differences much more important than tariff levels. This represents a profound challenge to European standards on food safety, environmental protection, and product regulations. Food standards in particular are contentious and any changes could have far-reaching implications. Scotland still aims to keep in lock-step with the EU but may have to make some compromises with Westminster running the negotiations. American investment in Scotland extends far beyond Trump's golf properties. The USA is Scotland's largest inward investor, accounting for around 25% of total foreign inward investment in Scotland. More than 650 US-owned businesses employ around 115,000 people across the country. The pharmaceutical sector, financial services, and technology companies in particular have established significant operations ranging from JP Morgan to Amazon and Microsoft. Encouragingly, it seem that some American businesses are actually now viewing Scotland more favourably. If the UK can successfully negotiate a comprehensive trade agreement that provides greater certainty, Scotland could benefit from increased US investment as companies seek to establish operations that can serve both American and European markets from a single location. Anecdotal evidence also suggests that some individual Americans are considering Scotland for potential relocation, attracted by our political stability, social democratic values, and cultural heritage. The relationship also involves exchange of ideas, as the US is Scotland's top global research collaborator. Eighty links between Scottish and US universities and colleges involve staff and student exchanges and many joint publications. The thousands of US students who come to our universities help to forge long lasting relationships between the two nations. The controversial nature of Trump's presidency may actually be driving some North American tourism to Scotland. Many Canadians say they have changed their thinking about travelling to the USA. But overall Scotland's tourism sector is under pressure, as a weak US dollar makes Scotland expensive for American visitors. Combined with new visitor taxes, this means that the sector does not need any new frictions. Trump's approach to international relations reflects a broader strategy to reshape the global economic order around American interests. The traditional multilateral framework that has governed international trade since the Second World War is being replaced by a more transactional system where countries must demonstrate an alignment of interests to maintain favourable treatment. Scotland's relationship with the US clearly matters but, however much it grates to be dictated to, we have relatively few negotiating levers. Even the EU as a whole seems to be in that position at the moment. It will take our leaders all their skill to make the best of the forthcoming meetings. We must find common ground and realise we might learn from new US policies. It seems reasonable for example, that countries should pay their fair share for what is effectively an American security and financial umbrella. And it took US pressure for the UK recently to drop some surprising tariffs; on pasta, pineapples and fruit juice. In some ways, Trump is pursuing a typical agenda for second term presidents - recognising that time and domestic political leverage is not on his side, making foreign policy a bigger focus. US exceptionalism may be unwinding even as it tears up longstanding agreements. In an increasingly fragmented global order it is more important than ever to protect Scottish interests. When emotion and reason are in conflict, the heart often overrules the head. But this is a time to look beyond personalities. The path forward requires acknowledging uncomfortable realities about American power and Scottish dependence while working to preserve the values and interests that define Scotland. Amazon's £160 smartwatch with 'refined style' dropped to £36

Shoppers were full of love for this affordable timepiece that does so much for a discount smartwatch Amazon shoppers have been praising a smartwatch that was discounted by more than £120 during a sale. People loved the fact that its "sporty and rugged design" made it "perfect for daily use or workouts" Normally £159.99, the Military Smart Watch by Atheewon is discounted by a massive 80%, cutting the final price down to just under £35.99. Built with a "rugged" look, this military-style smartwatch is "built to endure the toughest environments", Amazon claims. It boasts being "shockproof, drop-resistant and scratch-resistant" with a remarkable level of protection against "daily wear and extreme conditions". The online listing suggests that the device can stayed powered up for days after just two hours of charging. The device offers all you'd expect from a smartwatch for a fraction of the price of leading models like Apple and FitBit, like call, text and social media notifications. The watch comes in two colour choices - midnight retro blue (which is discounted) or casual black (which is full priced). For the fitness fanatics, the waterproof watch offers a range of features to make training and tracking progress effortless. With more than 110 programmed sport modes, it "analyses data in real time to help optimise training results and achieve exercise goals easily", Amazon adds. There are similar devices on the market for people wanting an affordable way into the smartwatch world without spending hundreds of pounds. For example, Sports Direct is offering this Karrimor Smart Watch (£19.99, down from £49.99) and the Reflex Active Series 23 Smart Watch from Currys (£39.99). But, Amazon shoppers have been praising this "sporty" watch. One said: "It brilliantly combines robust design, technical performance and sporty versatility. "Whether you are sporty, adventurous or simply a fan of smart gadgets, this smartwatch will accompany you everywhere, while enhancing your wrist." Another added: "I liked this smartwatch as soon as I unboxed it. "It has a sporty, rugged design, perfect for daily use or workouts. The strap is comfortable and adjustable, and the round screen is clear, even outdoors." A third posted: "This is my first smartwatch I never thought I needed one, but it has been a total game changer for exercise I've used it for more than 3 days without a single charge, and it's still running perfectly. The battery life is amazing!" And, someone else wrote: "The watch is really smart and has tons of workout variations, so you can choose exactly what you want to focus on. It keeps me motivated and active. Totally worth it!" But, not everyone was impressed. A shopper who left a one star review claimed: "I spent hours trying to get this paired and synced to no avail. "Ended up giving up out of frustration. If it's this hard to pair the watch and get it to work properly then forget it. "I don't need that kind of frustration. I'm returning the watch for that reason." Someone else penned: "Nice watch but step counter doesn't properly for me. Some days doesn't register at all and I know I've walked 3 or 4 miles." A separate individual suggested: "The two 'buttons' on the left are not even buttons. They are just part of the plastic casing. "I can't imagine an £150 watch having fake buttons?"
