Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he returns to dating app 'keen to meet other women'
Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton appear to have called it 'quits' on their rumoured romance, as Gethin has reportedly returned to a dating app.
The popular BBC presenters have shared a close friendship for some time, which was believed to have blossomed into something more after they were seen leaving the BAFTAs together in May. While they never officially confirmed a relationship, the pair had been spotted spending time together away from work, including a recent spa day at a country club.
But it seems the brief romance has fizzled out as Gethin has reportedly been spotted on celebrity app Raya while he enjoys a trip to Australia, where he's been watching the British and Irish Lions' tour with a group of mates, the Mirror reports.
It comes days after a further hint that things were heating up between the pair when Gethin, 47, took to his Instagram stories to publicly wish Helen happy birthday as she turned 42 earlier this month.
"Gethin is on the prowl Down Under which puts the nail in the coffin for his romance with Helen," a source told Mail Online. "He's there with pals but keen to meet other women.
"There is no way Helen would stand for that if they were together and he has far too much respect for her to even go behind her back. Despite having an increasingly close connection it's cooled down significantly which is gutting for fans who really wanted them to be together."
The pair have both endured heartbreak in recent years. Gethin's engagement to Katherine Jenkins was called off in 2011 and he's experienced a series of short relationships since.
Meanwhile Helen separated from ex-husband Richie Myler - with whom she shares three children - back in 2022.
Helen and Leeds Rhinos rugby player Richie, 35, had been married for eight years and had just welcomed their third child, Elsie, when they parted ways. He now has two more children with Stephanie Thirkhill, also 35, whose millionaire father Andrew Thirkill is the president of Richie's rugby club.
Shocking her followers at the time, Helen revealed the devastating news of her split on Instagram as she shared: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children."
While writing her 2023 autobiography, In My Stride, Helen opened up about the heartbreak of her unexpected separation. She shared candid reflections on the emotional toll it took, admitting that the breakup came as a shock and wasn't something she had ever seen coming.
She penned: "I was in shock. I know that following break-ups, people often say they didn't see it coming and it sounds like a cliché, but that was me."

Greggs and KFC launch 'culinary crossover of the century' - and for some it's free
Two of Britain's best known takeaway chains have combined a couple of their famous dishes for a limited special calling it the 'mash-up the nation's been craving' and 'seriously flavoursome' Greggs and KFC have teamed up to create what they're calling the 'culinary crossover of the century' - a sausage roll drenched in gravy. The high street food giants have worked together for the first time to offer Greggs' famous sausage roll with KFC's gravy, calling it the 'mash-up the nation's been craving' and 'seriously flavoursome'. They are taking the new combination on a three-day tour from Thursday this week, handing it out for free in London on August 7, followed by Manchester on August 8 and Newcastle on August 9. It came as Greggs has also launched a £4 breakfast meal deal that comes with a bonus item. A sharing bucket including six Greggs sausage rolls and a large tub of KFC gravy will be available for £10 on Friday August 15 and Saturday August 16 through Uber Eats in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham. There is no word about what the calorie content of the combo is, however. KFC brand manager Phoebe Syms said: 'At KFC, we bleed gravy. We go to obsessive lengths for our liquid gold, and so do our fans. In fact, it was them who inspired this once-in-a-lifetime event, calling for us to partner with Greggs and unite our iconic gravy with their iconic sausage rolls. Now we're joining forces for just a few days to give the people a taste of what they really want ... it's time for gravy to meet pastry. You're welcome.' Fiona Mills, brand communications lead at Greggs, said: 'With 96 layers of light puff pastry, and perfectly baked to give that satisfying golden crisp and flaky goodness, we've always known our sausage rolls are a true British icon. And why not pair one icon with another? We can't wait to see what Greggs and KFC fans make of our latest partnership. We're sure fans of both brands will enjoy devouring their Greggs x KFC sharing bucket.' The tour will stop at London's Southbank Centre on Thursday, followed by Manchester's St Anne's Square on Friday and then Newcastle's Times Square, all between 12pm and 5pm, with supplies available on a first come, first served basis. Greggs took to social media earlier in the day to tease fans about what might be to come. On both Instagram and TikTok, Greggs shared a brief video of one of its iconic sausage rolls being held up in front of a KFC restaurant's sign to the sounds of The Sundays' track Summertime and the line: "It's you and me in the summertime." In addition, Greggs added a caption: "Oddly satisfying. Is this a sign?" Writing in response on Instagram, one user pondered: "KFC inspired Chicken bake? Instead of creamy sauce in the current chicken bake it'll be KFC gravy? A KFC and gravy style bake? I'm invested." Greggs has previous form when it comes to using social media to drive sales. In 2019, its vegan sausage roll proved a massive hit after a clever marketing campaign. The firm could do with a boost after it last week revealed a slump in profits as it was knocked by hot weather and caution among shoppers over their finances. The Newcastle-based business revealed that profits fell by 14.3% to £63.5million for the half-year to June 28, compared with a year earlier. It said the first half of 2025 was impacted by "challenging market footfall, more weather disruption than in 2024" and increased costs.

