ECoR shifts PRS & UTS of Bhubaneswar Station to new building

Bhubaneswar, June 17 (UNI) As part of the ongoing redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway Station to world-class standards, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has initiated steps to improve passenger convenience and infrastructure.
The Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters, which were previously operating from a temporary shed, have now been shifted to the newly constructed station building on a temporary basis.
According to ECoR sources, this arrangement ensures the uninterrupted availability of ticketing services while allowing construction work at the shed site to continue smoothly.
The redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway Station is being undertaken under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
To further ease passenger movement, a newly constructed approach road from the Town Bus Stand/Temple side has been opened, providing better connectivity and hassle-free access to the station.
A major milestone in this redevelopment effort is the opening of direct access to Platform No 1 through a newly built ground-level departure concourse, which is expected to reduce congestion and significantly improve passenger flow.
The relocated PRS/UTS and enquiry counters at the under-construction station building offer more space and improved ease of movement for passengers, ECoR sources said.

Govt allows cab aggregators to charge twice base fare during peak hours

New Delhi, July 2 (UNI) The government has permitted cab aggregators to implement a maximum dynamic pricing rate of up to twice the base fare during peak hours. According to the Motor Vehicles Aggregator Guidelines 2025 issued yesterday, aggregators are also required to charge at least 50 per cent less than the base fare during non-peak hours. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has directed the state governments to adopt these revised guidelines within three months from the date of issue. The guidelines further specify that "the fare notified by the state government for the respective category or class of motor vehicles shall be the base fare chargeable to passengers availing services from the aggregator." Additionally, the base fare should cover a minimum of three kilometers to account for dead mileage — this includes the distance traveled without a passenger and the distance and fuel used to pick up the passenger(s). As per the revised guidelines, the driver, along with the motor vehicle, onboarded with the aggregator, is entitled to receive a minimum of 80% of the applicable fare, including all costs under the driver's fare. The remaining portion may be retained by the aggregator as the apportioned fare. 'No passenger shall be charged for dead mileage except when the distance for availing the ride is less than three kilometres and the fare shall be charged only from the point of origin of the journey to the point of destination where the passenger is dropped off,' the guidelines said. Moreover, if a driver cancels a booking after accepting a ride on the app, a penalty of 10 percent of the fare, not exceeding Rs 100, will be imposed if the cancellation is made without a valid reason, as defined by the aggregator and clearly mentioned on its website and app. If a passenger cancels a booking after confirming the journey on App, a cancellation fee of 10 percent of the fare, not exceeding Rs 100, will be collected. This fee applies if the cancellation is made without a valid reason, as outlined by the aggregator on its website and app. The cancellation fee will be divided between the driver and the aggregator. RailOne: Indian Railways Launches Unified Super App for Ticket Booking, Tracking, and More

In a move aimed at enhancing convenience and digital accessibility for railway passengers, Indian Railways has officially launched RailOne, a comprehensive new mobile app that brings multiple services under a single umbrella. Unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the app was introduced on the occasion of the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) in New Delhi. Here are 10 key highlights about the new RailOne app: A Unified Digital Experience:RailOne serves as an all-in-one solution for Indian Railways passengers, combining features previously spread across different apps. From ticket booking to real-time tracking and complaint resolution, it centralizes the entire railway experience into one streamlined platform. An Evolution of Swarail:Rather than a brand-new concept, RailOne is a revamped and renamed version of the Swarail App, which was previously in its pilot phase. It now comes with improved functionality and full availability across Android and iOS devices. Combining Multiple Railway Services:The app integrates key services from popular platforms such as IRCTC Rail Connect, UTSonMobile, NTES, Rail Madad, and Food on Track—providing a seamless experience for ticketing, food orders, and assistance. Reserved and Unreserved Ticket Booking:Users can now book both reserved and unreserved tickets via the RailOne app. IRCTC continues to manage reserved ticketing, but RailOne provides a unified login experience—users can sign in using their existing IRCTC credentials, without the need to register again. Live Train Tracking:RailOne offers real-time train location tracking, including platform numbers and delay estimates, helping travellers plan better and avoid confusion during their journey. Built-in R-Wallet Support:The app includes R-Wallet, Indian Railways' proprietary digital wallet. Passengers can avail a 3% discount on unreserved ticket bookings when using R-Wallet, with secure biometric or mPIN authentication. Complete Travel Support Suite:Additional features include PNR status updates, booking history, coach position, on-seat food delivery, porter services, last-mile taxi bookings, and refund management for cancellations or missed trains. Accessible and Multilingual Interface:To cater to India's diverse passenger base, the RailOne app features a simple user interface and supports multiple Indian languages, making it more user-friendly for travelers from various regions. Ready for the New PRS Rollout:RailOne's launch sets the stage for the upcoming Passenger Reservation System (PRS) revamp, scheduled for release by December 2025. The new PRS will offer enhanced scalability and a broader range of booking options. How to Get the App:RailOne is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Once installed, users can log in with their IRCTC credentials or create a new profile. The app's homepage provides direct access to all services. With the launch of RailOne, Indian Railways is taking a major step toward digital transformation, ensuring convenience, connectivity, and customer satisfaction—all from a single app.