KFC and Greggs are teaming up for the ‘crossover of the century'
Whether it's popcorn chicken, bargain buckets or the Tower Burger, the clue is in the name – KFC is famous for its poultry dishes. Now, the fast food brand is taking a dip in uncharted waters in launching a 'seriously flavoursome' new dish – and this time, it's not actually chicken-based. KFC is teaming up with British bakery faves Greggs to launch a sausage roll drenched in gravy, in a move that's been dubbed nothing short of the 'culinary crossover of the century.' Over the last year, Britons have consumed an impressive daily average of 15,000 litres of KFC gravy and more than 1,000,000 Greggs sausage rolls. Following its launch, the flavour mash-up will be taking a three-day tour across the UK this week, with free samples handed out at London's Southbank Centre on August 7, as well as in Manchester's St Anne's Square on August 8 and Newcastle's Times Square on August 9. Thought that was all? A sharing bucket featuring six sausage rolls and a large tub of the coveted gravy will also be on offer for £10 through Uber Eats – but you'll need to be quick, as it'll only be available on August 15 and August 16 in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle. It was actually the fans who inspired this 'once-in-a-lifetime event,' many of whom go to 'obsessive lengths' for a mere taste of the 'liquid gold.' 'At KFC, we bleed gravy,' said KFC's brand manager Phoebe Syms, noting that there had long been calls for the fried chicken chain to unite for a sausage roll collab. 'With 96 layers of light puff pastry, and perfectly baked to give that satisfying golden crisp and flaky goodness, we've always known our sausage rolls are a true British icon. And why not pair one icon with another?' said Fiona Mills, brand communications lead at Greggs. KFC fans were previously surprised to learn that the gravy-making process has an unusual extra step. In the Channel 4 documentary Inside KFC At Christmas, which aired in 2020, one team member revealed that the salty sauce is actually produced using the leftover juices and crackling from the bottom of the chicken fryers. 'You get the crackling and then three and a half litres of cold water. Two scoops of crackling. You get your juices off your chicken and then you get your magic ingredient,' Anne explained. 'There's nothing on the packet to tell you what's in the magic ingredients,' she said. 'Pour that in there, whisk it up so it's nice and smooth and all the bits are all mixed up. Voila.' Culinary fans have long been going left-field on their choice of dipping sauces – and gravy has often been touted as a popular choice. More Trending Over on the r/UK_Food Subreddit, @Deep_Ad_9889 confessed to loving a 'good thick gravy' to dunk their homemade sausage rolls in – and even preferred it to ketchup. @Banes_Addiction also reckoned the snack is best served up with a 'pot of gravy for dipping,' while another Redditor previously debated the importance of sauce in levelling up the sausage roll experience. @its_brew came up with a few alternative suggestions, including Frank's hot sauce with a little bit of butter melted into it, as well as a 'dash of vinegar and some honey.' Microwave it for five seconds et voila, you've got 'buffalo sausage rolls.' View More » 'What kind of person doesn't have ketchup and at least one spare bottle,' @MajorMany7618 added, while @sirfive_al was a brown sauce advocate and @DirectSpeaker3441 believed in the power of a 'light sprinkle of salt' rather than a full-blown dip. Ozzy Osbourne's cause of death revealed days after star's funeral
Ozzy Osbourne's official cause of death has been confirmed after the Black Sabbath star died on July 22. Ozzy Osbourne's cause of death has been confirmed. The Prince of Darkness passed away aged 76 on July 22, while surrounded by his beloved wife Sharon and his children. Ozzy had been suffering with poor health in recent years, which he had publicly spoken about, but had been determined to make it to Villa Park, where he performed for the final time with his Black Sabbath bandmates just days before he passed away. His death certificate confirms that Ozzy died following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction (joint causes). An acute myocardial infarction happens when the blood flow to the heart is blocked, often by a blood clot, causing damage to the muscles of the heart. Symptoms can include pain in the chest, including pressure, heaviness, tightness or squeezing, pain in other parts of the body, including the arm, jaw, neck, back and stomach, lightheadedness, sweating, shortness of breath and feeling sick, the Mirror reports. Ozzy's youngest daughter, Kelly, shared a tear jerking tribute to her late father yesterday evening. She took to Instagram to write: "I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you. "The love, support, and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain. "Grief is a strange thing—it sneaks up on you in waves-I will not be ok for a while-but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. "I'm holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind. Thank you for being there. I love you all so much." She signed off" by writing: Kelly #BirminghamForever #OzzyForever" Ozzy was laid to rest last week during a private family funeral on their Buckinghamshire estate. The day before, the Osbournes put on a united family front and made a public appearance in the star's hometown of Birmingham where thousands of fans had gathered to grieve the loss of the heavy metal icon. Ozzy's coffin made it's way down Broad Street in a hearse, stopped beside the Black Sabbath bridge and bench which was adorned with fan tributes. Sharon and her three kids, Aimee, Kelly and Jack, who she shared with Ozzy, were joined by the rock icon's son Louis from a previous marriage, as they emotionally laid their own floral tributes. Birmingham City Council began gathering up the tributes on Monday so they can be stored before being handed over to the Osbourne family. The council said: 'In due course, they will be passed on to the Osbourne family, so they may keep them as a lasting reminder of the public's affection and support.' In a statement released through the city council, the Osbourne family said: 'We are deeply moved by the heartfelt tributes that have been placed at the Black Sabbath Bridge and at the Black Sabbath mural on Navigation Street in recent days. "These expressions of remembrance reflect the profound impact that Ozzy had on the city and its people, as well as fans from around the world – BIRMINGHAM FOREVER!" Confirming that Ozzy had died last month, a statement from the family, released from his hometown, said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." Speaking about his final performance at Villa Park on July 5, Ozzy's Black Sabbath bandmate, Geezer Butler, said the music icon was "frail" but "thrilled" to be able to perform for his fans one last time, who had stood by him throughout his career.
